Marshall jcm 900 & a Jackson a match made in heaven, got to be the best sound ever .I loved my 900 mkII, 1960 A&B cabs with a Charvette, beautiful sound.
Just bought a 1993 JCM 900. Pretty stoked to get it after watching this. Sweet Demisery shirt dude I love Keith Merrow haha. Rock on man! Good playing.
I run my jcm900 into my orange cab also and get much better tones than i did through my marshall cab. Those v30s definitely bring out the chime in a 900. Great video man!
Might have to try one of these through a cab loaded with either Eminence Man O War or Eminence Governor speakers. The Governors are an excellent choice for a brutal sounding speaker without the shrill high end that the V30 has, and offers much more clarity than the V30. The Man O War has some really nice sound treble frequencies with a more kind of open sounding midrange if that gives a visual description. Pairing it with a Sennheiser e906 is the absolute best way to get a really sick sounding tone. Definitely take some time to check those out man, I think you’d really dig those speakers paired with that head!
Nice playing and guitar and amp. I'm trying to get back into learning and practicing got a line 6 pod XT having trouble getting something decent guitar wise cuz I got bills . I thought of Harley Benton sg but ..
Yeah thes older 900’s are sometimes overlooked, I really love the tone from them. With an od in the front, It can get pretty brutal. The 6505’s are killer too though.
dude nice! do you still know what settings you used on the amp? is the boost going through the fxloop or just the front? what setting on the pedal? what tubes are you using. i need answers dammit! :p
+Metal86BE I️ don’t remember exactly but I️ know the gain was all the way up and the presence was all the way down. I’m pretty sure my bass/mid/treble were around 12 o’clock. The overdrive was in front of the amp and not in the loop.
Sorry I don’t. The only thing I can remember is the presence was all the way down and the gain was all the way up. I usually set the eq on my amps around 12 o’clock give or take.
Nick Scarfo thanks for your feedback! I have a jcm800 but I'm looking for a high gain amp and don't know if buying a Mesa mark or remaining on the british-marshall sound with a jcm900 or dsl but afraid that the marshall won't have as much gain as the mesa. What would you recommend?
In my opinion the 800 kills both the 900 and dsl tonewise when boosted. The Mesa will have a more saturated gain. I had a dsl 2000 awhile back and it had plenty of gain but was not as aggressive as say the 800 or 900.
Nick Scarfo mmm ok, let's keep away the dsl then :D The 800 is awesome for classic stuff ala Iron Maiden at last. But when I boost it with the ge7 and sd1 I got maybe too much noise, especially at high volumes obviously. Anyway, is your Peavey "dry" against the jcm900? It's anothe option for me but maybe it sounds a little bit harsh. Or are the v30's making this effect?
Are you using a noise gate to control the noise? The 800 can nail brutal dm tones no problem, Rutan swears by it when he tracks for hate eternal. Not sure what peavey you are talking about?
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 Do you still have all of your teeth where they are supposed to be ? Cause judging by the way you act, someone should have knocked the life out of your teeth a long time ago. Learn to act with politeness when you talk to strangers. Now back to the topic of amp and tone. He didn't state if the pedal is bypassed or activated, he said he's using active pups. Thus it's necessary for me to ask if that green maxon or ibanez or whatever the name is was on or off during the demo. You should know Mr smart ass that because the pedal is on top of the amp it doesn't mean it's activated or turned on. Now get lost.
This wins award for best 900 demo sound ... great player as well ... nice job bro.
Tone Driver SS Thanks so much man!
Much deserved , bro ... rock-on ! That 900 in your hands , sounds like million bucks .... because you know what you are doing ! Excellent !

Nice playing man, great sound! I love my 900 DR! Such underrated amps.
Also, that shirt!! ;)
Thanks Gord, gotta support good music!
I have one of these amps, boosted by a Tubescreamer feels lots of heavy. Nice playing, man!
love the 900. especially with the scary mod, and an sd1.
I run my jcm900 into my orange cab also and get much better tones than i did through my marshall cab. Those v30s definitely bring out the chime in a 900. Great video man!
Those Vintage 30's are the secret, i use them in my Oranges and Marshall cabs.
this was awesome love the jcm 900 4100

fuck yeah that sounds crisp
Glad to see someone sitting and holding the Guitar properly, not on your right leg like everyone does!
Paul Wolfe lol man, its art. There's no proper way to do any of this.
@Paul Wolfe
Who made _you_ the authority on how someone plays an instrument?
Nice playing and guitar and amp. I'm trying to get back into learning and practicing got a line 6 pod XT having trouble getting something decent guitar wise cuz I got bills . I thought of Harley Benton sg but ..
Overall do you like the JCM900 or EVH more?
Looks like you're pumping it through a Tube Screamer Maybe? Driving them tubes for sure
Was looking for a nice amp to math the 6505+ I have and holy shit this thing is evil man!! Almost regret my 6505 purchase

Definitely got the Marshall Corral that's corralled
Yeah got to add in a little Reverb it is a dual Reverb got to have that Hall sound sounds tight no Reverb then actuate's it
Great sound. Please, do you have the mini tube screamer on?
@@kralas111 thanks. In the video the text shows when it’s on and off
@@NICKSCARFO83 Ok, I just see the guitar connected via OD
@ yeah so the first half is with the od off and the second half is with it on.
Nice chops brother:)
What 900 model is this?
Can a leopard change his spots no but a 900 can scramming it
What were the amp settings
What settings?
Pffff love it. Dual Reverb? i like the mkiii.
Yes this is the dual reverb model.
Nice but i think that with fortin 33 would be killer !
what year did they reissue the JCM 900 DR.?
Awesome!

+Metal86BE This had EL34 tubes
awesome demo :) :)
will you also demo the ENGL Metalmaster?
Do you remember the amp settings?
Sorry I don’t. The only thing I can remember is the presence was all the way down and the gain was all the way up. I usually set the eq on my amps around 12 o’clock give or take.
Killer tone! Is this the 4500 50 watt or the 4100 100 watt?
100w
Like razor blades !
Do you feel it lacks gain and needs to be boosted or is it ok for tight old school death metal riffing?
It’s definitely lower gain without the boost. I felt it needed it

Great video! Do you remember how loud the amp was for getting this sound?
Thanks. The volume was just under 1/2 way up, maybe even less. I was in an apartment so I know it wasn’t that loud
Ok, great, thanks a lot!
nice demo nick!! would you be willing to sell me your Jackson rr1?
Settings on the marshall
Tuning used?
Rui Vicente standard B
was this tone obtained with the help of a pedal ?
did you watch the video or are you vision impaired? what is on the head? what is plugged into what is on the head?
