I feel really proud that Canada accurately represented First Nations culture with this excellent window into the traditional beliefs of those who first inhabited this country. I remember as a child being privileged to have spent some time on the reservation and hearing elders talk with reverence about the Manaha. Seeing this episode years later reminds me that indigenous wisdom traditions are in good hands.
i think that counselor doesn't understand the difference between summer camp and boot camp. my camp counselor were either sports nuts or hippies and some college kids needing extra cash
Is that boy the same boy who did the voice for Arthur in the earlier eppisodes? I bet it is. A LOT of the voice actors for Arthur played parts in AYAOTD.
My fav. show from 90s on Snick i wouldnt like any other show ren&stimpy and the rest. All that and Kenan&KEl were actually realy good too. going to get tattoo of the matchstick
some ppl are just like that... he probably thinks thats how u be a leader. by acting tough, and by acting tough u need to yell to be heard? who knows, there are a bunch of weirdos out there =P
This was so lame. Then after "the end" everyone says "good story" No it wasn't! it was ridiculously unrealistic in it's execution. As i pointed out below. It had the potential to be the best and scariest episode, but they couldn't think of a way to end it. So they gave the kid knowledge that knows no bounds, and the courage of a lion, and the wits of Ben Gates(national treasure) With the foresight of nostradamus. All in a 10 yr old kid wit a field guide. Say it with me, ridiculiculous. So lame!
For the episode that had the most potential, this is the worst episode!! The kid knew entirely too much. He knew about magic, he knew about fear, he knew about native american statues, he knew how to ban a spirit, he could see into the future. I'm not kidding. How did he know the indian would return and to have his friends waiting to pretend to be manahas? How did he know how to use the statue to bannish the indian spirit? How did he know hoe to make the manahas disappear? And that is was magic?

If that counsler ever got into the military he would get his ass handed to him.
i bet the guy who played the counselor had a great time acting out his part
AJ Buckley. Not only does he sound like a drill sergeant in this video but he ends up growing up to play a Navy SEAL on my favorite show SEAL TEAM.
The lesson of this tale is, Stay home with snacks and TV.
I missed this show. Thank you for uploading this video.
did anyone notice that the comic the kid was holding is the ghastly grinner which is an actual AYOFTD episode
I can't go. I've got poison ivy.
"I can't go. I have poison ivy." WHAT KIND OF WHIMP ARE YOU?!
Fun fact, the actor who played Eddy would later play Andy from the Midnight Society.
And Johan’s actor would later voice Arthur.
He was also Ethan on radio active

Anyone ever realized he's Jason from mean girls?
It’s the Manaha!
"What kind of wimp are you?!"
"Any kind of wimp you want me to be, just don't make me go!" (lol)
Thanks alot for posting:)
The Native American villain in the episode reminds me of Injun Joe in Tom Sawyer.
"How to Survive in the Bush by Oscar BUTZ!"
The casting looks like the sequel to Stand By Me.
"It's Sergeant Slime Ball." LOL!!!
Great video
I love Oscar Butts! He's the best.
i think that counselor doesn't understand the difference between summer camp and boot camp. my camp counselor were either sports nuts or hippies and some college kids needing extra cash
That counselor almost pushed that kid over a ledge, luckily only his knapsack went over.
It also shows up in "C7" "Wisdom Window", "Dream Girl", ect.
Is that boy the same boy who did the voice for Arthur in the earlier eppisodes? I bet it is. A LOT of the voice actors for Arthur played parts in AYAOTD.
It sure is!

Intelligence?
This is going to be a long vision quest.....
If I had to guess, I’d say Lonnie probably has a tiny, tiny package. ✏️

If that camp counselor ever went into the military he would get his ass handed to him.
