- WWE has been providing its license to game developers for 40 years now, with varying degrees of success. Some were exclusive to specific consoles, a handful were dodgy arcade ports, and a few are still played and appreciated today. Here's Every WWE Video Game Ranked From WORST To BEST.

I guess the chapters feature on YT has made this comment pretty useless :(
Why didn’t I find you earlier?
@@That1PissedOffBoomer It's number 45 on the list
@@That1PissedOffBoomer Honestly after all the patches 2K20 is reasonably stable from what I can tell. Still some issues in CAW creator, and some minor things gameplay wise, but ultimately it's nothing you can't work around.
All these RUclipsrs just like to take games that aren't their personal favorites, and make them look as bad as possible by showcasing the launch, pre-patch version instead of talking about the games in the state they ultimately ended up in after all patches was rolled out.
I'm not saying 2K20 is perfect, but it's nowhere near as bad now as it was upon it's release.
Thanks, bro👍
The best WWF game of all time is Wrestlefest, and yet it doesn't even exist in this video..
Svr 07 has not doubt the best soundtrack in a wwe game. Got me into metal
Did you ever play Legends of Wrestling II?
Quentin Kaasa survive by rise against is one of my favorite songs and I’m not a fan of metal
@@quentinkaasa47 I hope he didn't, that game is kind of bad
Quentin Kaasa no, but loved the first until I was old enough to realize it was hot garbage
I have Bullet With a Name and Survive in my workout playlist.
Amazing how Undertaker had been wrestling so long that he appeared in 32 bit games
He appeared long before 32bit! lol
@@Adam_Outdoors He was good at beating people into 32 different bits though. lol
I assume you mean 16 bit, because the PS1 games like the early Smackdown games were 32 bit.
@@ninja_tony dude was even in 8bit
@@Kenshiro3rd Yeah he's in some of the NES and Game Boy WWF games
I feel I'm one of the only people who enjoy seeing a roster of midcarders and jobbers, because the legends are in every game, but the jobbers only get one or two times to shine and date the game
Thats why i loved wwe 13, a lot of beloved Attitude era mid card guy in there that we didnt have in the next 2k entry!
You're not alone...watching this video and seeing The Headbangers, Val Venis, Droz...its those rare characters that make certain games stand out to me. Like you said, nearly all games have the same legends and top names.
Yea I liked seeing jobbers and mid/lower card characters well I shouldn’t say mid carders but lower carders yea
I liked using the jobbers cause it made the main stars seem bigger. What a concept
That's why I love games like Fire Pro. You can recreate an entire roster down to Gillburg and Mordecai if you want to. And, then it truly feels like that era again.
Svr 11 is absolutely underrated
For real tho I sold it a couple years ago and I want to get it again
For me it’s right up there with the very best, I LOVED the story mode and how weird and wacky it was.
@@colbygarrow Don't you have a pc? Download an emulator of ps2 or ps3 and play it there.
@@dark_sider0 no I don’t have a pc
Best svr game IMO
OH YEAH, HERE WE GO, SPORTS TIME!!!
*SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT TIME
Glad someone did it
@matt shut up matt
@Cyberpunks Witcher you said Karen in your message!!! I did too!!!! 😱
"I've played a wrestling game before."
I think “Here comes the pain” is my pick for the best WWE game of all time
Same, so much replay value
2006 for me
That and 06
That and SVR 07
@@Braylon1997 That's the game that took me out of the series. I hated that they switched the controls up.
SVR 2006 will always be my personal favourite.
I spent alot of my childhood playing that game.
By far, my personal favorite and easily the best game mode ever put in a WWE game with the GM Mode.
im more peeved you would crap on the man, the legend Jimmy Wang Yang. He might have been a lower midcard in reality, but he's the champion of my heart.
Jimmy got robbed man! He should have been Cruiserweight Champion!
@matt What the Hell man!?
Jimmy Yang was a criminally underrated wrestler. Great in the ring, and he gave it his all in every gimmick that was handed to him.
my personal fav in 09
Man always gave it his all.
All-Stars is criminally underrated. It was so satisfying to land big moves
It felt like the spiritual successor to the Legends trilogy combined with the classic arcade games. It was the video game equivalent of smashing my Hasbro wrestling figures together as a kid.
I appreciate the fact you mentioned the name of the game again mid review of each game, saved me from rewinding a whole bunch when I wasn't paying great attention the first time you said it.
Hahahaha it's funny you say that as I was thinking the same thing lol
WWF No Mercy was the first wrestling game I played when I was a kid and even at 23, I still have memories of trying to get enough money to buy Shawn Michaels, trying to beat the APA, throwing wrestlers around the backstage areas, etc. It’s made me want to pick up an N64, a copy of No Mercy and play it.
Triple jump: "the masked man from SVR 09 was lame."
Retribution pathetically pushes over a trashcan in disgust!
And never shut up about doing so.
Came here to make this comparison, I'll leave now...
BAH GAWD THAT TRASH CAN HAD A FAMILY
(and more charisma than Ricochet)
I remember svr 09 so well that was my first wrestling game so it’ll always hold a special place in my heart (19now so didn’t get to really experience ps2 and back)
Svr 07 is probably the best game in the series but the multiplayer on svr 2011 was fantastic, being able to make absolutely monstrosities with your friends and being able to see the entrances before a 35 minute money in the bank match will never be topped
I liked 07 until my friend pointed out how easy it was to beat the AI. I still get fun out of 06 with GM mode
The amount of hours I put into Smackdown 2 on the PS1....such great times. Fantastic game.
80% of that was loading screens but it was still fun 😂
I would love if a game comes out and has a mode where you use everyone on the roster, 1 single time, in one of their historic matches. If you win the match and complete the historic objectives, you unlock a custom attire or something simple. Then after you do it for everyone, you get a larger prize for completion. It would allow you to experience every superstar and probably every match type at least once. These game rosters are gigantic and I only use a handful of characters. It'd be a simple & fun mode to kill some time.
That is such a good idea. If only we could be spoiled once again :(
next should be "every RTWM Story Ranked from Worst to Best"
yes
No. They suck
RTWM?
I played All Stars recently and it's still really fun, going completely full-on with the over-the-top ridiculousness of it all made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you're a fan of the later, simulator-style games then avoid it, because it's arcadey as hell, but I've always preferred that style of WWE game so I loved it.
omg micro wrestling, that was a huge trip in the wayback machine thank you!
My personal favorite is SVR 06, I loved storymode, GM was amazing, it had a good roster, and honestly it was my first wrestling game.......ever so I have tons of nostaglia for it. The fact it's ranked number 4 proves that it's not just nostalgia that the games good though.
Crush Hour was fantastic. I will not hear otherwise.
I’m still waiting for crush hour 2.
extra innereye unless I start working for 2K.
The twisty rockets!
My mom still has her British Bulldog and Bret 'The Hitman' Hart posters hanging in her homeoffice. Her first date with my dad was them going to a match, when they were ~26
Thank you for filling up my Wholesome Meter for the week 😀
Was their first date Summerslam 92 at Wembly?
@@undertakerpitt Can't be. It was in Hannover as far as I know
That must have been a very romantic date.
I wish your parents were my parents.
Smackdown Here Comes The Pain and Smackdown Shut Your Mouth are fantastic!
Shut Your Mouth was better.
@@Rschr101 im about to download an emulator and see if youre right
Both brilliant games alright.
Yeah Shut Your Mouth is my all time favourite.
Not gonna lie, Wrestlemania XIX on the GameCube is probably in my top five favourite wrestling games.
It was soooo much fun throwing dudes off the tallest places in Revenge Mode.
That and Day of Reckoning 2 need more recognition
Same. For me, it's the one I get the most enjoyment out of. I spent a lot of time playing/watching royal rumbles and unwinnable Fatal 4-Ways. I miss when you could turn off all ways of winning and just have a match that doesn't end until you decide it ends. Also, I miss the hilariously dumb AI taunting all the time (even after they've activated their special.)
So many memories with that game
I hate that game as one of the worst. Crazy the thought of it being in someone's top 5
This is EXACTLY what I needed tonight. Thank you.
I’m hoping for every Mortal Kombat kharacter rabked at some point, mostly I just want to see if MoKap would rank above or below Bo Rai Cho. Aside from that, I always admire your dedication to lists like these. Keep up the awesome work, lads!
MoKap is the G.O.A.T!!
So... Scorpion and Sub Zero are 1 and 2 or 2 and 1... ok
Holy shit i was a beta tester for 'with authority' im surprised anyone in the world remembers it
@matt It was sort of multiple things. This was still quite early days of online gaming, so there wasn't a large audience at the time.
The other issue was as beta testers we got access to everything, that makes sense of course as that was our job BUT that carried on to when it was released. Meaning that new players would have to buy a tonne of card packs to remotely compete.
It was an overally simple card game as well unfortunatley. It seems that only had a vague idea of how card games worked.
@matt fahringer in a lot of ways yeah. It was just poorly managed. It would a great mobile game and better than super card in my opinion with some decent management. It was more along the lines of hearthstone but also different. Its quite hard to explain unless there's any footage of it anywhere. It didn't last long at all and I don't remember the list of wrestlers being too big either. I mostly remember shane McMahon being overpowered as fuck.
@matt fahringer there was a fair bit broken about it. It wouldn't have been hard to fix though. In the current gaming world it would be fixed and patched etc.
I think it could be brought back and made into something quite good and successful. It would still be microtransactiony. But something like hearthstone works in that middle ground where people can pay there way through but those who don't aren't at a complete disadvantage.
My eyes watered with happiness as I saw you rank WWE 2K14 at #6. Thank you! I feel validated my favorite game is in the top 6 on this giant list.
Also, this video has finally convinced me to get WWE 2K19 and ALL STARS.
The smackdown vs raw games created my entire taste in music
I love these videos, thanks for doing them, they’re well researched and super interesting.
One recommendation, if I can (sorry): maybe change up the background music through the video. It gets repetitive quickly and takes away from the enjoyment, in my opinion.
But seriously great job guys
Had me till the very end. THQ did awesome work!
Love these long lists! I think it would be fun if you took turns reading out entries, even just for the top 10. Keep up the good work :)
You really put svr 2008 over svr 2011 that's crazy
SVR 08 has GM Mode, that’s a game changer, and 08’s soundtrack is LEGENDARY
@@sosamanotf642 but svr11 is a better game
@@sohaib9566 opinions.
@@ninja_tony I forgot to write in my opinion sorry
@@sosamanotf642 so did 07 and 06 with no changes
SVR 06 is my favorite, love 05 WWE and that game screams it lol
Man you took me back with that rage in the cage..I use to od on that lol..great vid broski
Thank you my dudes!! Amazing video!!!
"There were no good tag teams in SVR 09 and had to rely on DX and The Hardys"
Me, who mostly played as London & Kendrick: 👀
I skipped 09 when they said they focused on tag teamed.. during the year..... There was none
'09 was the last wrestling game I played until literally a month ago. I think it was underrated. Practically everyone in my grade-level at school was playing it. lol. The only people I knew that didn't play it back then were the other girls at school.:P
@@MrHawkelement 09 is probably still the worst SVR game.
I love how every wrestling and wrestling-adjacent YT channel, regardless of past or present affiliation to WC, will reliably find ways to make fun of Simon Miller.
@@RyanConnell5150 I don't think those things have to be mutually exclusive.
@matt If you're British, it is in fact completely mandatory to regularly make fun of or insult the people you love the most. That is just the way of things.
SvR 06 always gonna be my fav, absolutely loved that game
A lot of work in a single video, awesome!
SVR 2007 is by far the best SVR. The best soundtrack, best GM mode, and a really good creation sweep and balanced roster. The season mode was super fun with extra challenges to do after to unlock new things, and the gameplay and graphics are solid too. Definitely the best overall SVR game.
I still have 07, 09 and ‘16 installed.
Svr 2006 was better in everything
Better gameplay better roster better story better better gmcmofe better gameplay ...
Not as good or as polished as '06.
Not better than 06, 10 or 11 tbh.
SvR ‘06 had a much better GM Mode and you’re the only person I’ve seen say otherwise.
I can't say I'm the biggest wrestling nut, but I played hours and hours of SvR 2010 on ps2 when I was 16ish with my best friend in high school. Very fond memories, and this hit me right in the nostalgia. Glad to see it rank as high as it did, and now I'm curious to try the titles that topped it. Very entertaining video, as always
great list guys, great watch and a ton of nostalgia
Your channel deserves more subscribers bro , plus great background and intro music
HCTP is my favorite of the WWE games.
Can we all appreciate how obvious it was that Matt Hardy did the mocap for WWF Attitude? 45:11
What part makes it obvious to you?
How so? I wouldn't have been able to tell that
Incredible effort again, lads!
Well done!
I personally loved wrestlemania 21 I would play that so much as a kid along with the SvR series
Fun fact: Def Jam Vendetta is the sequel to WWF No Mercy
Shame we never got Backlash.
For me
1- Here Comes The Pain
2- Shut Your Mouth
3 - Know Your Role
While No mercy is arguably one of the best too, i never quite understood the controls of it and never had the same amount of enjoynent as playing those three on my top list.
That because you might be used to the playstation controller controls
WrestleMania 2000 being in the top 3 makes me happy
me too
2009 was an improvement of 2008 from my point of view. The former felt more fluid and flexible. My only complaint is that you had to jump through hoops to unlock the WWE Hardcore Championship.
This was a fantastic list! The amount of research you put in was phenomenal. Thanks all!
I played Smackdown vs raw 2008 sooooooo much when it came out, and even though it was quite naff, It genuinely helped me make friends with it's multiplayer. Fond memories. Did not expect it to rank this high, but it makes me happy.
Smack down vs raw 2006 and 2010 and wwe2k14 was my childhood bro! Absolutely love those games
I may have spent more time playing Wrestlemania 2000 than I have any other video game.
A fellow man of culture
Na no mercy was it for me! Countless hours staying up till 3am 🤣💀🤣
I maybe the only one but to see Smackdown vs Raw 07 snubbed from the top 10 is mind boggling. Story mode, Soundtrack, gm mode were all great that weren’t mentioned in this review.
The roster was stacked too.
cahart 98 had that in my initial post, but since they said it in the video, I’d remove it
Love this video 💯
Incredible effort lads. This longform content sets you apart, particularly as its fun, lighthearted yet informative all at once. Great stuff
Cultaholic have been doing videos like this for years.
@@quentinkaasa47 they’re the same group, but one is about wrestling and another is about gaming.
Man without doubt smackdown vs raw 2010 is my favorite with that story mode of being your own wrestling and emerging from the stands to give santino morella the beat of his life and take the new intercontinental champion
Glad to see some love for Day of Reckoning 2, my personal favorite. Two player mode is fine, but 3 and 4 player matches in it are some of the best times I've had gaming, as all moves could be cancelled by an interloper hitting you. Very fun and hectic. Cage matches could take an hour 🤣
DOR 2 is up there with No Mercy. Definitely one of the best. And I never beat that fatal fourway cage match from season mode. Impossible!
@@Rschr101 I beat it by using Stone Colds finishing since it takes like 2-3 seconds. The first time I tried playing it, I had HBKs Sweet Chin Music which is arguably the longest finisher in the game
The gc wrestling games were great.
You guys are so underrated. I love you
What a great video! I love WWE games.
Peter as Stone Cold is the thing of nightmares. Really tiny nightmares, but nightmares none the less.
SvR06 was me and my buddies favorite game as kids, we played constantly until SvR10 was out.
I’m still playin gm mode wit my guys to this day
1:23 oh my god the Newgrounds RAW choose your own adventure! What a flashback.
Great video, even better list. Smackdown HCTP is my all time favorite. Every list I've seen has had it an WWF No Mercy as the top 2 and honestly I can't hp but feel like it's a tie for First!
Crush Hour is the hero we need right now.
I’m personally happy that I have my PS2 again. Went and bought one back in March or April and I have SVR 2007 and HCTP. I also am a fan of WWE 2K19 and I WISHED 2K20 was better.
I hope 2K22 turns out much better.
I'm so glad I found your channel ben

I grew up with the PC version of WWF: Wrestlemania the Arcade game, and it was fun as heck back then, and still is now 😄
I had watched wrestling on and off again as a very young kid but as you referenced I the video the "attitude" era games are what made me become a wrestling fan.
The TNA game IS pretty fun, isn’t it
I only got bored of all the death valley drivers.
It needed improvements but was great. Border Toss out of the ring anyone?
Apart from signature and finisher it made zero difference which wrestler you were.
I still play it every now and then not perfect but fun
It was a decent game
Wasn't WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 on the psp too? Also you didn't mention the gambling section
Yeah I caught that too, I actually have 2006 on PSP so I went huh lol
The gambling is only on PSP
Yeah but it felt like a bootleg you find at a flee market
Here Comes the Pain was my first WWE game, and I bought SvR '06 because my cousin had the one from the year before. I didn't care to get many others. Just because both games were simply so amazing, and still are today.
Can't wait to see what Yuke's & AEW are cooking up for real. The cinematic trailer was...a nice teaser, we'll see what they can come up with (psst. customizable Stadium Stampede match level editor & complete backstage brawl for all of Daily's Place, please? Thanks...)
Wrestlemania 19 story mode was great had alot of fun with it
Hello Ben and Peter, can you do every Tony Hawk video game from worst to best please? Thank you.
Otherwise, they will have to face: "THE WHEEL OF LOOGIES!"
I love the idea of tiny Peter saying all these wrestling references and having no idea what he’s saying. A sweet small Boi.
Crush hour and wm19 still hold up today. Super fun to revisit
"whatever the hell Big Head mode was" me too
If this is a serious question I have a serious answer for them having big head mode in the game. When someone has a big ego the saying is "Don't get a big head" in which is why they had it in the game.
Oops I thought you were referring to wwf attitude on ps1 when they had it as a cheat hehe oh well same concept I'm sure
It's good to see WWE All Stars got ranked as high as it did. That game was really fun and I wish they would have continued the series.
Favorite games of all time were wwe 13 and wwe 2k14 on my Xbox 360. I remember playing those games for hours. Man, I miss those days :(
Haven’t watched the video yet, but over an hour worth of content? This took AGES to make automatically hit the like button 💜
2K18 was a amazing game with the most well balanced simulation gameplay so far. The pacing and speed of everything was dead on perfect. Showcase was just a one and done mode anyway. Sadly nothing new was really added to Universe, but the mode worked well. Honestly the only game I'd probably put higher then 2K18 was 2K19.
So 2k18 and 2k19 were the best ones of the 2k era? Ive been hearing that all the 2k games were the worst ones that lost the main focus which is sad because im trying to get back into the SVR games but theyre not backwards compatible
SmackDown vs Raw 2009 was my first wrestling game and to me it’s the best
Day of reckoning 2 was one of those gems i could be proud of to my friends owning a gamecube instead of a ps2
Dang man. I want to play through a couple of those now
Here Comes the Pain for me...
How about a "every 1st person horror game" ranking list?
Nah man. At this point HCTP is way too limited and shallow. 2k19 has more modes and more depth in gameplay due to the abilities and limited counter system
Here Comes The Pain and SVR 06
'Just bring it' was my entry into the world of wrestling video games.
Back in 1993 I would sometimes record my video games on the VCR. I had a match of WWF Royal Rumble that went on for the entire length of the VHS tape on slow speed, so, 6 hours. I was at an impasse with my opponents. They could not defeat me and I could not defeat them. Eventually I just had to shut it off. Nearly 30 years since I last played that game and I can still remember the sound of the grunts and punches in my head.
Wwe 2k19 is underrated
