  • Droping a stunning 100 feet per mile, just 40 minutes from Manuel Antonio National Park, breathes the start of Costa Rica’s best whitewater adventure. Chorro section starts in the mountain village of Esquipulas. Our route carved deep into the river’s exposed bedrock, making this thrilling section of the Naranjo River an exception to the geological youth of Costa Rica. This 3km canyon had exceptional drops and steep runs through 12 technical narrow rapids
Paddle Hard and get down!!! Our group had to squeeze through the gorge’s tight rock walls, maneuver and carve around massive boulders and bends, and sweep down drops through challenging chutes.
Dragon’s Tail, Chorro Rapid and Stacy’s Lament are some of the challenges that you will paddle through. Between runs we have the opportunity to witness untouched tropical forest yielding various species of birds such as the Chestnut Mandible Toucan, Aracaris, and several kinds of Kingfishers.
We had excellent tour guides who has our safety as their number one priority! We highly recommend this exhilarating adventure if visiting the Manuel Antonio area of Costa Rica!
