Actually, no he does not. He reports directly to the President. Under executive privilege, the AG can not be compelled to release audio tapes of his boss. Congress has no legislative purpose for getting those tapes. No matter how much they complain about it.

@@rayloc420 No he did not admit the tapes were altered. The only one who gave conflicting reports was SC Hurr. That has nothing to do with AG Garland having to give the tapes up. If the GOP wanted to, they would hold Hurr in contempt, but will not since he is a Trump supporter and Republican. If the GOP really cared about oversight, they would ask to hear the tapes behind closed but not keep them. But they only want them for political ammunition. Total BS.
