Swamp Exploration in Illinois! | Heron Pond Trail

June 2024. Part one of our last day in Illinois was to Todd Fink Heron Pond Trail. It's a swamp in Illinois! We encountered snakes and soooo many mosquitos, while I got to live out my Return to Oz adventures 😁 It was a very pretty trail (even prettier in person) and a pretty easy one, too, if you're comfortable crossing a few streams and jumping over obstacles.
