    Paddington to Penzance is one of the greatest long distance train journey. The scenery is absolutely stunning.

    thank you for your sharing. I was deeply shocked by this video. Britain's railway construction is so fantastic! Although China's railway construction has made some progress this year, details can not be compared with yours. China's railway HTC, the station is very modern, sometimes more modern than the international airport, but all the stations are homogeneous, the lack of artistic atmosphere. But from your video I can see that the British station has a very historical flavor and a sense of art. The scenery along the railway is everywhere. This is something neither China nor Japan can match. There are still many places in China's railway construction that need to learn about other countries, especially the software and details, in combination with its own culture, to change this stereotyped building. I hope China and Britain can exchange and cooperate with each other to promote mutual development. Your video made me know the difference between the British Railways and I hope you can share the video about the British High Speed Rail next time and feel the speed and passion of the UK. Thank you.

      The railways in rural areas tend to be relatively scenic, especially in mountainous areas but the railways in urban areas are just as bland as anywhere else!

    This journey is nicer when it's light, the section between Exeter and Newton Abbott is spectacular.

      we would have loved to experience this section in daylight as well; unfortunately, the days are very short in the winter time

    Hello There, a nice review overall, the HSTs did have a far more polished and professional business approach throughout, whilst the new 800s are no where near as professional and don't represent the same upper class standard that the HSTs once did. Love this video perspective a very useful look at this truly incredible and breathtaking/scenic journey. Cheers Peter

      The fact that you have the audacity to even **TRY** to compare the HST to any train is just… strange

    Excellent coverage! I used to travel First Class on this route frequently but only Standard on the new trains because First Class is nowhere near as good.
    Thank ylou for such good coverage.

      So true 😞. It really isn’t worth paying extra for first class on the new 800’s. Horrible hard seats .

    The 10.06 am had Pullman Breakfast, the 12.05-13.05-18.03 and 19.03 all have Pullman dining out of Paddington, and from Plymouth the 06.55 has Pullman Breakfast and 12.01.-12.56-18.03 to Paddington have Pullman dining, costs are breakfast about 20 set price and Pullman dining from about 20 main course to about 45 for 3 courses. Minimum requirement is a main course, can well recommend it, really great food and service, brilliant way to spend aa few hours on a train.

    Who would have thought that railways started in England, and after all these years this is a good has you can do. Anybody looking at this in Asia must be having a good laugh.

    Lovely video, and a nice journey along the GWML, Berks & Hants, etc. Even though the HST is over 40 years old now, they have worn well, albeit with various carriage refurbs and new MTU power units.

    This is what you think is different set British railways nit so homogenous and very plush interiors it's not so much about speed but more towards passenger satisfaction

  • @Lynxfan2
    @Lynxfan2 6 лет назад

    I thought that the majority of Class 43 Power Cars and Mark 3 trailer vehicles of the High Speed Train/InterCity 125 were built in 1976 with a few being built in 1981 for both Cross Country and Midland Main Line.

    • @doc7austin
      @doc7austin  6 лет назад

      according to one british expert site the trainset 43131 was built in 1979; i dont think all class 43 trains were manufactured in just one single year in 1976

    • @Lynxfan2
      @Lynxfan2 6 лет назад

      A Class 43 is a Power Car and not a train set as such. For your information, all Mark 3 trailers are mix and match, there are no fixed formations.

    Certainly the replacement Hitachi trains are rubbish in comaparison , first class is like sitting on a stiff board , the trolley service is garbage , not hot food as they have done away with the buffet car , an example of how to encourage people away from public transport .
