    Darling, Violet gave birth to twins. They were Jenny and Screech. They never knew each other as their mother died. 14 years later Screech killed Jenny without knowing she was his twin sister.
    Fantastic reaction!!

      When Violet died, the kids could not have gone to their father due to his violence, so they would have gone into the cate system and not know each other. Jenny became a 'street walker' at a young age due to circumstances and Screech became a hoodlum.
      When Screech can't get hold of his friend and his girlfriend is busy - she's busy with his friend.
      Ren read an article in a newspaper which was the jumping off point for him creating thus trilogy of tales.
      Recommend Ren' acoustic/live versions of Murderer and Troubes - his busking duet with Sam Tompkins of Walking on the Moon/No Diggity + with Chinchilla doing One Dance/Drunk In Love + with his group The Big Push doing I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip-Hop. Having said this, most of Ren's outpost is masterful.

    Hi, me again. Part 1; Well, you're the one who introduced me to Ren BTW! That last reaction made me speechless, now I'm 68yrs old, and I haven't been this impressed with an artist in, like, 50yrs!!! His story telling is impeccable, this is just how ancient/medieval Bards used to get the news out to ordinary people, telling the stories that mattered.

      He dares each of us to believe in community, and to each be the change we want to see in the world.
      And we CAN change the world... even just healing one heart at a time : )

    Violet died while giving birth to twins - the twins are Jenny and Screech - Violet's tale takes place 14 years before the Jenny and Screech tales. Screech and Jenny grow up probably in childrens homes or adopted and are unaware of each other. The tragedy is that Screech kills his sister.

      I've been following JPS for years. Discovered Ren a couple month ago (and was obsessed right away). So besides binge watching a lot of old reactions to Ren from other channels, I love seeing the channels I follow for a long time, also discover Ren. Often I'm jealous of people hearing to a brilliant song for the first time, but I don't think I wanna redo watching this one for the first time. It f-ed with my head for a couple days. That's how brilliant and sad it is. Now after hearing it more often, I can enjoy it more. What an artist!

  • @nadeansimmons226
    @nadeansimmons226 7 months ago +59

    Violet is their mother. When she died they were probably put into care and were unlucky in any foster homes or not they were taken in to. Don't forget that it was 3 generational trauma. Screech was not her boyfriend. They had never met but obviously lived in the same area without knowing each other. Screech was living on the streets and Jenny was probably a hooker as she was also 14 but had walked those streets a 1000 times before and wore high heeled shoes.

    • @K8TDidToo
      @K8TDidToo 7 months ago

      Ren has said Jenny was NOT a hooker. Plenty of girls/women walk streets after dark even 1000s of times going to and from work. The assumption is based on gender and class bias.

    • @durabelle
      @durabelle 7 months ago +4

      Everything else I agree with, just contesting the last point. Someone asked on discord whether Jenny was a prostitute, and Ren replied I sure hope not, the story was messed up enough as it was (quoting from memory but something along those lines).
      Really the only thing possibly pointing towards Jenny being a prostitute are the heels, since it's not specifically implied that she's walked those streets at night. I've walked the streets in my city thousands of times before because I don't have a car, so I go everywhere by foot. Sometimes in the dark too if I've been out late for any reason. These tales are set in London where that's very plausible. Jenny also wears makeup, but so do most 14 year old girls these days (high heels less so, but some definitely do).
      Also her reaction to Screech when they first meet isn't a typical reaction for someone used to dealing with men alone at night. If she had lived that life for long enough to have walked the streets a thousand times because of it, she'd likely be way quicker with words and able to react in any other way than freezing. After the knife is introduced the situation changes of course, but Jenny froze well before that.
      I personally think she was out on the streets that night because something wasn't going well in her life ("she wanted to escape, can you blame?") and she probably wore the heels and makeup to appear older like many teenagers like to do, even if it's just to hang out with other kids and maybe try to impress the slightly older boys. This is England, where unfortunately many 14yo teens already have access to alcohol and cigarettes too (and drugs like Screech did).

    Thank you for your reaction! Violet was the mum of the twins Jenny and Screech (James) who were born 2005 (two zero zero five). She died at birth after her bf Stevie beat her up. Jenny and Screech then grew up in care not knowing of each other. Screech aged 14 runs into her and kills her not knowing she was his twin. It is unclear whether Stevie was their dad, or was it in fact Violet's own father who abused her. Exceptionally tragic tale masterfully told. Based on a newspaper article Ren read at some point and got inspiration to write this tragic tale.
    You simply cannot go wrong with anything you pick off Ren. Just keep in mind he's completely independent, only relying on his friends and often no budget to film and create these videos, especially at the start of his career. And on top of it all, battling the effects of Lyme disease that went undiagnosed for almost a decade, and that caused brain damage and multiple health complications he has been battling ever since (he was 17 when he got bitten by a tick). My personal favourites include Genesis, Power, Murderer but it is so hard to pick!! There are no bad songs by Ren!

  • @astronowolf
    @astronowolf 7 months ago +104

    You almost got it!
    Jenny and Screech was set in 2019.
    Violet’s Tale was set in 2005.
    Violet was the Mother of Jenny and Screech.
    Stevie was their violent father, who probably went to prison for murder.
    We can imagine that Jenny and Screech went into care, and were separated by the careless state.
    Raised by different families, Jenny and Screech only met on that fateful night.
    Born on the same night and died on the same night.
    Woven into that is the generational behaviours Jenny and Violet reacting to violent men in the same fearful way, and Stevie and Screech being men who use violence to express their anger.
    Great reaction!

      Stevie may have not been the father. Her dad was. Sexual abuse, her getting the welfare and a council flat (housing) at 16. Pregnant girls would be the first ones to get it , Stevie calling her a slut, etc.

      @T_Witti 7 months ago +4

    Followed this from your initial post of Ren. I'm tru;y blown over by the potent comnination of the lyrics and the guitar work. For all the modernity of the songs situations for me there's something of a Dark Minstrel quality in his presentation, the travelling troupadour going from place to place telling his tales of life's games of chance. Yes, more please.

    SPOILER ALERT!!! Part 2; okay, lot to unpack here, so it's difficult to make the connections. So the story is set in 2019, Jenny and Screech are 14. Violets tale is 2005... so we're taken back to her life when she dies giving birth to TWINS! the twins are Jenny and Screech.... I don't want this to sound patronising, so have another go at connecting the dots... Great reaction once again! Thanks, mate.

    USA Renegade here! Loving your Ren reactions! The Renegades are truly a worldwide fanbase.... to see how far we span there is a song called "Love Is Healing" by Wynand Fourie (I think that's how it's spelled), a reactor/artist from South Africa, and The Renegades - It was a song created last year while Ren was going thru a very serious relapse in his medical health due to several factors. Luckily he is currently in Mexico undergoing more stem cell transplants and very in depth and tough medical treatments to hopefully help his health, fingers crossed! Not sure how long he'll be there but do know he's in clinic 6 days a week for up to 12 hours a day currently which has caused a slight delay in his release of his first installment in the next trilogy which is based on Vincent Van Gogh then the rollout for a double album called Slaughterhouse.

    Violet was their mother she had twins obviously they would go to different homes. The implication was that her father was responsible for her pregnancy because you don’t get a flat so quickly without some terrible reason like living under those conditions at home. The boyfriend she had probably didn’t tell him straight away. Jenny was possibly a prostitute “walking the streets” and the high heels and rosy cheeks. If people read these stories and are not connected to the victims they usually say “It’s such a shame” and carry on with their lives!
    There’s no end to Ren’s talents. He did a song called Suicide about his best friend who very sadly took his own life as Ren rushed to try and save him. He plays piano on that track.
    Thank you for reacting to Ren’s works of art - you’re a true Renegade now! ❤

    violet was pregnant, when the dr saved the baby it was twins. they were adopted or fostered , never knew each other. they were jenny and screech. violet was their mother. they were star-crossed siblings! age-old story of strange karmas, and sociopathy.

      @Joe_Sheffield You'll be gobsmacked by this guy's range and catalog. What you've seen so far is the tiniest fraction of what he can do. On top of it all, he's an extraordinarily decent human being. Not a combination you see often. The mixture of talent and humanity is why, as Joel mentioned, he has the most devoted fan base around.

    JPS, been following you for 18 months or more and love your trips to the UK and your love of our Country is just great SO, to learn you are a Renegade now as well is wonderful ! Even more reason to watch you now!
    You now need to watch Ren and Chinchilla , Chalk Outlines' and 'How to be me' . Also look up Ren's history and you'll see he has suffered over many years , and is STILL suffering with Lymes disease and other related issues.

    When Jenny and Screech were born to Violet they were obviously separated and went to different foster homes, and Jenny’s foster parents never told her that she had a brother, and vice versa.

    Ren himself appreciates reactors so much! Due to his health he might never be able to tour or simply play concerts because he never knows when it's going south again. So we help him out with recommending his art to reactors so more and more people get to know him that will buy his music and merch. Best we can do for our boi

    • @durabelle
      @durabelle 7 months ago

      I think Ren also enjoys reaction videos because he can't perform live as much as he'd want to, so he gets to see people's reaction to his music this way instead. Just guessing, but it would make sense to me since he's usually more about the personal impact of his music on people rather than playing the money game. (Of course he still needs some money too.)

    • @T_Witti
      @T_Witti 7 months ago +1

      @durabelle Sure, can also be part of it. I know he watched Chris Liepes channel to improve his singing. In the interview he said it's weird to watch a channel and that channel reacts to your music praising his singing. Also, do you know that part of his Illest Of Our Time stream where he wanted to check out if someone already reacted to Illest and got emotional because it were so many?

    Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. And no one is ready for this…

      Can't change it, if you refuse to see it. Ren held our eyelids open on this one... and urged empathy for everyones journey.
      With Ren it's all about empathy and compassion. And that's why, even beyond the music ... Ren himself shines like a lighthouse, to so many.
      He dares us to believe in better. And, my goodness, the Renegades didn't disappoint o/ o/ o/

    My favourite Ren-song (after "Hi Ren") is "Su!cide". Its just dripping with raw emotions.
    "Kujo beatdown" is badass, but requires a bit of backstory research to fully enjoy😉
    Also, i recommend, for all Who has not heard/seen it; -his 8(?) chapter story of his fight against sickness. Its just Ren reading what he wrote down on paper, but well worth the time.

    The ending is better than what you thought it was: Violet gave birth to twins “a girl named Jenny and a boy named screech”. Screech killed his sister without knowing it. They were born side by side the same day and died side by side the same day.

    Joel, the composition is in the style of a 'Greek Tragedy' which is an ancient form of story telling, in which all of the main characters dies at the end:
    Violet is the abused Mother who dies at the birth of her twin children - the birth twins are traditionally associated with 'good fortune'; Jenny and Screech are her twin children, who were separated at both and presumably adopted into different families; the first time they met since birth Screech attempted to mug Jennies, and ended up stabbing and killing her; Screech was subsequently shot by armed Police, and died a few street away from where he had killed his sister; Jenny and Screech (twin brother and sister) were both and died on the same day.
    Ren uses the metaphor of twins being associated with 'good fortune', to deepen the tragic emotional impact of story.

    Subbed to watch your journey down the Ren rabbit hole. Prepare to have your mind blown. He can do it all. He plays many instruments & hes bad ass on on of them. All self taught. Hes a beautiful singer also raps, beatboxes, produces & mixes his own music. You name it he does it. Great reaction & if you read the comments many of my renegade friends have explained the trilogy tale of Jenny & screech.

    Renegade new sub here to support and grow your channel. As Ren likes to quote, "a rising tide lifts all ships". The Renegades try to help his "rising tide". You have no idea what Ren's catalog of work really entails. They're not all heavy and deep, try Power next, it will make you feel great, I use that one to get me going in the mornings
    Welcome.

    One more Renegade checking in!! When I stumbled upon your reaction to this, and then subsequently discovered you had previously reached to Rens "Hi Ren" I had a real dilemma!, but I am openly lazy, so it was far easier to just continue to watch this one!! There where so many occasions during your reaction that you obviously wanted to pause,and share your feelings and emotions, but you didn't! That my friend,shows me that at those moments in time you felt that what Ren was saying was far more important than anything you might have been about to say! That shows true respect! Alternatively, like me, you may have been enjoying it so much, that you didn't want it to end 😂😂. Either way,it is obvious that you share my love and respect for Ren.welcome to our Renegade family❤

    Pure musical theatre! Unfortunately you still didn’t get that Violet gave birth to Jenny and Screech. They were twins who were separated after Violet died and sent to different places so never knew each other until that fateful moment on the street.
    A couple more to react to are Chalk Outlines and Murderer.

    Definitely consider myself a Ren-egade. At 61, born and raised in Scotland and now living in the USA, Ran is an incredible once in a century artist who impacts many, many people very deeply. He is so talented, so insightful, and he's had such a tough journey up until now with his medical challenges - yet he remains humble, hopeful, supportive, and incredibly down to earth and honest. I cannot say enough good things about Ren - about his fan base - and I'm happy you have found him. Jump down the Ren Rabbit hole much, much deeper. You will NOT be disappointed in my opinion.

    Screech reminds me of my nephew. My sister adopted him when he was a newborn and addicted to drugs. Whenever he witnessed abuse he panicked. He was a teenager when he found his birth mother. Then he found out that his birth Father beat her regularly. Even trying to make her have a miscarriage. He never witnessed violence in his home but it still affected him greatly.
