- In this DCS World video I show how to use the George CPG when firing hellfires. The Apache is a great new module, I will do more content when I am happy flying it :)

Great work on the module.
Suggestion for those of us having trouble between green and yellow (im slightly colour blind) - is it possible to mark the ROE with a box or maybe some sort of symbol to mark the “free fire” option - or maybe a voice line saying “free to fire”/“weapons yellow”?
Its come a long way.. check it out now.. flys more realistic then ever..
You can hold the AI helper down to bring the list of targets back up. Saves you having to look and slave him to it

Wow! Thanks for the vid and the work that went into it. I didn't realize that you can call up a list of the targets and select one by tapping up then down to scroll through the list. I gotta go try some more!! Thanks again...

Sometimes you watch a few good videos, but somehow you miss something (or it wasn't covered). Then you watch another video and it all comes together in your brain. It just clicks. This is THAT video for me! Now I'm going to get back in the Apache, after only briefly messing with it before. Thanks. I hope they fixed the issue with seeing the AI helper in VR, otherwise George will still be useless to me, since I only fly in VR.

Very Helpful mate. So UP hold (Green/Yellow), UP tap (Slave to target), RIGHT tap (change burst), RIGHT hold (Store Target), DOWN hold (????), DOWN tap (????), LEFT hold (????), LEFT tap (change weapons).
Just trying to figure it all out.
Recommend a video on GEORGE from the CPG seat (Pilot is George).

Couple of suggestion for George to make him even better. When he is given the green light to engage on his own. George should track and engage targets until he has no more targets or none in range or out of Ammo. And George can switch to guns or rockets if the targets are too close for missiles. When Goerge is standing by for authoraztion from the pilot to engage, George can track and spot tgts on the TADS and call them to the pilot.
That would imply trust in George 😁
I realllly wish George had an IFF.... still awesome little bot as a gunner, minus the interactivity, no jester for sure ><

Thanks! Super helpful. Do you have any tips on having him spot targets themselves if I don't have a waypoint already? For example MANPADS on the way to my target area?
Be looking outside constantly, get the CPG to scan ahead
After a target is destroyed if you long press down it brings the list up again (assuming there were more targets nearby), so you dont have to short up while pointing at something.
How does it work if you dont want to point with your head at things for George? Or is telling him to slave to your P-HMD the only way to designate target areas? I was thinking maybe you could tell him in advance on the map? Thanks.

Thank you for your help, as that was truly very good. I have been looking at trying to workout George. So you did really great in solving my mystery. Do you know how to work from or swap seats for the Co-pilot . I don't know how that is done and what the settings are.. Thank you..
Push button 1 for pilot seat, 2 for cpg seat.
If you want to easily switch seats, you can do it with one button. In the AH-64D Pilot control set, map "Occupy Co-pilot/Gunner Seat" to a convenient button on your stick or throttle. In the AH-64D CP/G control set, map Occupy Pilot Seat to the same button. Then the same button will jump you from seat to seat.

It’s worth mentioning George doesn’t differentiate between friendly and hostile . So if it’s danger close you might want to double verify what he’s targeting .
George doesn't mind prison.
George is an American, he doesn't care about things like that :)))
Yo Bro, half the volume is enough to blow my ears out.
Unfortunately the George Interface is next to useless in VR. It is placed in the extreme top and extreme bottom of the screen so is in the distorted part of the lens and at an eye straining extreme of your eyeballs movement. It should be fixed spatially like the radio menu or control boxout so you can look directly at it, not fixed to the HMD screen. So disappointing, I hope they fix this soon...
I don't have any vr or head tracking so ima stick to the ka50. Ah64 seems fun but without any head tracking seems almost impossible to use effectively
I'm a VR-only user and I would tend to agree although I haven't tried the AH-64D in 2D. Maybe try the free 2-week trial?

Hi, is it possible in anyway to be able to look at the left screen instead of having to look around for targets?
Is there a way to make George naturally select another target in line after the first being destroyed? A real gunman would use cannon over the whole column, and here with George we have to tell him what to shoot at, truck by truck, which is very unrealistic. Instead one deadly pass over the column you have to make three or more passes. Give some more initiative for George! :)
I don't know if anyone else has this problem but for some reason whenever I cold start the apache I can't see where George is slewing to
Check your acquisition source. It’s fixed. Change to CPG or TADS. TADS would be better.
I know it's not covered in the video but anyone else having issues with george not lasing after firing in LOAL
Was about to ask, doesn't work for me either. For LOAL he would have to store a Target point to fire the Hellfire at for the profile to work correctly, I think.
How are you selecting the targets from the list George spots? On the ground you clicked on an item but then when you were flying I couldn't see how you managed to select from the list. [Edit: heard it at the end 'tap down']
Push up and down on the AI helper (W, S) and then right (D) to select it
I still cannt get my helfires to fire. You gonna store and what? "Come down" ?, "Condom"??? Can you please clarify what exactly key do you use after that? I'd be very thankful.
You look at a target, press UP on the George AI helper. He will look there and a list of targets will appear. Cycle them with up and down on the AI helper and press RIGHT on AI helper. Then, simply fly to align the small square in the centre of the screen, just behind his head. When he is ready to fire it will become large. Press consent to fire, or, AI helper UP long (press and hold up until the text changes to green)

Ps. I think explaining with just "A, W, S, D" keys could be much easier for some.
I do not understand the boxes. They are nowhere near the target so they make no sense.
They’re not over the target their an indication to where you should be looking in the cockpit

When I slave George to a target, the little window that shows the list of targets does not appear. I get the circle menu of George commands, but no list appears. Is there something I am doing wrong?
how did you make your monocle visible like that? Mine is just like a HMD in the Hornet, Hawg or Viper, it's only the symbology.
It’s the default setting
@@TacticalPascale I found the setting, didn't know it was in special. For some reason mine was selected to "hide monocle".
No matter what I try, my list of targets don't get displayed. I have done everything that you have said in this video, yet still nothing. Watched other videos as well, done everything they have said and nothing. Very frustrating.

I did everything like you... George found a target, stored and lased but when I gave him consent nothing happened... Full square near the center...Nothing. Even free fire didnt worked... He did fire a gun as soon as i switched to it but no hellfires. Any idea?
oh yea and I bugged my trims somehow by giving him orders (at some point it was untrimmable)
Without knowing the full situation, I’d wonder if the wasn’t trees or a building or some sort of obscurant in the way…

Do you have him set as your acquisition source?
George doesn’t seem to look where I ask him to. I look directly at a couple of targets 5km away and he just points the TADS at the ground somewhere else
Look at the target. He’ll say “slaving” then “deslaved” when he’s moved his head there.
Change your acquisition method to TADS

In the control options when I search for "george" it only shows me 2 things, "George AI Helper Interface - Show/Hide" and "Consent to Fire" ... whats wrong, why cant I bind up down left and right to tell him how he is supposed to fly.... as of now I can only let him fly 90 knots passes at approx. 300ft and thats it. He wont hover he wont turn he wont even do anything but sit there and get shot down.... when I want to fly combat missions I am on my own with a sack of potatoes in the front seat whats wrong with this.

my bad found it. I was in the "Pilot" section, man DCS is not a game, not even a sim game. It is HELL Simulation. I love it.

The instructions are right on, I've hit a bunch of tanks by following this video. Pay attention to the steps, after a few times you'll nail it for sure.
How do I switch to the front seat and let George fly?? I can't find the answer anywhere
Press 2 on the keyboard, 1 to switch back but you can’t do it in multiplayer
Numbers 1 and 2 (above letters E and R on the keyboard - the same for all multi-crew aircraft, btw). Be aware that you cannot jump from pilot to CP/G seats when in multiplayer, regardless of the AH-64D AI setting in Mission Editor.

It’s about 10x better than the hind. I love the hind, but … the Apache is just phenomenal.

It's an incredibly well made module. Lots and lots of fun to fly.
