    Good looking trains. I did have to laugh at the beginning when you showed the first package and said “this one, I don’t know what this is” spoken like a true afol who may or may not have a problem. The struggle is real 😂

      I rarely know what packages are exactly 😅. last year when I was ordering way more random lots I would have to look at the tracking numbers and put them in piles for which video they went with. It's an AFOL problem for sure but trying to unbox everything on RUclips only makes it that much worse 😬

    Just a fun little fact. Intermodal cars, also called well cars, come in the 3 car sets when they are designed for the 48' or 53' containers. The 5 car sets are for ones built for 40' containers.

    Cool stuff, especially seeing all the trains run at once!

      It's been a while since I've had a chance to run more than one train at a time. I need a bigger living room! 😅

    Looks great! Love all trains running at the same time!

    The age old dilemma, 6wide is too small, but 8wide seems too large, and 7 wide is an utter hugely expensive nightmare that uses twice as many bricks as the larger 8wide and looks pretty much the same as 8 wide so I might as well just do 8wide and only run it with r72 curves.

    This is amazing.
    The original TTX matches the locomotive of the era.
    I would keep them together for a speciality industry where the freight is too small for the modern Mearsk sized container.
    For containers, would you consider making a pink for ONE shipping and dark blue for CMA CGM and APL Logistics, light grey Cosco, yellow for Hapeg-Loyd ect.

      I'm working on more containers now. The design for the Maersk containers can be very expensive, especially in certain colors, so I've been trying other designs. I am on the lookout for more stickers to decorate them with. I'm also a bit on the fence about what companies I would want on them. For example Amazon as a company has many problems but then again maybe I'm overthinking things 🤷‍♂️

    • @brandongaines1731
      @brandongaines1731 3 дня назад

      @BatteryPoweredBricks the folks at AFOL TV have some decent ideas for spoof corporations that closely resemble their real-world counterparts enough to evoke the brand in peoples' minds without needing to go through licensing and all of that. They have one for Amazon, I believe :-)
      And yes, this might be overthinking it, but there are certain companies that I won't allow on my model railroad, namely liquor, tea, coffee, and tobacco brands and Monsanto ;-)

    On your bnsf green goat why not make it a slug unit and pair it with one of your other units

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  12 дней назад +1

      I can easily change the programming to pair the green Burlington Northern with other units. I'm still trying to figure out what is fits with the best

    That's pretty cool, I've been working one a whole bunch of 8w wagons lately, trying to get them all ready to go on on rebrickable..

    Thanks for sharing, looks nice. Makes me thinking about my layout I will build in 2 weeks. More structured/orderly or more curves and crossings like last years...
    At this moment 33% chance there will be a train lift but I am not sure I have enough parts to automate so possibly manually operated.

    Where did you get the various points / switches from?
    3way and Y sets are cool space savers

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  11 дней назад

      They are a mix. The triple, Y and double crossovers in the video were from AliExpress (injection molded), some of the other switches were from TrixBrix (3d printed) and a few official Lego switches.

    Very Nice trains and like all the cars recently got another 60197 no have three built two locomotives into a dutch 1607/1700

  • @brandongaines1731
    @brandongaines1731 3 дня назад

    In what manner did you alter the build from the 8-wide instructions to get the center bit on the sides to be 4-long? I personally wouldn't mind there being no gap if I were to build these, and it looks to me like I might be able to get the containers to sit 1 or 2 plates lower in the well 🤔

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  2 дня назад

      I'm not sure what you mean, by the end of it I built them exactly as they are in the instructions. The ends with the "not a Jacob's bogie" are 4 long but the ends with the standard bogie have to be 6 long. Sinking the containers down more would prove to be a challenge since there are brackets on each end and jumper plates to center them. It could probably be done but would require some redesigning

    When you powered the two engines, how many motors do you have in each engine? I have a train set that I have a single Diesel Engine, but I have two motors in the one engine. I am planning on creating another Diesel so I can add more cars to my train. Also, do you have two power supplies connected to one controller?

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  8 дней назад +1

      My Multi Unit / Distributed Power video along with my PyBricks tutorial has all the info. The two diesel trains in this video each have 2 powered locomotives with 2 motors each, and then the passenger train has a single motor and LED set per locomotive. I used PyBricks already to allow for dual motors and then a member of our community modified the PyBricks code to allow the hubs to send commands to other hubs (as well as adding support for the LEDs)

    Hi, i have put a 9v motor on the emerald Night train. I would like to connect leds to the motor, I thought it would be as simple as connecting 8870 leds to the 8886 wire and connect it on top of the 9v motor. I thought the leds would get power from the train track. It doesn't work unfortunately. Can you tell me what the problem is?

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  10 дней назад

      Hmmm, that should work, although the brightness would be tied to the motor speed. Are the LEDs official Lego? I have seen knock off LEDs use the outer pair of wires that are normally for powering IR receivers and servos

    • @16maarten
      @16maarten 10 дней назад

      @@BatteryPoweredBricksyea the leds are knockoff, maybe i just try and connect a 9v battery to the leds

    Are you going to do a piggyback train or heritage units

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  11 дней назад

      I have thought about making piggyback wagons at some point but for now I think I have more rolling stock than I really need 😅

  • @WhiteWolf-gx8ll
    @WhiteWolf-gx8ll 12 дней назад

    It would look great if you built an 8-wide locomotive to go with them

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  11 дней назад

      The Maersk style locomotives are probably as wide as I would go. 8 wide is typically more expensive and takes up more space. Converting the TTX wagons was an exception to typically sticking to 6 wide

      Out of all shipping companies I've used USPS has the best track record but I have had issues or delayed shipments with all of them. It just depends on your location, time of year and various other factors

    Hey battery power bricks i think if you put all your train cars and locomotives together i think you could have the world's longest lego train

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  11 дней назад +1

      I kind of doubt it. I have a lot but I know there are folks with more. I would never claim to have a world record as many people do awesome things and wouldn't even post about it online. I do hope to get them all in one train sometime but it would be a BIG project and I don't think my living room is large enough

  • @NeeandMarie
    @NeeandMarie 8 дней назад

    Hey battery power bricks can you do a double stack train

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  8 дней назад

      I used to double stack containers but I can't if I'm using my gantry signal box, bridge or other accessories. Also this layout had to go under the table legs and the red cart and may have hit on that too
