that's true, the setup is very well thought-out, not wasting any space. Compact and maneuverable - that's what we need. Even as they might no look that impressive, it's in first place what you make out of it Even as there are some FD which aren't equipped so well, most FDs don't have any (financial) trouble, e.g. 2 years ago the Munich FD bought 58 new Rescue Engines at once...
a small rescue truck used for the non heavy rescue operations like to open doors, pump out water out of e.g. flooded basements, supporting Engines at minor traffic accidents
with 420 gallons our Engines (3 Engines, pump panel at the rear) don't have a that big tank, but here in the city we have a very good water supply. Still for places like e.g. parks, forests, industrial areas, highways etc. we have 2 Tanker trucks, one with 660 and one with 1450 gallon tank, plus some seperate tanks with 1600 and 1300 gallons and one with 8800 lbs frozen CO² Yes usually the FDs here are funded by the community, city and/or county
lol,our department leaves the station also within one minute, but then they don't sit already next to the trucks but like 2 floors up or in a completly different corner of the big station (big means in our case 4 Engines, 3 Tower Ladders, 2 Tanker, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Technical Rescue, 1 Heights/Water Rescue, 1 Command, 6 Chief, 3 container trucks (with 14 containers), 5 transport vans - and yes all that at ONE station!)
Spent some time in Germany. All of the FDs I visited were very well equiped. I like the way the Engines are set up. Functional with no wasted space. I tried to volunteer but my German was not good enough. Stay safe.
english isn't my native language, so there might be some mistakes here and there; I'm not quite sure if the corresponding term for "Berufsfeuerwehr" would be "professional FD" or "Career FD", cause most of the time you just find the terms "FD" or "Volunteer FD"
during nighttime it's 2 minutes as well, but during the day we have to leave the station within 1 minute ... sometimes not that easy since the station's area is 520 x 440 ft big
Do you mean the time we need or the number of trucks in our station? Leaving the station within one minute and arriving on scene within max. 10 minutes is set by law, and well the number of vehicles at the station: it's pretty normal over here, our station is far from being the biggesr
yes they have a website, unfortunetely not with all their apparatus shown, but I have another website with all their trucks listed with pictures, I'll send you a PM in a few minutes
Would it be possible for you to post a video of a tour of your station? you got my curiosity as to what it would look like in there with that many rigs.
don't worry, it's good enough so that I understand it :) My english wasn't always as goog as it is now, to be honest I was everything but good up to the 10th class and almost failed the classes because of my grades in english. Then I went one year abroad to Norway, and taling a lot of english and watching undubbed TV helpef a lot: in the end it was my very best test in the final exam and am now in an english speaking course at university ^^
I'd say most of us are either firefighter, kids, or both. WE all do our best to get the trucks out in a timely fashion. When the tone drops we all do our part to get the truck, engine, rescue ambulance ect on the road asap so we can do our job. as much as we would like to brag and say we get our trucks out faster it matters only so much in the end. Did you get the job done?that is the question. Be Safe out there brothers...I'll see you at the big one...
Our engines on AFD have 750 gallon water tanks and top mount pump panels. Because of our response area we need the extra water. Not a big fan of the top mount pump panel. Are the FDs over there locally funded?
@EnjoyFirefighting our department is a volunteer department, so dont sit around and judge us that no matter where we are in the station it takes 2 seconds to get to the trucks.
Regensburg (City) FD, Germany. /watch?v=GFrCIbPUJbA we usually respond in convoy, e.g. the Rescue Convoy with Command, Engine and Heavy Rescue Truck, or the 1st fire-fighting convoy with Command, Chief, 2 Engines and Aerial Ladder; the extended fire-fightign convoy then would be Command, Chief, 2 Engines, 2 Aerials and Tanker /watch?v=QSc_jXd8Qmc
@mirrarider08 you're fast at the trucks, but then it takes quite long. I mean we need the same amount of time, but thatfor we got a much longer way to the trucks
sure, I took a lot of videos there and even also made a documentary, I'll send you a PM with some links in a few moments; of course they aren't all in one bay ^^
of course, here I have 3links, in the 1st one with all our units based at that station, towards the end also some pics from the station itself, the 2nd one a documentary I made two years ago, and the 3rd one a small video of us leaving the station with 5 units (standard combination for fire alarms): /watch?v=CD1DWQOX7bg /watch?v=GFrCIbPUJbA /watch?v=ot4iGr1N4Vk
first, they act as if 1 minute would be fast, even though they sit right next to their rigs, not far away like we do, and we still don't need any longer; Then, it's the only full time and paid station in the whole city, so "all that equipment" ain't hat much when you see that it's for the whole city area and beyond, some units are used in half of the whole state. And anyway, your comment about me having a little dick is just lol, doesn't make any sense
I already made plenty of videos and even a documentary about this station: /watch?v=aA4zXVfRtD8 /watch?v=GFrCIbPUJbA /watch?v=5-d9ZnXtehs /watch?v=QSc_jXd8Qmc /watch?v=xHzw7t1XvfA There are 11 small stations from the Volunteer FD spread in the city, but they only respond to support the full time station at big calls (just a few times a year). The full time station easily manages to get to any point of the city within 10 minutes, that's why all their trucks are at one station
Really giving the hell for not having remotes in the trucks for the doors? Must be nice to have door openers at all. My company needs to let someone behind to PULL the door closed.

volunteer firefighting it's the best job that you can do. Greetings from Poland
holy crap, and i thought our station was big... (2 engines, 2 BLS ambulances, 1 ALS responder squad, 1 tower, and 1 booster.)
Nice rescue, love e- one!
I'm loving the hustle. Great job guys
