- Today we start working on our LEGO Zoo! Josée and I needed some inspiration and we knew just where to get it... the local zoo! Our newest LEGO City MOC is going to be huge! The zoo will sit on 8 48x48 gray baseplates and will host lots of different animal attractions such as elephants, gators, lions, an aquarium, monkeys, and much more. By going to the zoo, Josée and I gained lots of inspiration and now have a clear vision of what we have to do when building our LEGO version. Stay tuned for our second update in this series and we hope you enjoy the tour of our local Edmonton Valley Zoo!

This is just an excuse to go to the zoo
And I love it
Bunch of tips for your upcoming zoo
1 if you make a small leopard habitat would recommend you to have that disguised tree photographer from safari van set trying to take his picture
2 if you make a chicken coop make sure to have that chicken man minifigure trying to flock with them
3 if you make a aquarium please make a reference from finding nemo
For one moment I thought he was going to say the Zoo at West Edmonton Mall as it has everything :)
Never been so excited to tap on a bricksie video! Looking forward to the progress!
You have to have one exhibit with only minifigs behind the glass. They are the ones all dressed as various animals. Then have the Monkeys watching them. lol
Get inspired by looking at other Lego zoos? Nahhhhh - we're going to the real thing! Awesome idea and looks like you came up with lots of takeaways for this exciting project. Can't wait to see it take shape!
I making a zoo to and my inspiration for the enclosure bars was the chimps paddock from rise of the planet of the apes I even used a spear and I have it there in case I make a planet of the apes video in lego
Some of those buildings are super nice.... very quiet day at the zoo in ol Edmonton!
My suggestion would be to make a mini Jurassic Park section to the park, with a mini gate.
Literally my idea 2
With Lego zoo’s, I think less is more in terms of animal exhibits. It is easy to try and squash too many things in and I believe it really detracts from the overall design and layout. Aquariums are hard to do as well because a few dolphins need a lot of space for it to look somewhat realistic, just my opinion though and of course it’s Lego so anything does go in the end!!
You could always take a page from zoo fundraising and subscribers could “adopt” an animal to help pay for those camels! Love the video!
A zoo + aquarium combo would be hella cool
Hella
Have a shark walk through tank
Epic idea 👌!
Elephants and lions are coming this summer. That would look great in any zoo
Oh Storyland Valley Zoo. I remember Humpty Dumpty. Nice to see the changes they made to the zoo. You have to name one of your elephants Lucy.
Just for a laugh you should add an exhibit with a Velociraptor or some other Dino in it.
Should buy a couple of creator 3-1 safari treehouse sets to get some flamingos and giraffes for the zoo!
If you need some more inspirations. It be neat if you travel down to Calgary Zoo. I am pretty sure you can get some other inspired ideas from that location. And the species they have down there as well
For the cage you could use the net piece
It's been years since I've been to our zoo, so thank you for the tour! Great idea to go there for ideas and details you may not think of to add. Excited to follow your journey! 👍♥️🇨🇦
You should drop down the table and then the water and stuff the lowest and just build up with walls and make the walls look rock textured
Great video, can't wait to see the Lego zoo, keep up the good work. Hope everyone is having a nice day.
Hey🙂 great video...just a small idea what crossed my mind while I was watching...It would be interesting put zoo and your fun park together plus near is a beach..I know you have your plans and already sorted few things....but great thing about Lego is that it's adaptable... in real life it would be great to have a zoo, fun park and beach together...have a nice day 😉
The cool thing about this guy is that they have…really really long……Trunks….and that’s pretty much all there is to say
~~~ Me at the zoo
Elephants and giraffes were always the highlight of our zoo visits when I was a kid!
This is amazing Zoo tour @Bricksie i like Red bears pleace, looking great good job and have great day. 🙂👍
It’s over guys! Jordan has the high ground!!4:13
@Bricksie a couple ideas for the zoo. I went to a zoo once and the monkey were on an island, surrounded by water,, i guess this variety didn't care for swimming, but they had lots of cool trees and wood beams all tied together and platforms and ropes, it was cool. Also, some zoos have large wild zone and you can go on mini safer rides. You could include that lego safari car for that!
The Calgary and Edmonton zoos are really great zoos, I always enjoy visiting them. They do exceptional conservation work as well and the care they have for the animals is top notch.
Take some green baseplates and make a area that looks like a forest where you can put animals like elephants, rabbits, deer's and has a pond for hippos. Put a fence in front of it so that people can them.
Minecraft set 21158 has pandas in it. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
You would make my highschool literature teachers happy with this very credible research. Just make sure you remember to cite your sources!
I feel bad for the artic wolf. What has lived quarantine for more than us: animals
Hey just a idea for the deep sea to really elevate your city , you should get glass panels or plastic panels to make it like a fish bowl/aquarium and fill it up wit real water ! It would make it badass and more authentic!
You should build a safari like at Disney animal kingdom... less cages.
Bricksie to get some more inspiration you should look at some "PlanetZoo" creation. There is a lot of great zoo builds people have made in that game!
Suggestion for the zoo. Make half of it a zoo snd the other halSuggestionf a Jurassic park with dinosaurs. That would be awesome.
A reptile house is a must for a zoo!!
You should make it jungle theme one one part and the other be a huge tank with all the animals that have to do with water
What if you added something absolutely bonkers to the zoo? Like a dragon exhibit or something spectacular like that
Bantha enclosure!!! XD
It would be funny to hide some Raptors in the bushes. As a family we have been to a few zoos where they have had dinos hiden here and there. It would also look funny to just have a Dino paddock
I’m so excited and can’t wait to see the zoo
Great video, though surprised you didn't post it on Beyond Bricksie because it is a bit less LEGO focused
You could technically make a cage with a lot of short ladder pieces
I predict a TON of pricy Bricksie Bricklink orders for animals!! (LOL) Big buck$ for goats, pigs, oxe’s etc.!!
You should do a small aquarium in the zoo and or a reptile house
Cool😀 gonna follow this project with pleasure, happy building😉👍👍
Can't wait for the zoo!!!!
Most modern zoos have no cages and open natural looking enclosures. You should google Wildlands in the Netherlands for further ideas. Have fun building the zoo.
Lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!
Bricksie, you gotta search up “Elephant Springs” at the Fort Worth Zoo in TX. It’s consistently rated one of the best zoos in America, and has a brand new, state-of-the-art elephant enclosure with water and those glass walls you mentioned. Might be worth checking out.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red panda. Pretty cool! Can’t wait to see your zoo.
There is a zoo on Flickr that you should really look at for inspiration. Search for "anne mette v lego animal park" and it will pop right up. Yes, it is a Friends design, but minifigs would be happy there too!
You need a Joe Exotic the Tiger King section!
Very cool, I hadn't realized our Zoo was open to the public again. Definitely checking it out this summer.
in the fort Wayne zoo that is the gator pen 3:00
1:48 the poopin legend
Love going to the zoo in April or October in St Louis. Kids are in school and you can enjoy it.
Just an idea, in front of the zoo, by the gas station, there's some empty plates. I feel like one of them would be a great spot for a nice little diner.
I love Canada
I can’t wait to you begin to build….It’s gonna be amazing
Llama
And Lion's and poler bases and snakes.
Some of last years Friends sets are also good to check out, since they have a lot of animal rescue sets. With natural habitat.
I would never think about a ZOO but you have good plans in your mind keep it up
Wow mr Jordan i really want to go to the zoo I animals but there is a lockdown wish I could go to my local zoo you are soo lucky anyways by mr Jordan hope you find your inspiration
Could not go inside for safety I guess meanwhile
The rest of Canada is in lockdown and is not supposed to leave the house
I think there is a zoo in Toronto
Red pandas soooo cute 😍
Love the Zoo idea Bricksie! Just a thought, you should consider an walkway/ overpass to go over the road for pedestrians to cross from the beach area to the zoo. Reference images from the Toledo Zoo in Ohio. This one even has an animal mural on the side, its pretty cool!
Thank you for sharing your Zoo. I love going to our zoo too.
Grazing animals can safety graze together. Zebra, giraffes and antelope and other plains animals...however elephants cant.
Awesome zoo....
Just north of sydney australia has a reptile park. Awesome place, even with snakes and spiders and crocs. How about snakes and spiders in your zoo?
Also every zoo needs a bear.
I'm like Ron Weasley... I don't like spiders!!
Giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, bears (oh my), bird aviary, alligators, pandas, underwater area, snakes, turtles! The classics and the most colorful!
I’m looking forward to see this come to fruition. You should look at the Brick Bin for some different animals. There is also a lot of new ones coming out this year. Maybe build the spaces for them in anticipation. I think it would be better to build big in the beginning so you don’t have to rebuild and expand later.
You can see lionbricks Video for how to build a seal
You could use your Jurassic Park set to create a cool entrance.
Can you show us the animals? I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series
Bricksie can you get flamingos?! That would be really cool. Love your work the city is looking awesome!
I know you don’t want to hear this, but this is the perfect opportunity for MILS.
I'm not sure if they make them, but if there happens to be a Lego raccoon piece, that would be cool to put in the zoo.
You must not live in the south of the USA.
@@springpondnc Um Alabama, how come? I just kinda like raccoons . . .
Cannot wait for the zoo
So excited to see the new zoo coming!!! Going to be sick! 🙌
You could maybe get some more animals from the LEGO friends wildlife wave from last year... I don’t know if they’re too girly or anything, but they may work
How about a ranch get some cowboys in there maybe a western area 🧐
Ah the Edmonton Zoo. Great architecture, but such a sad zoo, especially compared to the Calgary Zoo as you mentioned.
Looking forward to seeing your progress on this ambitious build. I have no doubt when done, it’ll be the best zoo in Edmonton.
isnt their cages really small?
notification squad! This zoo is gonna be awesome Jordan!!
Bricksie, you've been nothing but amazing!!! Look how far you gotten man!!! Excited for the Zoo!!! Keep up the good and amazing work!
A Whole LOTTA Great Ideas.... I Can’t Wait To See How You Both Implement These Ideas Into What Will Be An AMAZING Looking Zoo 😁👍🏼
You should make some moc animals like giraffes, or some birds. Dont make geese tho they are the definition of menace to society 😳
Nice i really love it
@bricksie you need to make a skyline train above every exhibit
It is a amazing feeling, when click on the video you send everyday
Instead of a Zoo, what about a animal sanctuary? And just focus on one or two endangered animals that can have a more realistic habitat and more space??
Just a thought, love your vlog!!!! ❤️
Hello bricksie love you
The safari can have zebra, giraffe, ostrich, rhino all together ☺
My local zoo has a walk in bird area and one of the things it’s good at is karma
I once saw a kid pull a peacock’s tail and the peacock scratched him
I may be a sick human being but I laughed sooooo hard
I have not been to the zoo in a long time
lego do make some of these Net, Plastic 8 x 12 Lattice that you could use as the cages type things?
Should do a zoo and then put in a safari like in animal kingdom with trucks going through the different areas.
Take a page from Disney Animal Kingdom for mixing animals (better come to FL to do some research!) also you could use sails for shading some areas
You could factor in a small dinosaur area like Calgary zoo
On November 17 while I was away, my teacher just filmed Lucy out for her walk on a cold day and she was eating in the field! And she just pooped on the grass!
I’ve been to the Winnipeg zoo and it’s so cool
