I have REALLY loved this DLC. The characters and weapons are all so much fun. I'm very close to unlocking everything, just 5 characters and a few things left.
The spell books are easily some of my favorite weapons in the entire DLC, Keremet Bubbles in particular is always a great choice in terms of pure damage. I'd love to see more tutorials like this for Ode to Castlevania, maybe do one for the whips with two of the Belmonts next.
Word of advice: once you unlock and evolve the spells, they help you with easier 100,000 kills especially when you have Gemini equipped. I love the spell books!
While duration is pretty handy for all spells from the Belnades Spell Book, some of them have a higher priority for area. Like why having Gemini spells that cover half of the screen when you can make them cover the entire screen.
The upgraded Gale spell is a beast with Gemini Arcana and the one that makes it bounce up to 3 times. It was my highest dps spell pretty much every run until the reflectio showed up. Not sure what all i had to make it beat the upgraded Gale, but that thing was like 2-3x the damage
I thought I wasn’t going to learn a whole lot, but I had no idea it worked that way with duration. A little disappointing that they didn’t mention that if you cheat out the evolution of a spell before getting the first one, you don’t get the original spell’s attack.
Given how deep they’ve gone with CV, I can just imagine how insane they’d go with Mega Man if given Capcom’s full blessing. Covering all eras of Classic, X, Zero, ZX, Legends, Battle Network & Starforce as a start.
There’s active weapons called spellstrike, spellstorm etc. but judging by how this is a very medieval themed game. It’s kinda crazy to think there was no spell weapons in the game.
I'm not a fan of the new hud and controllable cursor. I feel like it kinda goes against the core gameplay of VS i feel like the core is the dead simple controller and complex upgrading mécaniques. I feel like they put some of that complexity on the contrôles. I love the rest of the DLC though.

The spells are one of my favorite parts of the OTC DLC. They’re so much fun once you get them strong enough

Admittedly, I already figured out most of these in-game, so I'm here mostly for Shanoa.
I can only hope we get more of these for the rest of the 'cast', if only because the semi-in character antics are fantastic.
