    2:16 and forward is VERY INPORTANT. The ship says "Action forbidden! It has been decried by the Kryptonian council that none should ever AGAIN give life to a deformity so hateful to (sighted memory?), the desecration without name..."
    What does that mean, you ask? Well it means that Doomsday has already been created once in the past. The council decreed that that type of experiemnt should never be repeated again. It also means that the real Doomsdsy is out there in the galaxy somewhere. Considering Doomsday cannot die. So, the one we saw in the film was just a poor duplicate. The ship was operating at 37% efficiency/capacity and it made this "Doomsday". Imagine what the real one from a real fully functional Kryptonian lab, from his original creator, having been hrough a million+ deaths is like?

      Due to childhood trauma, Lex developed resentment for God and a worldview that absolute power cannot be all good and innocent, but evil.
      Superman represented the very thing Lex was against: a good and powerful, god like being. Therefore Lex sought to demonize Superman, taint his image, before trying to get him killed, to try to prove to the world that he, or any god like being, can't be all powerful and all good. Lex was wrong obviously, but this was his motivation, not seeing Superman as a threat. Once Luthor learned about Doomsday, the monster became his endgame, a more direct representation of his views. He created him to release an evil source of absolute power to the world and use him to kill Superman in case Batman failed.

    • @KneelB4Bacon
      @KneelB4Bacon 7 лет назад +103

      So given Lex's feelings towards all-powerful, god-like beings, why would he create Doomsday? That's like creating 10 Supermans with a rock for a brain. What was Lex's plan after Doomsday killed Superman? Sit back and watch Doomsday wipe out all life on Earth? Do you see how Lex's motivations make no sense? As if an idiot wrote this script? Even Lex's ability to create Doomsday requires the complete suspension of disbelief:
      Lex uses Zod's fingerprints to impersonate General Zod and gain access to the ship. The computer believes he's General Zod, not just any random Kryptonian. Then Lex tells the computer to perform a forbidden experiment, using General Zod's CORPSE, which he happens to have with him. The computer even identifies the corpse AS General Zod, and obligingly carries out Lex's experiment when it knows that the order is coming from an imposter. So in the end, Lex's complicated plan to fool the ship's AI is pointless because the ship's AI is deliberately written to be dumber than a box of rocks.
      And this kind of stupid writing kicks in at every point in the movie whenever it looks like something might get in the way of Superman, Batman and Doomsday punching each other.

    • @juanprc10
      @juanprc10 7 лет назад +155

      Catzilla Did you even read what I posted or did you just skim through it? Smh....
      Lex couldn't accept the idea of an all powerful, god like being who is also ALL GOOD. That's why he tried demonizing Superman, to taint his goodness and heroism. Doomsday on the other hand, represented exactly what Lex believed in: Absolute power isn't innocent, but evil. That's why he created him. Get it?
      His endgame was the release of an evil force without any care for the consequences, due to his state of mind at that point in the film. Also, Lex didn't care much about humanity, but only for his own desires. We see that clearly throughout the movie.
      The ship carried out Lex's experiment AFTER he overrode its security, the AI says "Alexander Luthor, your security override has been accepted". Here, I'll help you out:
      1. Lex uses Zod's fingerprints to access the ship and his command key to power it.
      2. The AI asks him: "would you like to assume command?" and then informs him about the knowledge inside the kryptonian archive. Why would the ship's AI say those things to Zod? It's safe to conclude it knew Lex was a stranger and not kryptonian by that point already.
      3. Lex learns from the archive and later overruns the system.
      4. Having done that, Lex has complete control over the AI and the genisis chamber, thus creates Doomsday
      The writing was fine.
      Given the fact you can't understand what you watch on screen or even a simple youtube comment, you shouldn't be calling anything stupid.

    I think, Lex has tears in his eyes after he heard Zod's story, because he genuinely feels bad for him. I think, Lex admires what Zod wanted to achieve. Zod wanted to turn the earth into Krypton ; he wanted to be a normal person in his world and not a God in our world. And that's also the reason why Lex hates Superman so much. Because he stands above everybody and everything ; because in Lex' view he states himself as a God and many people also see him as that. And Lex hates the Gods. Zod wanted a normal life among his race, even though on this world he has unbelievable abilities and could be earth's ruler, and Lex admires that. That's why he feels so bad for him ; because he failed. - "You flew too close to the sun."

      Superman was probably still a kid/young adult himself when Lex’s dad was breaking his foot off in his ass.
      Then there’s Doomsday, born to literally fight and kill Superman OR any hero, for that matter, that would’ve turned Lex into human ground beef had Superman not saved him.
      Lex was semi-suicidal to ever create something like Doomsday lol. As soon as heroes would’ve lost/died, think Doomsday would’ve stopped? No, he would’ve razed the entire planet, either by hand or those shockwaves.

      That's the thing that makes little sense in this plot. My guess is that Lex timed it so that Superman would either show up *with* or *without* batmans head just moments before doomsday had been "animated" as the computor says. He would abort the animation if superman had batmans head I guess, but since lex "lost" and noone died, he said "I don't know how to lose" and his only option to still "win" was to let doomsday come alive. Up until here it makes sense but then what...? God is as good as dead, mankind has no chance against doomsday, mankind is completely eradicated? Not really an awesome plan....

    Let's address some complaints.
    1.Eisenberg Lex Luthor
    As with most newly introduced characters, they don't start as their finished product. And with CBM movie characters they're based after different versions of characters. So that being said, Eisenberg plays an early Lex, and he evolves into the common Lex, this phenomenon is called character development. Something people like to ignore when it comes to them complaining about the DCeU
    2.The way Doomsday looks
    Doomsday evolves, simple as that. He wasnt about to be born looking exactly like the common Doomsday, the bones and spikes and shut are an adaptation in itself in the comics, as a new born he obviously had no need for them yet or simply his body didn't know he needed to evolve, but over the course of the fight he was evolving, shedding skin, growing bones, getting larger etc he was evolving.

    • @gapebonganingwanaamotho2445
      @gapebonganingwanaamotho2445 6 лет назад +4

      P25C people understand character development but it doesn't mean you should start off the character, off character... There is absolutely no version of Luther which started like this.. e.g(sorry for mentioning marvel but im going to do it anyway😂) the Cap we started off with in Avengers is different from the Cap in InfinityWar.. He changed along the way.. But he was STILL in character in the first time we saw him. They didn't say hey lets start him off as a prick and an asshole so that he can involve into being noble. Lex has always been serious. He was never like a joker or riddler.

    • @SmilingSeraph
      @SmilingSeraph 6 лет назад +6

      gape ngwanaamotho this Lex never did anything like Joker. He was at best close to Heath Ledger's Joker which was written different from all the others. The Lex never really made jokes nor did he commit crimes in the way Joker would. He also never left clues behind as Riddler would. The most he has in common with Riddler is his condescending nature. This version of Lex manipulated almosy every character in the movie into believing Superman was a murderer. He also painted Batman to be a a killer of ordinary criminals, all the while disguised as a benevolent businessman with humanity's best interests at heart.

    “The Kryptonian archive contains knowledge from a 100,000 different worlds.”

    That can’t be coincidence on the number. Zack Snyder, you clever man, you.

    The extended edition of BVS gave me goosebumps from how good it was. I had hoped we would get to see the same thing with Justice League, but thanks to Warner Bros, we basically just got a two hour disappointment which could’ve been phenomenal if Snyder had been given the time to finish it. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the sequel.

    "Action forbidden - it has been decreed by the council of Krypton that none will ever again give life to a deformity so hateful to sight and memory - the desecration without name."
    There's a fan theory: Apparently, Krypton became isolationist and created the codex so that another doomsday wouldn't exist. It's also the reason why Zod transformed Earth into Krypton because Kryptonians might adapt and mutate into something like doomsday, even though he wouldn't be untouchable anymore. It's also why he called a natural birth as "heresy."

    Lex is not a crazy delusional man, not even when he looks like one. If he thought he could control Doomsday using his own blood, it was because he learnt that from the Kryptonian ship for sure. The ship was malfunctioning though ("37% efficiency") so something in the process went wrong and Doomsday went out of control. Also, Lex's blood was not Kryptonian. And Zod was not simply a dead Kryptonian (as the original Doomsday probably was... cause you have to remember that the ship told lex how another Doomsday was already brought to life in the past, and the council of Krypton condemned that kind of experiment) but a superpowered (by the yellow sun) dead Kryptonian

    When Luthor activating the ship using Zod's fingerprint, the ship can't be fooled, if you listen carefully, you can hear the ship calling "Welcome Lex Luthor" so it means that the ship knows who's the man in charge.
    About the 'security' of the ship, I don't think the ship need it, Kryptonian living like a robot, they're 'programmed' since they're still fetus, so they'll do what they have been programmed, the deviancy is only 1/millions, you can see that Kal-el is the first biological child that born from sexual intercourse since hundred of years.
    Besides, it's a scouting ship that's first used by Kara/Supergirl, so i think this is just like a ship for teenager, and not for war or invasion, so they don't really need a security there

    All the scenes when Lex is by himself...that the REAL Lex Luthor. The rest of the film is him putting on an act to hide his true character (a much like Dexter Morgan), a deeply disturbed man who feels no remorse no matter who he hurts or kills and feels that he's doing bad for the greater good.
