Every TV manufacturer wants to increase its diagonal. But do people need it? 😁
Imagine the smallest TV in the world (maybe there is an even smaller one, but at least one of the smallest 😅). It is based on the allpe watch, so it is not difficult to recreate it. The final design is up to you.

I’ve been saying for a while that for what some TVs go for these days, they should consider adding a nice wood veneer. I miss those old console TVs, some of them had really nice casing.

That’s some quality work. The rounded face of the watch really helps sell it as a tube TV.
It’s too bad that portable DTV tuners aren’t a thing (TechMoan did a a video explaining why if you want to know). It’d be a lot of fun to take the latest Watchman and put it in an enclosure like this.
U can use an rf modulator and some distribution amplifiers and broadcast to the watchman on any channel you want.
@@sideburn I know that there are fun little projects like that which one can do with them, but they all (to my knowledge) involve hooking them up to a big antennae or some other stationary object, which rather defeats the purpose of a handheld TV. Your solution is interesting, but it sounds like the TV would have to be in range of the device you set up, which can’t be very wide if it’s flying under the radar of the FCC. Again, it defeats the purpose, but it might be a fun thing to show off at some sort of retro-themed gathering.
@@TBustah ya I have that setup. Got the boosters of eBay for $15. And the rf modulator for 30. The range is about 200’ or so probably.
@@sideburn That’s not bad at all if you want to use it around the house, but the whole point of those TVs was to be able to watch anywhere. My dad had a real McCoy 1986 Watchman that I “borrowed” to take with me to Lake Tahoe and on field trips a few times pre-DTV. With the TV stations right there in Reno, it got pretty good reception and made what would otherwise be boring moments rather special. I didn’t have a Game Boy yet, and this was well over a decade before everybody had smart phone. No stores in my small town really carried comics, at least not consistently. That and whatever reading materials I brought was all I had.

You should have put a side hole where you can connect the charger with the watch through that hole.
