Hello, I have verified all connections between Arduino Uno, 485 and NPK sensor, also made sure NPK sensor's power wire is connect to 12V DC power source, the code also looks correct with the same address value as in the manual, but it still always gives 255 value for All N, P K values. Any suggestion how I could resolve it?
what other way can one connect this small pcb that has the potentiometer on it can anyone use this and apart from the arduino unit how else can the probe be used

Is there a way to 'ruggedize' the probe itself, i.e. the metal plating that goes into the soil, because I've read that it deteriorates with time.
It's not possible, this method depends on contact. You wanna use a capacitive sensor instead.
you didnt gave pinmode in analog one and also didnt define moisture at the beginning like you did with sensor state why?please as fast as you can.
