Hello Josh, I Bought my Stihl Fs 94 r brand new 4 years ago. It had this problem the 1st day I tried to use it. It would catch sometimes and slip sometimes. Took it back to the store under warranty. I kind of knew what the problem was because I opened it and looked at it. Didn’t know what they were called but I could tell they didn’t look right and were worn. The store kept it 6 weeks. I was very understanding because it was peak mowing season. Went back to pick it up. Walked out to my truck tried to start it. Same thing still slipping. I was so mad I couldn’t even go back in the store. Got home took it apart still had the same part with the pawls badly worn. So I’ve just been dealing with it. I use it at home. So no big deal right. I’ve used Stihl since 1993 great weed eaters. lawn care service with my dad. I still have a stihl leaf blower from 93’. So today was my first cut for 2022. Got fed up with it slipping and really didn’t want to go back to that store. I use youtube a lot. It was a fairly new model back then so there wasn’t any videos of this particular problem. Found your video today OMG thank you so much!
Hey there, that is awesome I was able to help you out. I tend to do most of my own maintenance, perhaps I'll do a few more. Thank you for watching the video and please like and subscribe for future videos
I owned 2 fs94r man they were the worst trimmers I have ever owned they constantly would break starting cogs hot start issues I mean problems after problems carbs were changed by warranty nothing worked I ended up returning both trimmers to the dealership that was also hell and they gave me 2 echos srm2620 never had an issue again.
You must have got a bad batch because the 94r's that I have been running for over six years the only thing I've had to change on them is the fuel filter in the spark plug and the one dogon this one but this weed eater was bought second-hand it wasn't new like my other three FS94r are five- six years old run perfectly
@@JCLandscapingandMowing They still sell Stihl but not that model they have been having to many problems with that model Echo is more popular here in Miami Fla they hold up much longer then Stihl
That sucks, but obviously isnt an issue for most. Iv had mine 7 years and run it hard. Recoil is just bow messing up. They could have switched suppliers somwhere and gotten a bad run of parts. Perticularly the cogs. Bought it on recommendation from a college grounds crew and it's been the best trimmer iv ever owned. I have a 91r now and it doesn't hold a candle to the 94 @victorrippe5845
