  • A 5 hour drive on the remote winter highways from Hay River to Yellowknife is an experience. The north of Canada is such a special place. In the Northwest Territories the scenery, wildlife, and vast untouched beauty is something that you will never forget. This past summer it was devastated by wildfires. My home town of Hay River with just over 3000 residents was evacuated for 5 weeks, and the whole city of Yellowknife with just over
20 000 residents had an evacuation as well. Through it all, the resilience of the North and its people has prevailed, and its stunning beauty and northern charm are as strong as ever.
