Dear sir. In Egypt we also call this drum Tabla طبلة, sometimes also transliterated as "Tublah" . Yes it looks different from your seated Tabla & Baya two adjacent drums that are played in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. In Arabic language, the world طبلة means "drum" and that's what we call it in Egypt. Other Arab countries may call it Darabuka or Derbeke. Hopefully people can appreciate that reality that makes our world so interesting, despite the confusion. And thank you for appreciating my performance.
