Thank you. We just need more people demoing active pickups who know how to do something other than chugging.
Another big advantage of active pick-ups (or an active preamp in the guitar) is that they always output a buffered signal. That means you can remove a buffer at the front of your pedalboard and/or not worry about losing tone through long cables.
I love playing clean on my active emg pickups!! The range is insane. Great video guys.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who occasionally plays funk stuff on active pickups. 😁
I’ve had EMG’s in my ‘72 Telecaster since 1987 and they are still going strong. I have 6 of my 12 electrics loaded with actives. Kinda wish all of them where equipped with them. 3 sets of EMG’s and my 3 other sets are from GFS (Guitarfetish). The GFS pickups are more than half the cost and are just as good as the latter. GFS electronics are ok but not as good as EMG’s but work just fine. I play mainly country & blues. Looking forward to purchase the Fishman Fluence for one of my Telecasters someday…
Great video guys! Thank you 😊
I love this demo so much. ❤
Steve lukather. David Gilmour Used EMG. And Gary Moore played With EMG 81 On his famous Stockholm concert 1987.
I remember our second guitar player back at school doing blues licks on his active ESP / LTD Les Paul, and it sounded like a regular Les Paul.
This channel and the guys very special and important for me. Love this channel for rest my life.
We really, really appreciate that my dude, thank you!! Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Thank you Kris thank you!!! I cant agend number but im contacting in telegram. I'm really emotive and I can't write. Thank you with all my heart, you have fulfilled the dream of my life.
I use EMG pickups in Telecasters and Stats as well as LPs and SuperStrats. They sound great in everything and can be used to play anything. I get that some folks don't like batteries, but there are so many advantages.
Excellent video. Have you done, or will you do an equivalent video for bass?
I love actives , i own two and soon three guitars , all fitted with emg moderns or retros
Great video. I don’t need active pickups now and will save some money. But I will probably spend it on an new guitar I don’t need either.
I don't get all the hate for actives.
I love not being the ground too and not getting shocked and not hearing all the noise. They just sound great and the volume and tone controls actually work...
I'm playing a strat with three EMG SAs and love them. I also have a strat with an 85 b and 60 n and love them. ❤
Great video! Never payed much attention to active pickups, I learned something. Is it just me or is there reverb on the voices?
Thanks Thomas! Our new (and amazing) studio is still not 100% finished. Some acoustic elements are missing and it's a biiiig room. That's what you're hearing and don't worry, we will take care of the "lively reverb" of the room very soon. :) //Kris
For a moment I thought HB started selling guitars with Fishman fluence pickups. Still hoping :)
Well, without hearing a comparison, I think it is impossible to say if these pickups sound different than others. They do sound good, though.
I was on the fence before this video. Now I’m convinced it’s what I need ☺️ heard they struggle with fuzzes though ?
Hi buddy, that's awesome to hear. :) Yeah fuzzes can be tricky because of the 25k pots of active guitars. There are quite a few more modern fuzzes though with a built-in "pickup simulator". Those fuzzes can be anywhere in the signal chain and those will work perfectly with active pickups too. Cheers //Kris
“The rock that your dad hates.” You mean Cannibal Corpse? 😁 Because most other genres of metal my dad actually enjoys by now.
For the first time in the whole "All the sounds with a ..." - series I'm not really completely convinced. But hey - then I just go and don't play active pus and everything's fine, right?
As always, great and interesting video with the right amount of fun, too!
Heyyy yo men, cool guitars & pickups, have a cool rock day Kris and Guillaume, Guillaume your name is a bit long but cool.
That's why we simply call him G. 😅 Thanks so much! //Kris
Oh no, Gilly didn't do the My Curse! 😅
Maybe next time. Most probably next time. 😆 Cheers //Kris
😄👏👏👏💥

12:10 Holy fuck dude.
Right? 😜 So good. //Kris
Gas guys in action -)😃but cool guys
great video for all uneducated active pickup haters
I mean, i could but then that would stop me from buying another guitar 😘
I'm kinda tired of people saying you can get every sound with actives. Can you dial up a P90 tone for me?
Hey man, thanks for the comment! It's not that much about simulating other pickups when playing music, is it? The question was if you can play different styles and sound good with active pickups. And my conclusion here is a big yes. :) Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses thats not every sound then, title is misleading
Considering the technology fishman uses, they could in fact create a p90 modeled sound into the pickup. But they usually only do that process for signature pickups.
@@RyanDoesLife fishman makes active p90s, the greg koch signature set.
I've never seen someone with down syndrome play so good. The guy in the left in the black shirt please better with his handicap than I've heard regular people....
