  • Here is a no heat call I ran today. The complaint was the condenser unit would short cycle. (Rapidly cut on and off) Check out what I found to be the cause.

    Ran into the Trane cycling contactor today. Tried everything I could think of. Checked all the connectors, all the wires, found a voltage flutter at the timer delay board. Replaced it. Same shit. Was ready to cut the lines and roll it down a hill somewhere when I found your video. Checking the pressure switches for cracks tomorrow! Thanks for the tip!

    Great diagnostics overview. Glad you found the problem. I would never suspected a cracked lp switch to be the issue . Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for sharing. That sir is a good find. Will you be going back with an OEM switch. I find it annoying that one must open the system to make that repair. Hopefully no unsuspected leaks if you do.

    I have a unit that kicks on and kicks off like sounds like if I were to hit my breaker switch on and off than would start eventually, should I just keep it off til I get it repaired??

  • @Akvan79

    I have had this happen to me. Lucky for me I accidentally tugged in the wire and the whole head of the switch came loose.

    My Trane 3 ton heat pump works on heat cycle but locks out on cooling after 5-10 minutes with high pressure or won't go into cooling at all. Techs have already changed the capacitor, compressor relay and the reversing valve and it's still happening. Could it be the high pressure switch?

    Those pressure switches can affect a system just like any other component

  • @KingGio71
    @KingGio71 8 месяцев назад

    When you replace switch. Do you air out all the freon? Then refill?

    • @digiwrench863
      @digiwrench863 8 месяцев назад +1

      what are the odds... something like this being said withing 5 years. as im looking for my resolution for energized white during heat... not defrost.. and with white and black disconnected at cdu. new df and ambient sensor...board old ass resi trane gave me a fit today.

    • @KingGio71
      @KingGio71 8 месяцев назад

      Ok. But today tech bypassed my low pressure switch on the condenser. He said if he's removing one he might as well do both. Said that the freon must be taken out. Then refill. True or not?

      Perfect spot to use a pinch off tool to replace Lp safety or just Pinch off, snip and weld.

    • @HVACinSC
      @HVACinSC  5 лет назад

      Technically everything is a future leak.. 🤔🤔😉
      All I can do is quote repairs. In the end it's on the customer.

    Tore down the whole unit to find that by pass the pressure switch and roll on order the part u don’t need to take the whole unit apart to do that lol

    • @HVACinSC
      @HVACinSC  4 года назад +1

      Its sort of what the channel is about big fella. Showing real up and coming techs what different failures look like. Not how to half ass and hope. 😆

    • @joesours6751
      @joesours6751 4 года назад

      HVAC in SC well if u by pass and come back the new high low pressure switch comes with new wires so that would cover your ass

    • @HVACinSC
      @HVACinSC  4 года назад +1

      You missed the point of my responce. As I said..... This channel is for techs to see different failures. Not to see a 5 second video that says bypass the pressure switch.
