Delmore Bros are my favorite bro duo. Lonnie Johnson's take on this song has always been the definitive version for me. Have heard multiple other versions, some by my personal main men, my personal first team all-stars--doc watson for example. That said, none of em REALLY caught my attention--for me, Lonnie's was by far the best. And it still is. But this, this version--this is the swampiest version I've ever heard, by far. don't recall I've ever heard a version I'd call swampy. Awesome. Just awesome. Thank you much Mr. Perkins, Judds, et al. (and goes w/o saying--super thx to poster--who knows if I ever would have heard this otherwise)
Even though they were not all brothers, but half of them were, my favorite brother group is the Statler Brothers and my favorite brother duo is the Everly Brothers.
Alton and Rabon were my great uncles. my mawmaw talked about them all the time. she said when she was a little girl my great mawmaw brown which was their sister would make Sunday dinner and a lot of the originals from the grand ole opry would come eat and play gospel music on the front porch. could you imagine what that was like. y'all have a great day! I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this rendition of this song but each time seems better.
Now how good was that? Love the song. Thanks for posting this version.
Wonderful , Wonderful , Great team for this song. Wynona really has the voice for any song she chooses to sing.
Fabulous! They do it really good.
So wonderful !😢

This is a great version but my favourite is by the Rock 'n' Roll Trio with Johnny and Dorsey Burnette on vocals.
el acompañamiento vocal lo hacen los jordanaires? parecen ser ellos
Some really weird harmonies there . . .
