Each square in the oil level meter represents 250 milliliter. So when its all the way down to minimum its 4 x 250 milliliter = 1 liter. Real easy!
Three major design issues with my Panamera ,
1/ the drain design (sunroof , rear drains under spoiler get clogged)
2/ unprotected electric cables and units in the trunk (not protected from liquids)
3/ no dipstick to easily and quickly check oil.
Love this vid. So I’ve had 3 V8 Porsche’s now. They all will burn oil especially the turbocharged ones. In my experience the Liquimolly 5W40 has been excellent for everyday driving. For more sporty or track driving the Motul OW40 has held up really well in my opinion.

I learned if you it pour it "backwards" you lose the glug from the mouth. Owning this car has gotten me really good at pouring fluids in.
Really helpful. A lot of common sense but a little scary thinking you could put in wrong oil or wrong amount so great for confidence before doing it. Thanks for sharing. 😊

I just got this sign yesterday. It says Max. 1.0 quart refill oil but I still have 4k miles to go before my next oil change.
I have a cayenne V6 and the oil level dropped a bit (about 2 squares) over 7k miles, is that normal?

I just purchased mine. Within a couple weeks that light came on and I filled my shorts. Almost had the car towed in, somewhere. But I believe I read in the owner's manual that that was quite normal. Added a court and good to go!

@@TomorrowsTek Right?? Without fail, at 3,000 mi, or whatever the approximate interval is, the light goes off. But between 6000 and 8,000 mi I'm changing it anyway, perhaps sooner

Good VDO, stupid Engineering of Oil Level Check by VW / Porsche Engineers. The job which should take few couple of minutes by DipStick; now due to monkey engineering takes hour and lot of efforts.

Thanks for an informative video. I have a Cayenne GTS with same V8 engine. I noticed there is a lot of commonality between your car and mine with the gauges. Mine also needs about a quart from min to max level. A quart is almost a liter. - actually 946.25 milliliters to be exact. Move the decimal and you get 0.946 ml = 1 quart. I have two more comments: 1) When pouring from a full bottle, you minimize the chances of spilling if you flip the bottle around 180º and pour with the opening at the top rather than the bottom where air gurgles trying to get into the bottle to replace the oil being poured out . With the opening at the top, this is minimized. 2) The name Porsche is a two syllable word. Probably the most mispronounced car name in the world. At a Porsche Parade I personally met Peter Porsche, grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche the founder. He clearly introduced himself as he smiled and reached out to shake my hand - "hullo, my name is Peter Por-sha"!

@@TomorrowsTek You are not alone. Sigh, Seinfeld and Jay Leno both frequently mispronounce it as one syllable "Porsh" . Celebrities like them tend to perpetuate the error. Leno admits he's wrong with a smile, Seinfeld is too high and mighty to admit he's ever wrong. I made a typo in first post. "0.946 ml" should be 0.946 liters. The impt. thing is a liter is a little more than a quart. In the US they don't sell oil by the liter. I wish we'd switch to Metric system. Once you understand it, so much easier to use than our dumb English system but I doubt we'll ever switch.
@Craig Erickson 100 percent agree. We should move over to metric and be done, bur as you said that will probably never happen. My por-sha behavior building is getting much better since we last spoke. 😀
This warning was popping up constantly so i kept adding a quart then i ended up overfilling it. It was 5k repair to drain and clean.
The sensor is not reliable at all. I changed the sensor. Same thing.
Sorry you had to go thru so much trouble.
