Kreia, the Jedi Master who trained Revan during his way as a Jedi, stated:"It was like looking at the heart of the Force itself, vibrant and flowing endlessly, he was the greatest and most powerful Jedi, firstly, and Sith Lord, secondly, of his time and maybe even of the times which will follow".

He did join up with Obi-Wan and Anakin in the Clone Wars episodes that had them trapped together as prisoners to pirates. He and Obi-Wan seemed to enjoy each other and liked working together. It was odd seeing them as reasonably pleasant allies under the right circumstances. Of course, he used the excuse that he didn't kill them because they were tied together and he would have to drag their bodies but later the line is broken by blaster fire. So, they probably could have found a way to get apart.
I think if Obi-Wan had accepted that the Republic and Jedi were too corrupt he and Dooku could have been friends. Assuming Dooku stopped serving Sidious and massacring civilians.

Dooku to me always seemed like a Grey force user rather than a Sith or Jedi, he remains Calm and collected right up until the end, his actions never seemed to come from anger or hate but from objective and whether or not he was trying to Trick Obiwan on Genosis, the goal was still to raise awareness of a Sith lord being in control of the senate.
    just my 2 cents

  • @mr-timmons
    @mr-timmons 2 года назад

Dooku never fully gave in to the dark side. It never ruled him, he was too principled for that. Honestly, Dooku is one of the most interesting characters in the franchise. Like, consider how often he fights Obi-wan and Anikin and only ever inflicts non-lethal wounds. Saving when he takes Ani's arm off, he really only inflicts remarkably minor wounds on them, despite the fact that they are there to stop him or take him down.

Count Dooku is basically the Anton LaVey of Star Wars. They both knew how to use the dark side at a better part.
LaVey embraced the feelings of Egotism and Individualism. Dooku was more political. LaVey was also a more darker person while being a nice guy and a very wise man using his knowledge. Same with Count Dooku, he used his knowledge to still defeat Jedis,
Only LaVey did not defeat christians, only mocked them and made parodies of them.

Dooku to me is more a fallen Jedi manipulated by Plagueis and Palpatine. He did it for his home leaving the jedi order. He wanted to save the republic. He was manipulated and used by Palpatine. Then tossed aside. As Plagueis says the sith take control of the force. Not summing the force for help like a jedi. As a dark side user, you need to make yourself desirable to the dark side of the force. The force to Plagueis is what I would call alive. It seems to like playing games with them. That's why it created Anakin after he tried to make a force being. It reminds me of the Balance between Choas and Law in Micheal Moorcock which went on to create modern fantasy as we know. GOT, witcher, Warhammer, DND, etc
Choas and law both fight having warriors on each side. But Choas doesn't want to win since that would be the end of them with entropy. And Law doesn't want to win either.

You hit on it pretty well actually; Dark Side energy corrupts living matter, especially organic tissue. Dooku had far too much pride and self-control and RESTRAINT, which was sort of a central point of his character, to let the Dark Side control him and drive his actions. His actions were always driven by his own personal reasons and logic backing them, rather than impulsiveness. Anakan only showed the dark side corruption in his eyes when fully embracing it and Palpatine is almost a physical manifestation of the Dark Side by the time he drops his mask, and Maul lived it his whole life, all the way to his death on Tattooine.

Because Count Dooku was never a Sith, he didn´t kill Obiwan nor Anakin when he had a clear chance for both, why? because he didn´t mean to, throwing the tower to them was just because he knew master Yoda would use the force to avoid them getting smashed (he was his disciple and knew what Yoda was able to do...), giving him a chance to escape.
I think Dooku realised how blind the Jedi were about the rising menace of the dark side of the force, and infiltrate himself into enemy lines to get information and, eventually, destroy Palpatine somehow..

Or the real answer: Christopher Lee is a high profile actor and they didn't give him Sith eyes because of this ( also most likely Sith eyes would look too goofy on someone like him who had decent screen time in the movie).

Arguably he didn't even go through the full Sith training. Sidious may have been the last one to receive that, as Vader was also able to keep a part of him in the light.

Didn't Count Dooku spend all that time fighting a separatist war knowing he was never going to win it and that he was working for the Chancellor the whole time or did he not know they were the same person? Christopher Lee is a legend, I doubt they would have pushed him to wear yellow contacts when they got him to play the role.

Dooku was not consumed by evil. He saw the force as two sides of the same coin, not allowing himself to be consumed by either "side". His intentions in joining with Sidious were good, he saw that the jedi were corrupt and no longer stood with the force, and saw that the republic cared more about its economy than its people, it sickened him, and he was promised change by Sidious.

Having a red lightsaber isn’t significant to being to the dark side. Just as a Nikon with a blue blade makes him a light side following Jedi.

Count Dooku was kind of a Black Knight. He didn't let the anger consume him and he had his own way of doing things. I'd say he was honorable but he clearly does unhonorable things which I assume he feels is for the better good. In fighting he preferred to fight like a gentleman rather than a rabid animal.

Palpatine’s face is disfigured because Mace Windu threw the force lighting back at him, not because he is a Sith.

I hate the fact that Dooku went to the Dark Side and became a Sith, but I really respect the fact that he was a man of self control and discipline. He embodied the darkside and used it the darkside, but the darkside never used him. He truly is a master. I just wish he was a master for good instead of evil.

If children are taken as infants into the Jedi order and essentially have no contact with their families, how does being an aristocrat have any bearing on Dooku’s disposition? He was raised the same way as Obi Wan, Qui Gon, Windu, etc,….

Like Yoda Count Dooku probably wanted to learn both sides of the force but once he became a Sith he couldn't return to the light side without enduring the wrath of Palpatine

part of the reason Duku was such a "great" swordsmen is due to his style and lightsaber. Id also like to point out the species difference between maul and duku.. Even without being a sith Maul would have weird colored eyes.

Of course Tyranus didn't appear Sith eyes because he could perfectly control his anger and hatred and knew how to settle. Tyranus was a jentleman unlike many Sith. He was a man in culture.

The way I see it, the yellow eyes indicate that the dark side of the force has taken possession. In other words, the Sith with yellow eyes are the ones that are no longer masters of the dark side. They are ones who are slaves of the dark side. This means that Darth Sidious is no master, but Count Dooku was. And perhaps this meant that he didn't have as much power as he otherwise would display, but at least the power he wielded was truly his. It makes me wonder what would have happened if he became a gray Jedi embracing both the light and the Darkness mastering both without letting either Master him.
