    Thank you ! I'm thinking of buying this boat and I really appreciate the quality of the video. Great to be able to have a good look at it.

    I have a J2 on my Sea Eagle Razorlight. Been running that Bixpy on it for 2 years without issues. Just bought the Paddleski and got a Tohatsu 6hp for it. Hope to Maiden this Saturday :)

      That is great. I love the J2 motor. It has been flawless for me as well. I am planning to get the 350fx and put the J2 on it. The K-1 will be out next month and that will go on them next. The PaddleSki is such a stable platform. My son can use the Bixpy on it and fish while I'm hanging out and fishing too. I hope you enjoy it. A gas motor is somewhere in my future haha

    The bow motor mount, is there a way you can put that sideways on the paddleski? Also, when you fold up your paddle ski, do you have to take off that cross bar where you attached to the motor mount too? If yes, does it seem convenient to that everytime Thanks

    • @jonping8

      I feel like the mount would be long enough to fit sideways, but I don't really know a good mounting point for it. The yoke up front is necessary where it is so that it can keep the pontoons pushed out and prevent the PaddleSki from trying to cave in on itself, so I wouldn't remove that. I do take my front yoke off just so I can get it packed up tighter. It is a simple process that doesn't take too long. If I am not too far from home, I can put the PaddleSki in the truck fully inflated and then deflate everything when I am home. I really do like taking everything off of the PaddleSki before I go anywhere though even if it takes a little longer to do.

    Can you do a video on how to add those switch pads on your boat? Thanks.

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8 Год назад +1

      I can definitely plan to do that coming up sometime. It's not too bad to do, but it does require some thought on placement and some patience on letting it cure (24 hours) before using.

      @@jonping8 What type of adhesive do you use? Also, when you attach it, does the boat have to be fully inflated? Thanks

    With the transducer, do you let it down even with the bottom of the boat or lower then that?.. Also, what type of adhesive do you use to attach the switch pads? Do you inflatate the boat when putting those on? Thanks!

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8 Год назад +2

      On this particular boat, I let the transducer down to as low as it would go and that was pretty much right below the surface. When you attach the YakAttack switchpads or even the Scotty pads to the boat, you will need to inflate the boat/kayak/sup completely and then utilize HH-66 Vinyl Cement. I inflate the boat, mark my locations with pencil and then tape around it. From there, I use a light sandpaper and rough of the surface slightly on both the vinyl and the pad. I apply a layer of the HH-66 to both places and wait about 5 minutes. I then use a heat gun to warm them up and stick the pad on the boat. Press down and make sure all areas are in contact with each other. You will need to peel away the tape from the outsides now and wait 24 hours before using. I may do a video soon on this process. I hope that helps.

      I don't have any affiliate links at the moment for any of these products, but here are two links for places that you can find it at. They can pretty much be found at different retailers though. HH-66 (www.nrs.com/hh-66-vinyl-cement/p14j), Heat Gun (www.walmart.com/ip/Wagner-Furno-300-Heat-Gun/154134135?athbdg=L1200&from=/search)

    How long can you go on your Bixpy battery? What the is the highest thrust motor can you use? Thanks

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8 Год назад +1

      I have not had a chance to test it out fully on the PaddleSki yet. In my kayak in fishing tournaments, I can fish a full 8 hours but that is not on full speed. Normally you can only go about an hour on full speed. Otherwise, adjusting the speeds will make the battery last at different intervals.

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8 Год назад +1

      @@NghiaPham-xi5so I feel like you wouldn't have an issue. If it's a Scotty downrigger that would make it so much easier. I understand that there are different models and different sizes or weights so depending on placement I feel like it'll be fine. I've attached a decent amount of weight to my Scotty mounts.

    How far down do you run the top of the transducer below the pontoon or waterline?

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8 Год назад

      I can't really get down below the water line too much with the current setup. The Scotty transuder won't put the transducer really low but it was probably about an inch or two. A transom bracket would get it lower for sure.

    • @user-nv2kt4td7e

      What Transducer are you running? Does it twist off center due to its weight?

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8 Год назад

      This transducer is a the Lowrance Triple Shot transducer. I can't remember the exact model number though. I have found that at the speeds that I am moving with the Bixpy, it doesn't move side to side much. With a faster motor, I am sure it would probably do that.

      That's interesting. They can be slightly noisy and the new K-1 is quieter. I've never had a battery overheat though and I own every battery them make. I'm sorry to hear about that.
