I've never met anyone irl that even knows about shadow hearts. 1 or Covenant. These games should've been wayyy more popular. Amazing story and soundtrack.
Same. I'd play this over and over again before I waste money on the newer consoles with nothing that comes even close to as good as this, yet. I'm holding onto hope they'll make something amazing though. Right now, most things are just "okay" as a nice pass time.
+yogoshun That's cool. Shadow hearts 1 was actually my first video game ever. My dad thought it looked cool and got it for my birthday when it first came out and I was like 7 or 8. That's the only way I know about it. Replayed it when older and then again even older than that and I appreciate it so much more.
I heard the author of this game want remake this SH2 based on SH1 good ending which mean Alice alive and continue jounery on SH2 with karin koenig hope the story more btter and hoping again this would become reality
+Charlotte Blair it does, and it's really subtle too. in the fast part the song goes from being 10/8 to the last couple bars being 12/8. when attempting to learn this on bass I was trying to figure out why all the notes weren't fitting at that part, until i realized it had room for two more! haha
I wish one of this days this game gets ported to the newer console. They don't need to remake it just port it then I'll shut up and let them take my MoneH!!!
I swear this had to be one of my favorite theme songs battling a boss through out the whole game. I remember just replaying the boss just to hear this song...
Hm...the bass in this song sounds familiar... Oh, Yasunori Mitsuda composed this track. Genius. (Yes, it was Mitsuda. He was a guest composer on the soundtrack and this was one of the five songs he did.)
My first JRPG "experience" was with the FF franchise (which I undoubtedly love very much), but I think SH2 is the definition of perfect JRPG for me... hell, it might even be the best game for me: the characters, the nicely explained plot line, the (dark) humor, the music.... everything was just so perfect. I'll buy the $200 limited, special whatever edition if there is ever a Shadow Hearts 4.
Same, this game brings back so many feels and seeing the character transform is still a mechanic NO other game has even attempted to hit on. The sheer number of transformations alone. You can argue Persona...but you still have a set list of like 6 or something because you have to switch them out for Macca. Yuri though? 30+ and each one feels unique. This , Legend of Dragoon were the first games i managed to replay fully through. Hell i still go back, mostly as i have yet to complete the Lesser Key.
Really unorthodox song, but the more times I hear it, the more awesome I think it is... really took me by surprise in that battle in Apoina Tower. It's very original, which I really appreciate, and is somehow able to convey intensity without needing a lot of frenetic energy. Not to mention that refrain in Malay is catchy as hell.
it was composed by yasunori mitsuda he likes these unortodox boss fights songs, go listen to fate's soundtrack from chrono cross its also like this one
And it fits astaroth as well, since in the second battle against him (Neo astaroth) he is sitting in the lotus position, ironically the name of the original song the spoken part is taken from
On my fourth play through and still in love with this game. The music is epic, the story is cool, the characters are fun and the gameplay is genius. If I could I would listen to this music all day every day.
I remember, I really surprised when the first time hear this song when fight against Astaroth, the song when I used to hear when Im still child, Seroja, Im proud to be Indonesian, :D

I honestly love how they stepped out of the mold when it comes to the music in Shadow Hearts 2. Who made this track again? I believe the composer was initially trying to give Nobou Uematsu a run for his money.
I played almost every rpg game that is worth playing , all ff games from 1 to 13 and spin offs too, every tales off game, xenogears and xenosaga 1,2,3 , the amazing the legend of dragoon game..but shadow hearts 1 and 2 (especially 2) became my fav game of all time...everything was perfect graphic, characters, dark atmosphere, amazing music.. but the best was the story that stayed in my head months after i finished game.. if i could get amnesia and play again that would be great XD
