- Jammcard had the rare opportunity of capturing Audra Mae singing her great-grandaunt's iconic song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" live in beautiful Studio A of United Recording, on the famed Motown Steinway, played by Jammcard member, Dylan Meek.
Mae, a singer and songwriter for artists such as Christina Aguilera, The Chainsmokers, Little Big Town, Fall Out Boy, Céline Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Pentatonix and Avicii, had never put this song out into the world before now. She had only played it one time at a house in the hills with Dylan Meek that Judy Garland used to frequent. "I was afraid of my interpretation being misread as exploitative" she said.
We are so happy she decided to share this beautiful song with the world. We hope it fills your heart and makes you smile.
"I hope everyone who lays eyes or ears on our Jammcard performance feels our total sincerity. Most of all, I hope every true fan of Judy Garland and Harold Arlen (the original composer) feels the respect and reverence we have for her immense power and immortal influence over everyone who came after her. Without her, there would be no us. So, here’s to Judy and to Harold. Forever may she reign as the queen of our hearts. And forever may he be remembered as the man who penned one of the most iconic ballads of all time." ~ Audra Mae

I generally don’t listen to anyone but Judy sing “Rainbow, but listened because it’s her grand-niece. Blowwwwwn away. Not just a stellar voice but a unique and exceptional arrangement. Wow.
What I love the most about Audra Mae's rendition of this song is that she made it her own, and didn't try to copy her great grandaunt's version. Well done, and so beautiful.
Audra is Judy Garlands great great niece, the granddaughter of her sister Dorothy or Jimmie as she was nicknamed. She also co-wrote Susan Boyle’s beautiful ballad, “Who I Was Born To Be” from her debut album.
Dave Jordan thank you for the info !
All the Gumm sisters were insanely talented, and Audra sure has it and than some. I can hear Judy in Audra’s lower range, but yet so unique ❤️. Love the piano arrangement too.
Audra, amazing. You had a high bar due to your heritage, and you jumped over it with ease...and made the song your own...well "borrowed". Well done, and kudos to the arrangement and your pianist. Bellisimo!
Touching. You are incredible Audra Mae. I have tears. I am moved as I was the first time I watched Judy Garland sing it in Wizard of Oz when I was a child.
I can't get enough of this girls voice...Good God she is amazing.
Simply beautiful.
Never heard that song sung that way either did anybody listen to Ruby shoes you all seem to be such great fans I don't know how great it was being related to her and what difference does it make Audra and I have never Audra and I may not always see eye-to-eye but what a beautiful arrangement it was I can't say she's a better singer then Judy I can say she's a different singer than Judy but just as talented I think Ruby shoes is a better song for her probably because she wrote it our family whether she wants to admit I'm in it or not has always avoided capitalizing on the Judy Garland thing for lots of reasons number one no one's ever going to believe you my mother used to say a number two if we were going to make it in some sort of entertainment we were going to make it on our own and she's already done that long before she sang that song I pretended to be a fool but it still made me cry and graduations Audra by the way if you do ever get to hear this comment I want you to know I'm very proud of you despite your feelings for me. Your Aunt Stephanie
You are an awesome aunt Steph. Tell it like it IS
She is so talented. It’s in the family.
She is the great granddaughter of Jimmy gumm Judy Garland’s sister.
Love your voice and talent, Audra - so beautiful
most beautiful amazing thing i've heard in a long time
Great voice, simply stunning! Very classy, high quality of sound. Thank you Jammcard for sharing such great project. You have our support! :)
What a beautiful sound it is
Only women in that family can sing that song. Wow, she made it really her now. Such finesse in spots. She nailed, it's aspirational and not dirge like some many make it - she didn't just emote or play mood - she made in into a dramatic monologue set to music. Bravo MISS AUDRA
Audra is incredible
I love love love your voice and your take on this iconic song. Well done!
