I had the honor to meet Mr. Boots
I believe it was sometime in 1968 or 69, me and a friend of mine had traveled to Fresno and back. His car broke down so we had to hitchhike back. This little old man I'm a beat up car pulled over and picked us up. He introduced himself as Gypsy Boots. At the time I had no idea who he was. The back seat of his car was filled with these energy bars. He let us have our fill. The whole trip.he spoke of healthy living, eating and the sort.
He was a pleasant fellow. Full beard from what I remember. But I never realized 'who' he was until I heard the news on tv. I had actually forgotten all about this kind old man...until that day of learning of his passing. His stories and polite mannerisms just made the trip so enjoyable, peaceful.
Thank you Gypsy for pulling over and giving me a ride...and a memory
    Sincerely yours,
    Jon

Used to be fascinated by Gypsy boots as a kid he had season Raider tickets like us and sat 8 rows in front of us. His energy was amazing running back and forth ringing his bells and chanting during games. Peak nostalgia thinking about these times.

I met Mister Bootzin in Hollywood in about 1974 - He was full of energy and optimism at age 77… I asked him his secret. He said ‘Eat nuts & fruits like Gypsy Boots!’ - Well, I became a Vegan… Now (2023) I’m the one who is 77 - two weeks ago I got married (to a woman who is 45 - you can do the math, right?) we are BOTH vegans - we live in the tropics on an island in SE Asia - and after being a vegan for fifty plus years I gotta say ‘BEST DECISION I ever made!’ See? That’s my subtle low key recommendation to you. Not gonna push it on ya… But I am going to say it’s the pathway to a long healthy life. Be well. Be kind. Be happy. Peace!

I MISS GYPSY BOOTS. HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND OF GEORGE PUTNAM'S & CAME ON HIS TALK BACK SHOW WITH ALL KINDS OF HEALTH POTIONS. HE HAD LOTS OF RAW ENERGY. I NEVER KNEW HIM TO BE POLITICAL.

He may have come off as a bit overly eccentric for most people’s tastes and thus written off but, honestly, who defines what is crazy? Most of us trying desperately to “keep it together” and act normal are wrought with repressions and anxiety. We’re all crazy in some way but go to great lengths to hide it. Gypsy just aired his crazy out with pride.

I saw him down at Venice Beach one day eating a raw cabbage as though it were an apple. One of a kind.

Can I buy a dvd of this whole show? Gypsy Boots used to live near me back then in La Conchita the little down on the beach near Ventura. He was always in our Solstice parade in Santa Barbara throwing his football around in his 80's.

    Original “Teality” TV.
Why invite him on to bash him? Everybody knew him, so what gives.

GYPSY BOOTS! -- I used to eat his health bars regularly and am still alive! (Too bad Wally didn't for if he had, he might be also.)

I didn't notice this until now, but the chairs where Wally's guests would sit in changed as the show went along.

Forgot "Hot Seat" existed. Awful show, terrible host, animalistic audience. Yuck.

Great show. Frat boy audience was part of the act. Buy yourself a sense of humor.
