  • Part Two of the project and I'm delighted to introduce Alan Hershel. After submitting just a vocal track with no backing, I managed to turn Alan Hershel's melody demo into a fully realised pumping rock track.
    From Alan Hershel:
Freakshow Funhouse is based off of the events of "Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair" and is part of an upcoming album by Alan Hershel titled "Mystery & Murder." It is also the first of many upcoming songs by this rising artist.

The 'Produced by Em-One' series. Working closely and producing songs with bands and artists from all over the world to give their songs the 'Em-One' treatment and giving them the high quality mix and direction these songs deserve. I hope you enjoy this and the many others to come. Of course if you're a budding singer/songwriter feel free to drop me a demo at: em-one@widthofem.com and get in touch.

Absolutely love the music and mix. Hershel's vocal style is great. The lyrics had some great shining moments, but for the most part they fell into bog standard video game fan song territory. Still, this is one I'll come back to.

I mean, considering you've made this only from the person's vocals, this is tremendous. You are a very good composer, but you gotta ask yourself this. Who do I know that can actually sing? Produce the hell out of that person, maybe fishing people off your subscribers might lead to a lot of dead ends. I mean, unless one of these kids is able to study music. But that's the thing, I wanted more of produced by Em-One, it's sad to see a good idea fade away or not work out. I dunno man, I think you could make a living with music. Your lyrics and songs are already great. You don't need anything but your own talent to succeed ; )
(ALSO IT'S A CRIME HOW LITTLE YOU'VE PUT ON SPOTIFY, SERIOUSLY)

Even for a fansong, the verses are too "this is what's happening". The fact that what's happening is a survival game is not enough.
There's goodness in the first three lines of the bridge. Emotion rather than pure description. The motif it borrows from the first half of the chorus sounds great without the tensionless second half bogging it down.
Refrain and verse meter is off several times in a row, which gets annoying when it's a prosaic description of the situation.

He is not really doing anything in teresting with his good voice, its sadly very monotone
