Someone's probably already mentioned before but names like opera pink, Prussian blue etc are not even only a prismacolor, like original to prisma thing. There pigment names used in many many if not almost all watercolor paints. And I'm assuming many other paint mediums for fine art as well. Cerulean blue, Prussian blue, opera rose, lemon yellow, Hansa yellow, yellow ochre, vermillion red, imperial Violet, Ultramarine blue, etc. All very commonly used paint colors.
Originally when these pencils were introduced (the 72 set), they were marketed as a "Prismacolor dupe" since they had identical names to the Prismacolors. This is why I was referring to Prismacolor naming in my review.
@@PamelasPassionforPencils I totally get ya, I have seen all the reviews from youtubers like yourself mentioning that, and comparing to prismacolor. I actually do think that it's a good thing when a colored pencil brand uses traditional pigment/paint colors. Makes it easy to know what your looking for if you're for example a Watercolor Artist first then dabbling into colored pencils like myself. I just personally ended up so extremely dissapointed in the arttx 72ct set. Try as I might, they are just not very nice in feel or look in my opinion, on any of the 13 papers tried etc. But everyone has their own preference.
My husband is getting these for me for Christmas, I can’t wait!

I have the old 72 set. I love these pencils. I am excited to see the new set with the new colours. I am really pleased they swapped a couple the yellows for a blue and a purple.

This is a beautiful set. I have the "old" 72, but will order the new 126 set when they come back in. I sure don't need them, but I love some of the color changes. Will wait to use them except to play a bit. Thank you for all the time and effort you put in so we know what these new sets contain, and any changes made.

I have the exact same sharpener and I love this thing! just one really well meant tip for you! when the pencil is new like that at most 4 rounds are enough and for a slightly blunt tip sometimes even 1 or 2 turns is enough, that saves a lot of pencil 💚😊 greets from Germany!

I been waiting for this set to release I didn’t need them but I legit have held off and haven’t bought any sets or anything because I wanted these so bad they are a little cheaper on AliExpress so I went ahead and grabbed them there❤

I've been thinking about adding a lighted magnifying glass to my colored pencil sets. Reading the names and numbers and my own handwriting can be tricky... lol! 🤦♀️😂
Arrtx products are expensive and these pencils look really nice, I'll wait for a good sale before getting them.

My question is as before, that is how do they work on black paper such as Artagain? As you suggested, the Castle were not up to snuff in this department. Nowhere near the opaque coverage that I want. Just a couple of minutes comparing with Prismas bore this out, and I am sending them back. Thanks!
Thank you for so thorough review! I absolutely love the 72 set, so now... I MUST get the other one, :P. Pamela, I wander if you know anything about Prisma discontinuing the Lavender pencil? I've just bought my first Prismas' set and it doesn't have the lavender 934, but has 2 whites instead. Quite unfair trade, in my opinion, because there is no warning in the description at all. I would appreciate having your opinion in the matter. Thank you very much.
Your review is wonderful. I have the 72 color one, at the moment I'm not interested in the 126 box but it's a beautiful set. Amazon uk is priced at £62.99, I found it expensive.

I’m in the UK, just bought them on Amazon UK. Go to the link for the 72 and these new ones are on there as an extra option. They didn’t come up when I just searched for them as a 126 pack 💃

Was thinking of getting the 72 piece set. Didn't know they had 126 now. Happy I found a review for them. They look like very nice and bright pencils. Love that each one is different. They do look thicker. I like that. Does the 72 set colors are the same in the 126 set. Are is the 126 all different colors then the other set? If that makes since. lol. Who knows. I might end up buying both sets for my Christmas present.
All the colors from the 72 set are included in the new 126 set.
Jarlink is the very best. I've been using it for years now. Neon colors in all brands are just not like the rest - most of them.
So how many of the 72 set colors are included in the new 126 set? Is there Lilac or Parma Violet in the new 126 set?
Do U have a video for the new Ohuhu pastel markers? I have the 320 set and I’m confused which pastel set is newer and what colors would be extra from the 320 set.
Haha, the Shortbread was missing in my 72 set (instead I had 2 Yellowed Orange!), and now I was hoping to get it in the 126 set - but nope, it's gone 😆 Now I'll never know.
You should have sent them back for a new set when you ordered them. Amazons customer service is great when it comes to things like that. It’s okay though. The color was almost identical to the others.
@@PamelasPassionforPencils I had already "broken them in" and didn't want the hassle of returning them 😅, plus I saw in the review videos that the color I'm missing is similar to others. However, the vendor (Lightwish-EU) responded to me promptly and gave me a small refund, which I was very happy about 😊 - great customer service!

Ditto to anyone else who's commented that they'd love to see your final swatch chart of all 126 on a one sheet swatch chart!! I've had the full Prismacolor Premier colored pencil set since I think last Christmas, and have had no problem buying replacement open stock pencils when I run out of a color because of just how amazing they are. With that said, I was so intrigued when the first Arrtx 72 set came out, but not long after when I heard there'd be a 126 set coming out, I've been eagerly awaiting and constantly checking on Amazon!! So thank you for this review! 💕
I obviously know nothing will ever feel and perform like Prisma's, however, I've heard and read from many reviewers that these have come the closest. Perhaps they're more comparable to the Prismacolor Scholar colored pencils? I only have 1 black Scholar, and honestly when I compare that black with the Premier black back and forth multiple times, yes there's a difference (to me), but it's a VERY very slight difference. I wish I had more scholars to compare further against the Premier's 😏🤔
Do you happen to own any Prismacolor Scholar sets/pencils? If so, I'd love to hear your opinion of those vs/compared with the Arrtx pencils (the colors, lay down, layering, feeling of the lay down, blending etc.). 💕💕

I don't have the Prismacolor Scholars so I don't have one to compare these too. I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I will be finishing up my swatch chart soon. I will most likely put these in some kind of color family order, but I am going to take a break this coming week for the holiday. Happy Coloring!

They changed the 72 set (took out 2 yellows, added 2 new colors - as Pamela explains in the video). All the new 72 set will be included in the 126.

The bigger set has the same colors as the smaller set, but more additional colors.

I swatch according to my own eyes and the way I see the undertones in each color family.

Why are you matching these pencils up against Prismacolor? These pencils are not artist grade.
When they initially released the 72 set of pencils, the names were identical to Prismacolors. For this reason, many have compared them as far as the names. It's interesting they didn't keep the same format with the names which is why it was talked about in the video. I am sure many people assumed they would had continued to do the same with the addition of the new colors. They're not an artist-grade set, and not comparable to Prismacolors in that way. They are not nearly as soft as a Prismacolor either. They are a great budget set though.
You always say everything is good in your pencils reviews. You have people/company paying you or giving you free product for a positive review. That's how you work. Plus many companies use the same names not just this company .....so there is no difference there. take care
So you're telling me that:
They added a bunch of purple and blue (and pinks)
They pulled out some of the overabundance of yellows.
AND they added neon???

@@PamelasPassionforPencils Hahahah, I wouldn't actually unsub. I did wishlist the pencils...I noticed they have stars on the barrels and there was a very big fight with myself that this was NOT enough justification to buy. When there is a sale, I will probably lose the fight XD
I feel exactly the same way. I keep hearing about how the quality of Prismacolor pencils is going down. I have so many sets, although not as many as others, that I can't justify purchasing another set just yet. Right now my favorite (oil) pencils are the 100 Colors of China by Phoenixcolor. I don't see much about them on RUclips, but they lay down and layer beautifully. I've even been able to blend with them. Would love to see them get more attention.
My God if I have to hear you say "ok y'all" one more time I'm giving away all my art supplies. It's becoming unbearable I'm afraid.
