Absolutely! One thing Crypta and Nervosa always needed was the bass being brought up front. There's one live Nervosa show filmed near Fernanda's monitor, so the bass is super-heavy in that... and it's the best the band ever sounded. I love that they've emphasized it more.

"A raging monster on its own, Shades of Sorrow begins with the instrumental piano intro track “The Aftermath”, creating an ominous atmosphere before “Dark Clouds” kicks straight off with feral growls to drop jaws, showcasing the full extent of the band’s striking interplay from the very first second. “Poisonous Apathy” features electrifying guitar sounds and prominent hard-hitting bass, creeping into the listener’s brain. Ruthless “The Outsider” unleashes a massive drum attack and another ferocity of coals, before it fades into a softer outro that melts seamlessly into the intro of “Stronghold”, one of the slower and more melodic tracks on the album. Outstanding death metal drumming on “The Other Side of Anger” sets the scene for threatening vocals, evoking an uncontrollable storm. This is like the
UNITED NATIONS of influences. A clear black metal influence. Then slams down to an 80s thrash double kick. Jessica's solo has a slight Hammett influence. Taina's solo mixes Vai and Rhoads. Powerful Machine gun drums. Flawless vocals. Love this band. Love this song. Freaking awesome

The mighty Crypta continue their ascendency. Fernanda's vocals have improved considerably. She has got the growls and shrieks down to a fine art now. Taina and Jessica bring their master class guitar work and Luana is a powerhouse on the drums. These ladies are innovators not imitators, fusing both classical death and black metal to create a unique sound. I'm sure the album is gonna be immense! 👍
2 albums and they just fused or blend listless number of guitar techniques, tones, bridges , drum work. They set the standard high while keeping a brutal death metal identity. They indeed are innovators setting the bar high for people that want to create this kind of metal. All songs have variations in a great number of ways but all of them keep a raw death metal essence that unites them. Nothing else to ask for. This is one of the greatest album in The genre in human history. It has progressive or multi-step elements that make this album a swing of emotions. It also has trashy tempo changes that completely add a delicious element of surprise. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 🎉❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 fascinating. There also some snare modifications on Luanas kit that are breathtaking. It’s a top notch 5 star album or a perfect rounded 100% . These Brazilians mesmerized the universe with such intricate , complex and full of fluctuations or versatile (death metal, progressive , trash, black all is included) album. What a Bliss.

This fucking slays! The raw (but still pristine) production gives off 90s metal vibes, I love it so much. Not gonna lie, I’m usually into melody more than dissonance, so I’m pretty happy to see more melodic bits here, mixed with your blend of death, thrash and black, it’s a unique sound. Also love how the guitars sound so different from one another, Jéssica’s with a more surgical and piercing sound (kinda like Dave Murray’s), and Tainá’s with a more mellow and atmospheric sound (kinda like Adrian Smith’s). Can’t wait for the new album!

Fernanda and Luana still kicking ass on the bottom end. Jessica and Taina with surprising harmonic solos. Again, I hate that Nervosa fell apart but I love that we got 2 awesome bands out of it.
I kind of think the situation shows Fernanda and Prika are better off doing their own things. I would say the break up of the Nervosa line up after the initial split (Diva Satanica and so on) is a bigger issue, because that was a good band and there is still a need to see where their new line up gets to.
Crypta are doing brilliantly though, and have their line up and approach totally nailed - just need to keep going. Crypta are doing music with more influences and interest than we would ever have got with old Nervosa.
Not only great music, but great production... each instrument pushed to the limit sounding brutal and melodic at the same time! Wonderful girls!

Frakking amazing! Crypta is, quite simply, a collevtive force of nature. Love the mix on this track. All of the instruments have an equal, and wonderfully heavy, presence. Fernanda's vocals are definitely becoming more precise and refined. Love the growl! Tainá and Jéssica are the perfect Shredding Sisters. Impeccable talent! Luana is an absolute beast on the drums! Can't wait to hear the rest of the new album. Hope to see them live on their next U.S. tour! Keep it going, Crypta!!!

Main riff - the one with blast beats - sounds Dissection like to me. They make the chorus more melodic than they would though.

@@pavez_leo_ii816 yeah good point! I have always looked at Black Metal as two different versions within the same genre. Dissection sound being one and Mayhem style the other. I think Crypta mirrors Dissection in so many of their songs especially with the melodies and two guitarist. Also their lyrical content is much closer to Black Metal lyrics than anything in the Death Metal realm. I consider Death Metal to be Cannibal,Cattle Decap,Morbid Angel and so on. I guess everyone interrupts things differently and has their own opinion. I don’t even consider them a Death Metal band at all actually. But it’s all good,horns up
