    He is talking sense. How come some people are posting negative comments. Guess people can't digest he is financially free in a young age. I listen to him because I want to become like him. Financially free.

  • @trnchawla

    I am seeing some negative comments but he is simply saying don't gamble on stocks and start investing. When he says invest in sensex then he means index funds. He is asking his follower to invest in long term and then wealth generation will be automatic.

      Varun sir ye bataiye ki agar Kisi ne nifty khAreeda 10 Saal pehle 2008 me supposed sip for 2 years with 20k investment each month ab Koi 2 company jo us 2 Saal ke tym the wo barbaad hogaye Yani khatam hogaye 3 Saal baad ie in 2013 to wo company Ka paisa to 0 hojaega to ye concept Kaise apply hua ki long run me fayda hi hoga because 0 can't be multiplied pls samjhaiya

    • @rohitvasandi7207

      Zing Zang but thenoney should be invested in nifty only in sip method not by way of one time investment like Varun sir say in his one of the interview that 21000 should be invested at the time of the birth in this case it is possible that almost 5 to 10 company may not exist in nifty or even on stock exchange when the child will reach 60years age from 0 age .
      Toh kya wo baaki 40 45 company Jo 60 years tak bachenge wo compensate karpayenge 5 10 company Ka loss Jo exist ni karenge aur return 15 percent hoga

    I think what he is saying is true mostly for ~90% of the people, as now days there are no investors but mostly lazy Gambler.
    However at the same time remeber investment knowledge comes with hard work and thinking beyond.
    Some people have mentioned about the big names i.e. Warren Buffett and others but let me tell you, he is the guy who did not approach investment as single stock investment but he minutely study every company and got as much as information needed and they planned his investment nicely. He even mentioned that even if there were more companies in market, he will still start leaning about each of them.(no matter how many he would have, but the whole idea is to not be lazy, not be traders who put money in morning and pull out in evening).
    Need more matured investors and skilled people in market than then new bees who just got demat account and dont know what to do with it.
    I always says, invest first your time and learn as much as you can.

    Hi EIFS first of all a very big THANK YOU for the great work of financial literacy that you are doing in India despite all the harsh unjustified criticism. Some of them obviously have their own interests at stake and some are not ready to accept the truth. Before I came across your video I have already been reading about Buffett and his style of investing, however I was not really convinced about its efficacy in India as the electronic media in India keeps hammering mutual funds of different flavors all the time to viewers like me. I have a question which I would be grateful if you can find time to reply. -- What is your take on trailing returns and tracking errors with respect to index funds and how do you think a retail investor without much knowledge on these aspects can make sure that he/she does not lose money in index funds. - Thank you.

    My doubt about index investing is that, while investing in shares we get DIVIDENDs from shares, if we are invested in the index & some companies from the Nifty50 declare dividends - do we get those dividends / are we deprived of those dividends benefits. And which is the best option for investing in the index- NIFTY DIRECTLY, NIFTY ETF, OR INDEX FUNDS

    • @rameshparekh581
      @rameshparekh581 5 лет назад

      If you buy Index MF, you still get the dividends. The MF gives you the option to either withdraw those dividends or reinvest it in the index.

    Surprise #1: When I invested in Mutual funds in India, I did not know and no one told me that there will be monthly charges taken from my account(to pay MF managers). Suprise #2: I was not in the town or state where I took the MF. I was asked to go there and with lot of documents to close the mutual funds. This is done to simply cause delay in closing it.

    Off curse I got good returns. However then I compared 5 years of performance of top mutual funds with nifty 50 & sensex.
    By analysing data I found mutual funds have greater return than sensex.
    See mutual funds peoples know they have to outperform than sensex.
    However if you are looking for safe option the go with sensex & nifty 50

    The advice superficially looks interesting and it’s true no one can predict the world economy and events are all correlated and the stock markets behave irrationally however the Mutual Fund companies derive a method to the madness. They invest crores of rupees on research, technology and make attempts to predict. The risks taken are mostly calculated and they are subject to various compliance and regulatory norms. The performance by way of ratings is reported in most sites. However the common man has no access to any information most of his data is thru some random leads also when to buy and when to sell is always a question. It’s tough if you have a full time job. Mutual Fund managers help grow your money and they charge you a fee for that because nothing comes free in life. There are more stories of people gambling in stock markets and losing money so it’s always better to invest thru mutual funds than doing something you don’t understand. It’s like trying to do the plumbing in your house by yourself since you have watched the plumber fix it before.

    Thanks Sir, for the wonderful video, as you said, if I purchase some share in Index fund of any company, and if that company collapse, what will happen to my investment, Second question, is there any SIP which has no limitation amount per month, For ex. if I have only 1000 rupee a month, I can invest that or if next month if I have 30k and I can invest that amount too

    • @VarunMalhotraEIFS
      @VarunMalhotraEIFS  6 лет назад +2

      Thank you for your question Sir
      A1. Index Funds consists of a basket of companies (For Example - Nifty 50 companies). Money is allocated according to their weightage in the Index according to Market Cap. So, TCS is 8% of Market Cap of Total Market cap of Nifty 50 companies so 8% Funds are allocated to TCS. Reliance is say 7%, Infosys say 6% etc.
      So if a company goes bankrupt, you're well protected since you're money is diversified.
      BUT usually what will happen is that the market will recognise that a company is having issues way before it goes completely bankrupt and it's share price and therefore Market Cap will decrease and therefore the allocation of money to that company in the total fund will reduce and allocation to companies who are doing well will increase respectively.
      So, its a dynamics basket and any one company going bankrupt will not hurt results very much.
      Of course, if RIL goes bankrupt SUDDENLY then that would be a big hit, but even that hit would be to the tune of 8% of your capital. Overall we expect many companies to go bankrupt over the next many decades but we are also banking on other companies taking their place and doing very very well. We're essentially betting that investing in India in the long run will payout.
      A2. You can invest as much as you like. Usually minimum is Rs. 500/month SIP.
      Thank you

      Thanks you very much for the answer Sir, but I am sorry, I still have the doubt.

      @@sandeepbalakrishnan3352 If you are buying Nifty 50 Index Fund then your money will be distributed according to weightage of top 50 companies not only on ICICI but if you are only investing on ICICI shares then your whole investment will go in ICICI.

    • @MukeshSharma-jk8uh
      @MukeshSharma-jk8uh 4 года назад +1

      @@sandeepbalakrishnan3352 Index Fund is not of a particular company.
      You are saying "index fund of ICICI" - its an AMC (Asset Management Company) means it's just a fund house providing a way to invest in Index Fund.
      Your money will be distributed to nifty's top 50 companies through some AMC only.

  • @ankitwalia2180
    @ankitwalia2180 6 лет назад

    Buying the index would be a no-brainer for a developed nation like the USA; but for an evolving market like India where not all the quality stocks are covered by the Index, the investor would miss out on some major gains by about 5-10% by investing in the passive Index funds instead of the actively managed funds.
    Although this advice might hold true once our economy becomes saturated; but I don’t see it relevant for the coming decade.

    Trading is gambling to a certain extent, agree. Retail traders are not equipped with advanced tools and loose out money to biggies. Looses in form of brokerage add to it.
    Mutual funds however are able to generate good alpha over time and most of the fund managers have beaten sensex or respective benchmarks consistently. Advising people to invest blindly in sensex is nonsense.

    Unconvincing .. how much returns will index give you ? if its so uncertain why is index so certain ? Find good undervalued companies and buy them thats the mantra to build wealth.
