Considering one of those is promoting Sephiroth’s hair products, I feel like that isn’t really a well kept secret to their plans of operations…
@@mas8705 No, the secret is just HOW anime they go.
If you think about it, FF7's basically: Spiky haired kid makes a promise with his osananajimi to become a Soldier to follow in the footsteps of his idol, the great hero Sephiroth; A long white haired bishounen samurai with a huge katana. He grows up with selective amnesia as a bishounen himself, wielding a giant sword, his osananajimi grows up to be a busty bishoujo who knows kungfu. The cutscenes are movie quality. I love the energy of the group too. Notice how Barret doesn’t get mad at Cloud for calling him heavy lol.
Literally as good as advent children at 60fps. Only difference is enviormental assets being lower quality compared to the movie. But with lumen in ue5 they can create enviorments on that level

WHY DOES BARRET LOOK SO DAMN GOOD WITHOUT GLASSES. HIS EYES ARE GORGEOUS

@@ron8162 why do i want to hear Avalanche Time in Part 2
Facts.
Barret has been making me question things about myself ever since Remake came out last year. Definitely looks better than he did in Advent Children.
My take: The devs aren't satisfied with just re-creating the events of the OG game. They want to re-create the feelings you felt while playing it. A big part of that was the confusion you felt surrounding Zack. He just shows up in the OG game, you have no idea who he is, what's going on, if this is real or an illusion, it's total confusion. On purpose. If they just retold the same story again, there would be no confusion or surprise because we all know the events already. So this time, they introduce Zack in a new way, change the circumstances surrounding him, and successfully manage to make his story confusing again - to everyone, new and old players alike.
And the same thing is going to happen, where they're going to keep his story deliberately confusing for a time. I'd bet Part 2 includes multiple scenes with Zack where it's still not clear if he's on another timeline, if the scenes we're seeing are in the past or present, etc. And I think much of that confusion will center in Nibelheim. And then we're later going to get definitive answers about what's going on with Zack, just like we did in the OG when Cloud fell in the Lifestream.
@@Dairunt1 Pretty much! They did similar things with Sephiroth in Remake. He was ultra scary the first time around because he seemed so powerful. You followed in his tracks and just saw him killing President Shinra, the Midgar Zolom, etc. He seemed almost mythical. Well, this time around, he won't be a mystery to you anymore. So they can't just keep him off screen and make him as intimidating, because you already know all about him.
So what do they do? They give him power over fucking time itself and the ability to know exactly what your party is going to do. So now he's back to seeming completely all-powerful and borderline unstoppable. Same concept. They're finding ways of re-instilling the same feelings and reactions in you that you had to the OG game the first time you played it.
And thats what the haters don't understand. They lack the intelligence to see all this. All they wanna see is that their OG game is ruined by remakes. They need to put that nostalgia google down.
Absolutely. OG fans were worried that new players would be too confused by Zack showing up out of nowhere but we were introduced to him the same way. Hey it's Cloud with black hair! Wait what?? The theme of them recreating the (feelings) even if it isn't a one for one in how they are introduced is spot on.
For sure they know how to make us speculate, just like with Zack’s last scene.
feel like your initial statement is pretty proven just by the fact that you kill fate in the remake and thus the metaphorical chains that bind the players to the events of the original game.
Can we just say this version of Cloud is awesome, and he actually smiled I'm so happy 😊💗
This is how he was in the original too, it was just hard to tell because of the lego models lol.
The hardass routine actually got dropped early on in the original, and then he even relaxed and cracked jokes somtimes.
His bad reputation is mostly from Kingdom Hearts and Advent Children. Though in Advent Children he at least had good reasons to be depressed.

@@rubemevangelista3868 I guess Minecraft too. You know it's cool that for games like FF8 they're normal models. No Chibi. So mods which replaces em are good and doesn't feel weird. But the Remaster did remaster em pretty well. Just the Backgrounds that are bad.
I finally teared up at Yuffie witnessing the plate falling. The quality of the cutscene is insane and it comes right after Sonon dies. Tearing up really caught me off guard. Didn't feel like I even had control of it--I was just immersed in the moment of the story. There are very few games that have done that to me.
Glad other people felt this way. It was extremely horrible and effective to have her go right from Sonon dying to witness basically 9/11 happening outside, and it didn't feel forced since they set up when exactly the story was taking place ahead of time. That's too much trauma in one day for Yuffie 😭
Still don't get why they made that an ad. I actually got an Intergrade ad with that scream. Very short.
Edit: One good thing about that is we'll know what her reaction will be at... End of Disc 1... Since we know her reaction in OG...
This one hit hard. Especially when you take into account that not only were citizens under the plate but thousands more on the top plate as well.
Also Yuffie's scream was heartbreaking, her voice actress characterized Yuffie so well.
Since they've gone and brought in the Deepground stuff this early on, I imagine that when Vincent is introduced, they'll play a much more prominent role.
And now that Yuffie has a personal vendetta against Nero, that'll just add to the drama.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tsviets end up being bosses throughout Remake, like Azul filling in for the Behemoth fight etc.
They'll probably expound on this too in the party's return to Midgar in OG's Disc 3. Since they are after Hojo at that time, the Tsviets and Deepground will likely make a proper reappearance. It will be a huge turning point for Yuffie and Vincent's character.
@@DontXtheStream They're 100% definetly doing a Vincent DLC as well.
Which strongly suggests part 2 almost certainly won't reach Nibelheim.
Unlike Yuffie, Vincent is sleeping until the party finds him, Vincent is my favourite but leave it as it is ffs, stop changing it all!
I think Cait Sith has a better chance at having his own DLC. Maybe how he got to gold saucer and whether or not Reeve is working in Shinra’s best interests.
Zack's putting his own party together: Kunsel, Cissnei, etc
I nominate Johnny, Elfe, Veld, and Deneh to join him.
I'd love to see him team up with Biggs.
Im assuming it'll be Zack and Biggs, and if Wedge/Jessie somehow squeak out being alive they'll add-in.

Sonon's probably going to be used as a body for Genesis who's decaying since Crisis Core, he even looks like Gackt.

Don't worry He will , don't missed it because is gold.
I think that Zack is in OGFF7 timeline. The cross at the altar in remake is stone, but in OG it's wood. If you look at the cross in the Zack scene, it's also wood. So, he's probably in another timeline. Unless Square made a mistake with that cross, which I doubt considering their attention to detail.
Yeah and they made an effort to make sure you see the cross too
Yea I agree but I think he's actually in the future around the time of Advent Children. If u look at the last close-up shot of Zack, you can see in the reflection of his eyes that the left-side of the church is completely blown open. The church is in this state during the events of Advent Children (see Tifa vs Loz fight).
It’s the same cross as seen in the original and in advent children.
So many people keep getting confused with this. The cross isn't stone in the remake, in the remake there is NO cross, this isn't related at all to it being a different timeline, it's simply because at the time you're playing the story in the remake, the church is already destroyed and the wooden cross just fell off/broke. The "stone cross" you claim to be seeing isn't a cross at all. It's just a dark faded outline of the wooden cross that was there before the church got wrecked. A lot of ppl keep spreading this bullshit when in reality there is NO cross in the time of the story in the remake. In this particular zack scene which is obviously set BEFORE the church got destroyed, obviously the cross would still be there. There was always only ever one cross, there was never a stone cross. There are many other reasons you could use in the remake for the timeline theory, but this cross isn't one of them.
What if Zack is neither in the past or the present whether alternate or otherwise, but is actually in the future old timeline post FF7 or Post Advent Children? lol
Knowing Sonon was gonna die at the end didn't make it any less heartbreaking.
Really, I felt like he didn’t get much development. I actually didn’t care when he died, it was sad, but he needed more development imo.

Personally in the constraints of the DLC given, Sonon was brilliantly done. He’s not particularly well written in terms of complexity and his story is nothing new but he was integrated so well that it didn’t matter. Also SPOILERS…
Having Sonon sacrifice himself to save Yuffie as a game mechanic to foreshadow what happens later in the actual story was pretty brilliant.
Also the Sonon and Melphie Da-Chao bean scene is seriously underrated. Saw someone with a great take say that since Da-chao beans are only edible to ninjas, and Sonon couldn’t eat it in his hallucination, he’s lost his identity and knows it - hence why he says “damn” and replicates holding Melphie. He’s being stripped of his humanity so he tries to hold on to the most human thing about him before becoming a corpse-puppet.

@@galaxy_kitten95 I honestly just wonder if Zack and Aerith are going to meet
He is likely still in the alternate timeline at the end, and something bad happened to Aerith in that timeline. People saying the people in the church are refugees from Sector 7--it would be too early for those events to have occurred by the time Zack returned to Midgar with Cloud and visit Aerith. And for anyone saying the past is rewritten--he still has his sword, so Cloud shouldn't have that same sword.
I think I heard someone say the plate was still up and the stain glass window in the church was different, implying yes a different timeline
There is no different universe in FF7, so ... I would prefer it to be a vision of the lifestream, like an optimal way imagined by the planet for her souls, a kind of memory.
It would take too much writing to explain why this is probably true in more detail, but in short, if Zack is in the main timeline now what happened to Cloud and the rest of the cast? Is there doubles of everyone now?
How can that happen? The World would be plunged into chaos if that's true, so that means Rufus knew his Father died, but suddenly he's alive again? That's pretty suspicious, President Shinra would most likely just be sitting in his office, meaning he'd just appear out of thin air.
And now that would also mean that there's two groups of Turks, none of that makes any sense, and it would quickly ruin the story, but it's not unheard of from Nomura I guess.
I'm really hoping this is still just the alternate timeline.

In OG FFVII Barret initially elects himself as leader, too. But shortly afterwards, the group basically shoots it down.
But here this is all just Barret talking. No gameplay is happening/PHS so it makes sense that the group wouldn't decide just yet. Cloud is the somewhat reluctant to step up leader.
That ending made me she a tear not gonna lie, damn my heart

This game looks so incredible in 60FPS.
A lot of people I’ve talked to think the Zack scene takes place in the alternate timeline, noting that the flowers look different then when you’re there as Cloud (I’d have to check to confirm that.) and that something bad happened to Aerith in the alternate timeline. Either way, I’m intrigued as to where this will go.
I don’t know why people think this or even come up with these sort of theories but the flowers are the same, I just watched it again, but to me all I got from it was that he’s alive and well, and this was after the plate fell hence why people were in the church recovering. By this point Cloud and company had already left Midgar I assume. I could be wrong but I think people have a tendency to make more out of things than what’s already there or being presented.
@@axelstone3131 even if the flowers are the same which i'll agree with, one thing that is definitely odd is that Zack seems to be carrying the Buster Sword. there are only a couple logical explanations for why Cloud and Zack both seem to have the Buster Sword... Zack is in another timeline, Zack has somehow entered the timeline that Cloud and the gang are in. Or... its the past. Obviously, regardless Zack is somehow alive. But it is a little strange that he's carrying the Buster Sword from what it looks like.
@@granddaddyotaku636 Or maybe this game is complete Reboot and the events from the OG didn't happen at all or the way we think they will. I wouldn't be surprised at this point. 😒🙄
@Nobody i think this is correct
The flowers aren't "different" but they're wilted. Considering Aerith's connection to the church and Gaia, the flowers being wilted is a big sign that something is wrong.
Yeah I'm gonna go with the idea that the different Stamp design on the bag wasn't a Red Herring, but just a misinterpretation. If we had seen Cloud and co leaving the city and there was a billboard with the original Stamp on it, then yes, alternate timeline. But all we saw was that the dog was different, to represent the timeline being changed. For my money, what I think is happening is that when Cloud and co killed the Whispers, it retroactively made anyone who was fated to die (and influenced by them to die) retroactively no longer meet that fate. The world events still played out as we saw them in the game, but anyone who didn't return to the lifestream because of the Whispers forcing their death basically jumps forward to catch up with the events like a record skipping. Hence Biggs being alive, Jessie and Wedge possibly too, and Zach finding himself in Midgar post-plate drop but not even dwelling on why Cloud is suddenly no longer with him.
What's gonna be interesting if this is the case, is that it might have an even worse meltdown on Cloud's part if he gets told by Sephiroth "You're a failed clone, all your memories are from someone else." And then that someone else *shows up in person* affirming it to be true even more than a photograph.
Wait…I like this! And it makes sense too. I guess we’ll see.
Also Yuffie probably has some of the most balanced gameplay so far. She can damn near do damage to everything. Her and Tifa make Excellent DPS characters with Yuffie being able to deal with Aerial enemies better than her
Her gameplay is based on the fact that this is a DLC where she's the only playable character though.
They needed to make her this good because you have no other options.
Once she joins the main party however, they'll either nerf her or buff the rest of the party.
@@jackjacques7495 I feel like she fits perfectly as is tho so far. She's still swishy. Doesnt have the same DPS potential as Tifa but can handle aerial enemies better than Tifa but not as well as Barret. The only thing that makes her slightly OP is her built in Elemental Ninjutsu and dodge. These make her beyond good. She fits a role which I dont feel needs to be Nerfed. The only nerd they could give her is making other characters handle air combat better but that's it.

Let's hope that's not the case... yeah?
i am in team lets hope its the case that makes the stakes for the Death of Main Timeline Aerth so much bigger, and maybe a motivation for Zack to find out what happend.
Nomura isn't the story writer
Im willing to bet the sadness they are experiencing in the church might be overflow from those lost in the plate collapse, rather than Aeris being dead. I think that the timelines are gonna get a little messy now.
That was my first thought too is she was dead and they were there mourning her but now I’m more convinced it’s the sector 7 survivors and Zacks new voice actor just sucks 🙃
@@MrJollyNelson the 1 thing that bothers me about that is everything about the direction. The music, the Dutch angle, Zack’s reaction. If Aerith just wasn’t there he’d say “oh she’s not home lol also what’s going on?” not stand there like he saw something he didn’t want to see.
I had to come back here after seeing everything for Rebirth.
I’m so beyond excited…..
The ending of this, and everything for Rebirth just has this amazing feeling of fellowship I haven’t felt in decades!
I'd love to see someone talk about the angel that appears at the end of Crisis Core just before the outro song hits! Did that really symbolize death, or has Square been planning this since that scene? Were those feathers a phoenix down or some kind of healing materia? Who has wings that would have picked Zack up? Seemed like Angeal died, but did he pick Zack up while he was dying? Was it Genesis? Was it Sephiroth (and why)?
That was Angeal taking Zack into the lifestream.
@@christianrosado8838 I assumed that, but Intermission ending makes me wonder. Also guessing that it had to be Lazard-Angeal since the glove looks lighter colored than Zack's.
Max with the Troll 10000. "This is Zack now. Zack is Nero."
Such a great DLC. Surprising length and quality. Made me infinitely more excited for part 2
I think it’s a different parallel universe in which he’s alive. He has the sword so he never gave it to Cloud. Very interesting.
It’s unlikely there is only one buster sword in the world of final fantasy 7. Like the real world there are thousand of the same weapon.
@@axelstone3131 The buster sword IS a unique weapon. This is explained in Crisis Core. It was custom made for Angeal by his parents, who then gave it to Zack, who then gave it to Cloud. There aren't others like it in any stores. If Zack has it, that means Cloud can't. And viceversa. Which confirms that they're not on the same timeline/dimension.
Max probably figured this out minutes after he ended the video.
@@jackjacques7495 Could it have been a flashback instead?
At this point, Max is gonna lose it with the Weiss simulator fight for sure. 🤣

And Max’s videos saves the week again
I'm fairly certain the Zack is still in a "what if" scenario (explaining why 2 different Clouds passed each other at the end). In this world, Cloud never meets Aerith and she's successfully captured by Shinra, the plate falls and causes dramatically more devastation (all the people crying in the church)...
Max might be on to something with his parallel timelines theory regarding Cloud & Zack’s stories, especially with the idea of them converging for Part 3.
I heard a better theory stating that the events of the original FF7 are shown to Aerith in a vision via the life stream/planet at the start of Remake. Sephiroth is also aware of the events becuase he was thrown into the life stream. The Whispers exist to prevent Aerith and Sephiroth from causing a change in these events, but since Cloud and friends defeat the Arbitrator of Fate, they are free to make their own futures, no longer shackled to the chains of destiny. The scenes we see of Zack actually occur prior to the events of the game. The poster of Nose that flies by Zack is a reimagined version the character. It's stated by Tifa and Barret that Nose was plagiarize by Shinra, so naturally a redesign of him isn't implausible. As for what we see at the end of Yuffie's story, it's still possible that it exists in the past, but we have no idea of knowing when this event occurs.
@@tryinglyon his name is Stamp!

Seems like the people in the church were mourning Aeriths death? A timeline where Zack lives and Aerith dies perhaps?
Nah im pretty sure it was just a group of survivors from sector 7 crying because they lost their houses
That was my first thought too, I think they're actually seperate timelines, one where Zack lives but Aerith dies, and the other being the main timeline. I think that is why Aerith decided to mess and change things, to save Zack so they could be together, perhaps not realising the timeline she saved him in is one where she doesn't exist. And we'll get a side story with Zack at some point in that world. Hopefully...

44:25 Welcome to Nomura's world. Final Fantasy Hearts: Rebirth VIIR Intergrade Part 2.5
I'm thinking now when we return to Midgar in part 3 Deepground is definitely getting involved in some way and Yuffie will have a rematch with Nero
Yuffie was my favorite character in the original seeing her get a major villan to drive a revenge story while in the group is fantastic (Makes me wonder if it'd make sense for her to even do the thing in Wutai). I didn't play the spin off games so I don't have anything previous to judge Nero on but he looks cool AF and his theme carries such a sense of dread, Yuffie is finally getting the presentation she deserves I can't wait for pt 2.
Bruh this Nero boss music is insanity
Sad that Nero doesn't have his nails done.
Yuffie has always been my favorite FF7 character. Stealing was the most fun. Understated in the original but really really well fleshed out here as she is the teenage mutant ninja turtle with a 'tude. She's a lot like Michaelangelo outwardly but with the others mixed in. They did a fine job of hinting at that the whole way through.
Her combat here is spectacular fun and exactly my playstyle with Tifa a close second. Can't wait to get her in the main story. Silly dork turtle will grow up in the Remakes.
Intergrade was balls to the walls great. So much to discover even for this old timer who has only played the original. I really want to meet Cid. He was my second favorite in the OG.
Ok you're making me use Steal in the Original as her only.
Come on Zack, get it together. The line goes "Kept you waiting, huh?", obviously.
I love how this DLC is also a playtest on how the developers of FF7R will create the many different environments that will implement for Part 2. We need to be patient with them in order to have a enjoyable atmosphere for us players to enjoy it.
Yeah, I don't mind them taking their time with part 2 knowing that this is gonna be a huuuge expansion to part 01 and they'll be able to reuse most assets for part 3. The more time they take with it the more insane it's going to be, especially if they switch over to UE5 to use nanite, allowing them to go crazy with static, highly detailed assets.
Speaking of Playtests. Crisis Core Reunion is going to be exactly that for the Flashbacks in Rebirth.
Here's something not a lot of people are talking about with the ending cutscene with the crew that I noticed: it's showing off multiple different weather effects. Heat, Wind, Rain, and Thunder/Lightning. I think those will have an effect on overworld battles. Much like how weather affects magic damage and resistances in Final Fantasy XI.
This entire ending is interesting. I like the part where Zach is in the church and says Aerith.😃
Great Playthrough Max! It's always fun watching your reaction videos! And I agree, I have 10x more questions now than I had at the end of remake. But i'm loving every bit of it! Great video!
What's amusing is his thoughts from the stream he had after watching this. Gotta say if you listen to how the music is it gives so many different vibes.

Max forgot the biggest question. Zack was with Cloud in the moments of the he was supposed to die yet lived. So.....where is Cloud in this scene?
What the heck this is mind warping...
Where is Cloud?? If this is a bunch of people crying because they lost their houses from the plate collapse then how could Cloud be with Zack AND the party at the same time???

If you're not confused about it, its because you don't know the story of FF7 and/or the compilation.
