As much as people are hating on the Bengals opinion, it was actually the best take of the show.
It’s easy to take high overs and low unders but there’s no value in that and you’ll end up -EV considering how much parity exists in the NFL.
You want to buy teams low and sell them high.

      - The Bengals have a great roster, and Joe Burrow is a top 2-3 QB in the league.

I’d rather listen to a video/podcast that both people disagree and give points for each side, and take firm stands on teams for being ranked too high or too low by multiple wins instead of taking the over on every team and saying “yeah this line is dead on it’s exactly where it’s supposed to be” is just bland and stating the obvious.

@@cobbler88 Watson was one of the best QBs in the league at one point, that's not even rationally arguable. It's also stupid to argue against the fact that the Browns, with how elite the rest of the roster is, that they are easily a Super Bowl contender if Watson plays like a top 5 QB again.
It's very simple math. An elite QB paired with an elite defense is always a Super Bowl contender. Trying to argue that because you dislike Watson is just stupid.

    • @cobbler88
      @cobbler88 7 дней назад

@randumo24 I appreciate your dimwitted, thoughtless reply.
I'm going to have to do this from memory because this isn't important enough to look up the numbers again.
Watson has never been elite. He took a team that was already making the playoffs and made them one - then two - game(s) better. He had one statistical breakout season, except that they were significantly garbage tome stats en route to a 4-win season.
I know. I know. It's everyone ELSE'S fault except the QB's that they lost all of those games. But you could go through the list of starters that year and be in the second tier before you can comfortably say that you found one who also would have only won 4 games with that roster.
He led the league in passing yards. So did Jameis Winston a year or two before him. But unlike Winston, Watson is risk-averse and will gladly throw the ball away rather than try to thread the needle to extend a drive late in a game he's losing. For his career before last year's poor effort, he was basically a 26/11 TD/INT guy.
That's not elite. That's Teddy Bridgewater with a slightly better deep ball.
I've been in the media in major league and major D1 markets for decades. Miss me with your ESPN/sports talk elementary school-level BS.

There are still legit questions at receiver, cornerback, and interior d-line, but the o-line is solid, and they should be able to run the ball effectively, which is something they haven’t been able to do for awhile.

It IS June, so going through and picking game by game this far from the beginning of the season, before various things can happen, is a fruitless endeavor.
That said, a podcast on team win totals without going game by game is absolutely worthless.
I get the temptation. It's nice to do something in the spring that's actually interesting, rather than profoundly stupid like picking the top 3 players on each team or predicting rookie POYs. That's why we need all the crowd-sourcing of ideas from fans, assuming they've demonstrated their bona fides via the highly scientific process of leaving glowing reviews of the podcast.
Maybe there's merit there. That process is at LEAST as scientific than Steve's WAR "statistic."' 🤣

Sam nailed it! Joe Burrow is right there with Pat Mahomes in talent, but he is very very fragile, especially playing within the Physicality of the AFC North with the Steelers, Browns, and Ravens. This is why I am high on the Steelers. They own Lamar Jackson and have beaten the Ravens 7 of 8 last games. And Deshaun Watson has never beaten the Steelers. Burrow owns the Steelers but had his worst game as a pro versus the Steelers in 2022 Seasonal opener when the Steelers intercepted Burrow 4 Times and sacked him 7 Times with 1 lost Fumble.
Football analyst focuses on the Strength of Schedule, which is very misleading, I focus on Strength of QB this is the most important factor in the winning equation. The Steelers have the best QB Tandem in the AFC North with RW3 and JF2 and I am taking the Browns with the 2nd Best with Watson and Winston. The Bengals are 3rd, and the Ravens are 4th, and this will determine the AFC North. Steelers won 10 games without a competent QB and now with all the major upgrades in the QB Room, OC Room, OL Room. Steelers winning 2 more games to be a 12 Win Team with an improved offense and especially with an improved Defense that was 6th is scoring despite all the major injuries to Minkah, Cam Heyward, a depleted Safety room (Kazee suspension 4 games) and ILB Room (Holcomb and Kwon Alexander injuries). And with the Additions of Patrick Queen, Deshon Elliott, Cam Sutton, Deonta Jackson, and Rookie Payton Wilson! This Defense will be Top 3.

Lamar is comfortably the best QB in the AFC North. Granted the Ravens recent record against the Steelers has been shite but last year he tore them apart and had 3 open TD passes dropped and didn’t play in the final game so there’s plenty of context.
He owns the bengals and consistently does more with less.

More so this is a fantastic example of how one can create a narrative that is one half compelling and one half utter fantasy to reach the conclusion they had from the outset.

@ojn8819cd Lol. You are so correct. Each fanbase create their own narrative to meet their own agenda. This guy had Steelers best in division based on Russel Wilson and Justin fields, who are both considered failures at this point in their careers.
