It is up to the individual to decide how to keep and enjoy the fry, but in Japan most amateurs do it by culling rather than keeping the whole lot. There are many fundamentalist people who believe that this is the essence of NISHIKIGOI, and I am one of them in no small part.
It’s well out order, I was looking forward to seeing that one grow. That was one of the new forest babies that I finally managed to get some growth from. I was surprised though there are far more vulnerable fish than that one in there😂
@@LeTwistedOne I know mate I’ve been a keen follower for ages😉 it’s been a lot of work getting any kind of growth from the new forest fry although the takazumi is beginning to push them on. I’m sure if I thin them out a bit the growth will come although I was never after giants it’s always been about bringing on as many as possible to put outside for this coming summer. As for good this tank had gone through 3 kg of Adam Byer fry food and 6 kg of takazumi since Xmas as well as oranges, shrimp and other foods.

They tend to predate on each other when they are growing and not getting enough food mate. Tbh 👍👍👍
Like most fish if it fits in their mouth they will eat it, lack of food isn’t an issue though😉
@@sparkyflips168 how old are they /when were they spawned mate⁉️
@@LeTwistedOne they were the last spawning from Adam Byer and new forest.
@@sparkyflips168 I had fry from them both last year which is why I was asking when you got them as mine are extremely larger than you'res 👍👍👍
