Well I guess by this measure I'm an advanced carver but I follow the master next level Ryan knapton. Like the video Made me feel a lot better about my carves
He purposely intentionally had them not the same lengths just to mess with you & to match the board, the day's theme was "ASYMMETRIC"..., ;-) #sidecut #heelside
TJ, please do the Proto T2 review. Been binge watching your vids with my son, you're a big inspiration. Can't wait for winter '17-18 (my 5th season) and try to emulate your cool style. Come ride in Park City too.
T.J., I've got a question, basically regarding the handling of asymmetric true twin boards. I've heard from somebody else that if you set your stance back much on a board like this, that it starts to get a little funky & the more you do, the weirder it gets. They say it's best to ride a board like this ideally perfectly centered & symmetrically duck stanced also. The person who said this is actually more of an all-mountain, true twin to directional twin type board preferenced rider who likes a little bit of setback, so it's obviously not biased coming from them. I personally tend to ride anywhere from perfectly centered to about a cm back or so depending on what type of riding I'm doing, the conditions/terrain, the board, so on & so forth, but from your experience, have you rode an asymmetric true twin with your stance set back much, & if so, what is your experience/recollection/opinion on how it handles then?
Hey Kevin this might sound dumb but how to you ride like you do in this video (45seconds), I've tried and I just don't understand the mechanics of it, it looks so smooth
ahh the revert carve, one of my first times doing this after doing the back 180 my weight transferred to my heels and before i knew it i was looking up at my board. About broke my tailbone haha
Is there a carve similar to the revert, but instead of a 180 you do a full 360 in a circle and go back down? Something similar to a skimboard wrap I guess is what I'm looking for
lol the Euro carve is the first way i learned to turn, something about being on the edge makes sense to me

Hey TJ In carving (especially learning carving) depends on conditions of ski slope? Im living in the Czech Republic and there is generally a lot of people on the mountains.. In few hours there are bumps on the snow.. I tried it few times, but I was not really successful in carve.. Is possible to carve in snow with bumps?
Hi TJ, I have a question for you. I have a burton ripcord 2016, blue and orange, I live in argentina, in one month here is the season of winter. I never used my board because is new. This my board good for carving and ride in switch?
Whenever I see a video on a slope in north America there are barely any people there! Is that normal that the slopes are that empty?^^ Bit jealous here in the Alps…
I ride "The Stone" aka Keystone quite a bit. The front side of the mountain is usually pretty heavily populated, but you can go to "The Outback" on the backside and get some pretty killer tree riding in. Also, you can go night riding on the front side, and there's hardly anyone on the mountain. Going on weekdays definitely makes it far less crowded. The snow is great in Colorado right now, we've been getting hit hard. Hope you're getting some nice days in up there in the Alps!
If i choose to practice tricks, should i give up with the stiffness? I wanna do a crazy carving and at the same time tricks. Will 3/10 flex boards be stable enough to carve real deep? I wanna carve as deep as my body almost lean on the slope. Would be appreciated for reply
Milenitza Milenitza yea don't give up. How have the last three years been? I'll consider myself just getting started when I'm at your age so ... just consider that. If you like it enough you will stick with it for life.
alright its about time so Prototype 2 or Funslinger? Buying a new board this season, most of my riding will be east coast so groomers and ice mostly. Interested in park but most of my riding is a loose freestyle vibe. I rode the funslinger on a demo day and it was a dream but didn't get a chance to try the prototype. Any comparison because you actually rode both would be dope. keep shredding!
flyby130 I personally have the nvr summer proto 2 and I absolutely adore it... firstly the aesthetics are amazing, secondly it's got (what I believe to be) the most well rounded profile, thirdly it's amazing for freestyle and starting jumps and stuff and switch etc. and I know the board is great on ice and cold climates (im from Michigan). I don't know much about the funslinger I think I saw the video on it but I don't remember it. I love the prototype 2 and I know it's a very popular board
flyby130 both awesome boards, you can't go wrong with either. The major difference between them is stiffness, the proto is a little stiffer, making it a little more suitable for all mountain riding, the funslinger is softer and more playful, generally better for Park. It all comes down to what you want to do with it, and personal preference. Both boards can do phenomenally in the park, and both can rip the whole mountain. I personally preferred the proto when I demoed them, but I tend to prefer stiffer boards as I'm a taller rider, and they give me more support when carving and landing, but I had a ton of fun buttering and just playing with the funslinger. You can't go wrong man.
SnowboardProCamp thanks a lot guys! I literally just got on a board for the first time 4 days ago and just from watching your vids and practicing today I accomplished a toe edge grab on a small jump! Thx for the help😀😀
The Melon and Indy grabs are great teaching tools to get riders in an agresive stance to lock the edge into a deep carve. Good video!
Well I guess by this measure I'm an advanced carver but I follow the master next level Ryan knapton. Like the video Made me feel a lot better about my carves
Check out Ryan Knapton, he is a real master on this type of carving
Daniel Zou yeah he has carving down to perfection. But i dont know if its fun to carve all day rather than have fun and mess around once in a while
SidiNic it depends on what u like to do on the slopes, both carving down the mountain and playing in the park all day log could be fun
Check out his videos when Ryan was younger (and skinny lol), he used to ride everything (thats how he got sponsored long time ago).
that guy is on a whole other level
@@SidiNic he used to be a halfpipe rider. Besides he's over 40 years old lol its impressive he can ride at the rate he does at that age
Well described TJ! this is the most difficult carves I have ever seen. keep it up!👍
Lol well I've done the ones with my hands on the ground on accident before...stoked to be a little more intentional!!
Awesome!!! Can't wait next season to try it hard!!!! Congratulations from Spain.
I can't look at the screen Tj's hoodie strings are always pulled out too far or not enough
Magnifire fr, it's activating my ocd
He purposely intentionally had them not the same lengths just to mess with you & to match the board, the day's theme was "ASYMMETRIC"..., ;-)
#sidecut #heelside
You can't do this to me TJ. I'll forgive you
haha, sorry guys. I blame the filmer 😜
jk
😂😂
Amazing video! Season is over and those awesome slush carves make me miss my board already
I love you
Thank you for riding this board! I love it sm, rock on man 🤙🏽

Teej ur riding is so effortless, watching you in videos is almost therapudic lol
Cool vid, looks like a fun way to make some typical runs a bit less, well typical.
Nice to basically have the whole mountain to yourself there!
4:54 this is how i look like when I loose my control :D
Hahahaha
Yea half of these are like that
sjeesh that is advanced for me yeah 😅. Nice to finally see the Proto out, performing real good
Those are really rad man! Will give it a shot on my next day off!

This board is perfect... It's my go to board to do it all!
its a great do it all style board!
Thank you very much! Very good explanation! I saw Ryan`s videos, but you explain better.
good vid mate, loads of fun trying these carves
You look so relax. I have trouble on my toe the most.
Yeah dude, shredding! Will try these tomorrow.
one of my fav vids, love Keystone as it's my home mountain....counting the months until I shred Mozart.

what size never summer board are you riding for your height and weight? I am trying to size the right never summer board for me.
When you slipped out near the end there doing a revert carve, explain what happened there.
Wow Ive never seen schoolmarm that empty. Even on a tuesday.
One question - when are you going to upload more videos of TJ? This guy is sick! Love his style. PS. What's the hoodie he is wearing?
Its the Volcom JLA hoodie there is a link in the description if you would like to check it out!
I was too lazy :)
Board Archive , how come no actual review of the proto type 2 board itself
yea TJ is the most skillful rider on the channel, no offense to kevin
The actual review of the proto type 2 will be released in the fall!

What I've been waiting for!!!!
Great video! Whats the exact track on the chukimusic channel?
Are you using on the Never Summer Proto Type 2 Board the Union Contact Pro bindings...
Love my Never Summer type 2
Good, inspiring video, TJ! But let me ask you a quiestion - what is your bindings setup angle?
Thank you :)
I got the proto slinger. Love it
Whenever I see a video on a slope in north America there are barely any people there! Is that normal that the slopes are that empty?^^ Bit jealous here in the Alps…
This is most likely a morning during the week. Weekends are way more Packed

6:16 that trick was sick
shredders shred on keep up the good holler if you ever in tahoe will hook you up my guy
Where did he get the hoodie? Looking mint!
When u and Ryan Knapton will ride together? He is the carving god
Why Ryan would waste time with beginners :D
He does have some pretty insane edge control, that is for certain
He did ;-)
Was TJ on the wide Proto or not?
What length board was it too?
And TJs boot size?
If i choose to practice tricks, should i give up with the stiffness? I wanna do a crazy carving and at the same time tricks. Will 3/10 flex boards be stable enough to carve real deep? I wanna carve as deep as my body almost lean on the slope. Would be appreciated for reply
With right technique board stiffness won't hurt much. Check out Ryan knapton if you haven't.
How do you keep your hand from shooting back on you when you carve really low?
nice riding..how do you swing side to side like that on your board
You are awesome. I'm watching with sadness, because I'm 36 .Its my second season and I'm so late to ever feel that on the snow. But I want it bad:))
it's never too late. quit your job, wash dishes in a resort town and follow your dreams.
Jeremy Carnagey Thanks Jeremy. I have the chance to snowboard and to keep my job. I'm getting better, hope the next year to be even more :)
You're not too old, dude. Just get amongst it and nail that carve.
Milenitza Milenitza yea don't give up. How have the last three years been? I'll consider myself just getting started when I'm at your age so ... just consider that. If you like it enough you will stick with it for life.
Love TJ style!!
Hi!,
This board profile (hybrid camber) shouldnt be a good option for carve if we compare it with a traditional camber.Isnt it?
When Keystone opens back up could you give me tips on my backside 180
Very helpful but where is that place
I was looking into the proto but ended up getting the Gnu Klassy
EOW North Carolina reppin ayeee
The chicken salad is Kevin's least favorite grab
Hey TJ! What’s your binding angles when you did these carves?

That hoodie is fire where did you get it?
Chicken salad is done with the back hand through the legs rotated 180 degrees what your doing is technically a roast beef but still dope
Is the NS West as good as this board in the park?
What size is the hoodie youre wearing? plz lmk
might have to get those bindings
quick question, what's your binding angles?
How does TJ get his hands on so many boards?
sponsors giving samples...seriously that's what it is....kevin too
He just hooks 'em up with the demo store
Awesome video!
Where did you get that hoodie?
The Counselor it's the volcom jla hoodie in the description
Tj is tha man!
Make a video of you going absolute full force on your carve, you look too chilling. Lol. I want to see and learn from it.
Great content! 👍🏻
How come you don't catch an edge when you are going from toe to heel side? Those transitions are pretty agressive
Can someone link me to the hoodie that TJ always wears please 💖
Props to the camera man for keeping up at light speed
does this thing that he does at 6.22 have a name? if yes whats it?
Where did TJ get that hoodie???????
I do double Indy grabs carves sometimes😂
Hey guys, I was just wondering what resolution/ frame rate you guys shoot at
1080 at 60fps
SnowboardProCamp thanks a lot guys! I literally just got on a board for the first time 4 days ago and just from watching your vids and practicing today I accomplished a toe edge grab on a small jump! Thx for the help😀😀
Yo T.J do you instruct?
I'm looking for a great carving and trick board ???
How about the eurocarve with your elbows touching the ground
which angle are you using ?
Where can I Get one of those hoodies boys?
what camera brand/model do you use?
Great video
call that a euro carve, its meant to be two hands on the ground
give the cameraman some credit like look he’s insane
I think I've done that last one on accident atleast a million times trying to keep myself from falling over while coming in hot on my toe side.
0:04 what's that thing u use for ur nose ? I need same thing

Pretty Smooth
Camera man having to give zero fks going down the fall line to get that sweeeeeet shot.
So did the Proto Type 2 live up to the hype?
It is a really fun snowboard, definitely one of the most versatile boards on their line-up!
