Matheran in Heavy Rains - A Journey of Adventure, Friendship & Rediscovery.

Two years after my last trek to Irshalgad, I finally set out on my long-awaited trip to Matheran-an experience I had dreamed of for years. While many visit just to travel, I wanted to feel the very essence of this place. Life had been tough for the past two years, and this journey felt like a calling.
The trip almost didn’t happen. Originally planned for five people, one by one, everyone backed out. But my closest friend and I made a pact-we were going no matter what. And so, with just a day's planning, we set off, determined to make this adventure our own.
Then came an unexpected twist. Upon reaching Matheran, we met a gentleman who visits every weekend and knows the trails like the back of his hand. With him as our guide, we explored Matheran like never before-trekking through endless rain and thick fog, covering miles with no food for nine hours straight. The exhaustion was real, but the experience? Absolutely surreal. Standing at the peaks, amidst the mist, it felt like we were on the very head of Mother Earth.
This trip was more than just a trek-it was a rebirth, a healing experience that left us in awe. The landscapes, the fresh air, and the companionship made it unforgettable. If you ever visit Matheran, do it during the heavy rains, and if you're lucky, have a friend like Irrfan Bhai to show you its true beauty.
