For non-constant speakers, English can be daunting, especially if you have the thick dialectical accent, like Bisaya. But it's not for lack of knowledge--for Filipinos use English in school---but more for lack of practice. Jay's experience is par for the course.

Omg! I had the same experience before travelling in the UK as spouse/family visa 8 yrs ago. Been married for 10 yrs already that time and living abroad together with our son before decided to go back to the UK. Can’t understand why I needed to attend the seminar. I’ve been off loaded when I reached the immigration bit because I didn’t attend a CFO seminar which nobody told us about it. Our luggages was already checked in. It was Christmas holiday in the Philippines and there was no offices open that day, I was anxious and in agony. I live in the Province and had to stay in a hotel, change flight schedule etc. It was crazy, too much hassle and bad experience. Imagine The price of P250 ( if I’m not mistaken) that I paid just to attend that stupid CFO seminar, made us spent more because of hotel stay, food, petrol and change flight etc. Unforgettable experience. After 3 days 1Jan 2012 (yes! New Years Day it was) when I finally managed to fly to the UK.😌 Just disappointing that we were not well informed. Anyways, glad we finally made it.

Makes me teary eyed listening and watching you guys. Me and my husband has our struggles too in our LDR. Almost 2 years now that we haven't been together because of the pandemic. We just try to find time to communicate everyday to ease the situations.
It’s so hard, I do understand what you just be going through! The key is trust, communication and finding fun things to do together via FaceTime, planning FaceTime dates like watching the same movie, playing a game, dress up for a dinner date and both eat your dinner on camera, anything that can bond you both!
