Oddly Librarian Black Templar are playable in Deathwatch. While likely an oversight/error, this could mean that they send off all their Librarians to the Deathwatch, in some backwards way to follow the Edict of Nikea.
So a chapter that specializes in melee and is much larger than the other chapters. Either their genetic stocks are severely deficient after all these years or our grimbois are eating the Khorne flakes.
1:34 - They spit on Big Papa Ultrasmurf's book! | 3:10 - Well, Abominable Intelligence is worse than that, as far as they're concerned. | 4:40 - Those two are necessary, it's within the chapter that they're not fine with. | 5:32 - More like the trial of Spiky Tits. | 6:19 - Well, besides Blanks, but the only known Blank Space Marine was the chapter master known as Alexandros the Blind and then it involves drinking poisoned blood, which resulted in that change occurring. | 7:10 - I'm thinking that they're either Blood Angels, White Scars or Loyalist World Eaters, based on their aggression. | 8:10 - Emperor bless the cedar tree that's embedded up his rear!
I like the idea of the Cacodominus' death-scream effectively cutting off the chapter's access to psychic powers. *The sons of Dorn are ever ready to pay any price for victory!*

If they lost all their Librarians in the Howling could it simply thye no longer have anyone to train new ones and are to proud and stubborn to ask for help doing so?
@JogPLC : Yeah, Emps could probably make something vaguely similar to an Astartes that required blank aspirants, but it doubtlessly wouldn't be identical, and the rarity of blanks would make replenishment severely difficult.
It's possible but so damn unlikely that you'd have a better chance of sticking your penis in both Slaanesh and Nurgle and somehow not catching any diseases.
There's also the fact that Rogal Dorn is the primarch equivalent of a blank/pariah, since his willpower was so strong that the Warp pretty much disappeared around him (Or something like that, point is the Warp didn't work as it should be)
You know, maybe instead of just killing failed neophytes like the Blood Angels, or abandoning them, or turning them into robot slaves, why not just turn them into Guardsmen? These failed Neophyte Guardsmen squads could accompany Astarte regiments as supporting fire.
In some chapters, these aspirants who survived yet somehow failed in their trials may become chapter serfs. And their many duties include defending chapter's fortress monastery and warships, and they therefore receive training comparable to elite guardsmen. So yes, it happens already ;)
@@mrgoatman1024 Yeah but it's an exception in most cases. The Death Guard pre-Heresy only had one such serf and he was decked out with maybe a stub pistol at best, and the whole legion treated him like shit. I mean like whole companies of failed neophytes who actually have weapons and armor and maybe cybernetics.
@@PsychopathUltimate I recall that this was described as a practice more popular amongst Terran marines but discarded later by those raised from Barbarus, the guy you speak of was just the last one of a breed deemed obsolete by them. Garro was Terran after all, so he held to this old custom, but then Garro himself was treated ill by Barbaran marines and therefore he was even more sentimental about his serf, knowing his pain all too well. And yes, I totally agree that most chapters don't do it (I wrote there are some chapters, not how many), but I recall that in Ragnar Blackmane's series it was described as quite common practice for Space Wolves. I mean, as common as can it be to fail in extremely deadly trials and survive and not be deemed unworthy, or something.
@@mrgoatman1024 Don't failed Spacewolves mostly consist of people who succumbed to the Wulfen curse? A failed Space Wolf neophyte that didn't succumb to the Wulfen would be like finding a unicorn.
@@PsychopathUltimate If they fail before Canis Helix implementation... oh, I see now, you mean guys after implantations. That Garro's serf failed before any implantations, that part must have misled me. Well, in that case, there is a problem. Geneseed is too precious a resource for Marines (and oh so holy and their ancestry and whatever) so they will stop at nothing to retrieve it from any neophyte that they deem as failure. Removing the geneseed (or not implanting it at all) will lead to death of said neophyte, as other implants will not work as intended without geneseed regulating and stabilising their functions, and probably will stop working completely at some point.

Didn't Dorn accept his libarian sons' assistance in the 1st Solar War book? I don't think that they think the Edict is still valid. That wouldn't jive with loyalty to Dorn.
But you forget the glorious *God-Emporer* himself gave that edict and never revoked it. Unless you are somehow implying *God* himself could be wrong which of course is nothing less than complete and total heresy. And we all know what Black Templars do to heretics don't we don't we?

Considering the Edict of Nikea ONLY concerns librarians, and the Black Templars not only employ navigators and astropaths, but also Gray Knight psykers (so Astartes using psychic power, but which are technically not librarians, and their use of psychic force was ordained by the Emperor), it stands to reason they are following the Edict to the letter. As one would expect of them.
You’d think they’d allow biomancy at least. Those psykers are healers and damar dealers as well a buffers for their squads. So it would give many apothecaries stress off their shoulders and would earn a bit of favor with their brothers in terms of keeping them alive. You’d also think that a melee heavy chapter would welcome psychic powers that enhance their martial prowess. They allow astropaths and navigators so why not at least ONE aspect of the librarian schools?

Oddly Librarian Black Templar are playable in Deathwatch. While likely an oversight/error, this could mean that they send off all their Librarians to the Deathwatch, in some backwards way to follow the Edict of Nikea.
So a chapter that specializes in melee and is much larger than the other chapters. Either their genetic stocks are severely deficient after all these years or our grimbois are eating the Khorne flakes.
It's funny to me how servitor computers with electronic precision keep worse records than funny angry black man casting expecto petronum

A very extremely awesome video as always 40k Theories again.
There’s a typo in your title. It should be ‘The PsyCHOS Of The Black Templars’.
*Psychosis
They are absolute lunatics.
PURGING WITH MY KIN!
Truly the best kind of lunatics.
the cackadominus story sounds absolutely fascinating. i havent heard or seen it mentioned anywhere else
The way you say ‘astartes’ is literally hilarious.
Great video though keep up the good work
I like the idea of the Cacodominus' death-scream effectively cutting off the chapter's access to psychic powers.
*The sons of Dorn are ever ready to pay any price for victory!*
Do you specifically have a video on the cacadominus
Oh yeah i'd love to see that.
@@djtdawg87 from what i can find theres only like 5 lines of text amongst the wikis, would love to see if there was more
3:36 librarians can breathe fire now that's awesome
Thanks for making a video of the Black Templars!! We need all the support ! Hoping Warhammer 40,000 will give the Black Templars some more attention..

If they lost all their Librarians in the Howling could it simply thye no longer have anyone to train new ones and are to proud and stubborn to ask for help doing so?

Cacodominus = The Spider Mastermind from Doom
Odd question but this video made me wonder, can Space Marines be blanks?
No
I think that it has been mentioned in the horus heresy book series like with female astartes its not possible at all.
@@jamesgarratt9334 but blanks don't have to be female
@JogPLC : Yeah, Emps could probably make something vaguely similar to an Astartes that required blank aspirants, but it doubtlessly wouldn't be identical, and the rarity of blanks would make replenishment severely difficult.
It's possible but so damn unlikely that you'd have a better chance of sticking your penis in both Slaanesh and Nurgle and somehow not catching any diseases.
I like to imagine that one of the lost primarchs was a blank, but that's just me
It would be cool if BT Psykers just channel their power into augmenting their physical abilities instead of manifesting typical warp attacks.
If they were killed the chapter might simply be too proud to ask for outside help to train replacements
What’s the soundtrack used in the video?
Dawn of War. Can't tell which game, though. If I had to guess, DoW 2.
Funny that me and my friend were talking about the Black Templars earlier.
@Something Mildly Homophobic says u lmao
*"Angry, Warp-hatin, Sword Bois"*
I look forward to these videos every Monday. Are there any good Sisters of Silence theories out there?
@40K Theories what is your outro music?

*MY HEAD IS HERESY!!*
Greetings inquisitor, tech priest remleis I have a theory concerning gullimans decree of splitting the loyalist Legiones into chapters.
And the theory is that the decree was merely a temporary one to be repealed after the great scouring?
Secretly, Black Templar chaplains are also psychers, which is why they are able to inspire more than other chaplains... and how Grimaldus was able to survive(he threw up a psychic bubble-unconsciously)
This makes me think of the Soul Drinkers, who were probably founded from the Black Templars. If you could do an origin video on them, I’d be very impressed.
@@zenoblues7787, Dorn acted as a spokesman for the Big E, if he was fine with it, it is the equivalent.
@@kingbaldwiniv5409 Silly you trying to use logic and reason to disprove dogma. Though what you say is entirely true crazy zealots rarely use their brains for anything besides determining the best place to stab the heretics to kill them faster.

I live for these theory vids.

Remliez i have read on the lexicanum that the captian of the salamanders 5th company also believes the imperium should be following the edict of Nikea
Purging with my kin!
Question: Why don't Black Templars have Psykers?
Answer: Because heavy flamers.
And witches burn so well!
chapter servitor is an honorable task lord commandant.
Dorn' angry boys do not need psykers, they just need to be listening to any linkin loyalist tracks to cast any psychic powers. And was the cacodominus a far more powerful cacodemon from doom?
You had me at Psyker
Who would win Skarbrand (at most powerful) or Angron?
Angron... Daemon Primarch , but would be a good fight!
I think they dont want to risk daemons showing up when a psyker of theirs takes a poop
Guess the Emperor got them those psykers
I like the idea of them following the edict of Nikea
Prada black Templars well the alarm end up the same mistake so I got her space ring Saturday at Librarians but yeah you should need some more psykers I say they're more badass in malate and offerings range
YES!!! A mention of my Excoriators!!!!

The Emperor: “I am not a god. Do not worship Me as one.”
Black Templars: “We must worship The Emperor as a god!”
You should do one on the Bookakarokadopolus. Or whatever you called it. Lol
cacodominus: I'm about to do what's called a pro-gamer move
I figure we'll get an answer, or at least more information, soon enough. Far too many templar crosses in the psychic awakening trailers for the BT to not be involved somehow.
My totally unsupported joke theory is that they are actually Word Bearers and can't be trusted to have Psyckers.
The *real* reason why they don't use Librarains, is not to kick any more dirt on their father-chapter. When they look at their own current win rate in Nephilim vs that of the Imperial Fists, they'd rather give up their psychic phase up entirely take it more easy in the shooting phase anywhere above 24"...
