Hi, came from Threadbanger. All I could think when Rob was using that saw is “oh gosh, do they have on-site EMT’s??”.

Their bedroom looks beautiful! And you all put a lot of hard work into it, but what about inside the closet? How were those spaces filled in (where the old closet framing was). What kind of shelving was put inside for clothes organization. The outside looks good, but what's inside?

Yeah, I love how they glossed over the fact that the "stained glass" was all bubbled.
They had to unfortunately remove everything,because of termites.
Ever curious: Michelle I guess coloured acrylic would be more like the modern version of stained glass, especially for closet doors.

I thought the same thing when I saw the legs for the bench. I know it's for decoration but if it's actually used it'll also leave divots in the floor. My home is from the late 1800s and I love my flooring it hurts it see that bench, although it does look cool.

H Yeah it shouldn't a problem on high quality hardwood floor. Unfortunately many manufacturers make wood flooring from trees that are "young" and that grow quickly. The older a tree, the harder and more durable the wood (with many species of trees). Also, the slower the growth rate, the denser the wood. Too bad vendors usually don't sell old-growth wood!!!

That "stained glass" just looks so tacky, it ruins what was otherwise a very nice closet facade. It doesn't look ANYTHING like stained glass, just a bright mess of colours that are full of bumps from weird adherence and don't fit in with the decor of the rest of the room at all!
Couldn't have said it better. I especially got a laugh out of seeing them try so hard to shoot 'around' the bubbly, tacky look, still trying to make it look nice by messing around with angles and lights.
(I also can't help but suspect they only did the 'stained glass' to cover the windows so you can't tell they didn't actually make the inside of the closet)

Corinne said that the room had to be destroyed shortly after this show aired due to the damage that the house had, and that they ended up redoing the room.

I'm a joinery student in NZ and I really think the bench could've been constructed better. because of the lack of bracing, over time the middle will sag-- I've seen this happen with a table I've grown up around. a good fix would be to put a vertically oriented brace along the bottom. I very much like the finish tho, and may even try it out for my current oak project.

I used to work at Masters in Australia which was basically Lowes and we stocked A LOT of the same things that I've seen here and also the same shop set up and uniforms for staff.
