  • Advocates recommended those facing significant challenges to affording their rent attempt to negotiate with landlords or consult the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati to better understand renter rights.

    a single eviction across the country is taking up to 14 months to complete. I see Landlords filing early, as they hope that their tenants will consider moving over having an eviction on their record or getting sued for backed rent.

    • @apllu17
      @apllu17 Год назад

      @Diego Gaspar Not all landlords are making it out. More and More unjust policies keep getting passed. L.A County extended their eviction moratorium until June 2023 (creating new standards that have nothing to do with the pandemic). And Los Angeles City is not permitting landlords to raise the rents until June 2023, not considering that even landlords are being hit hard with higher cost to run their rentals.
      I am seeing folks pulling their rentals, selling. Being foreclosed on, and their credit taking a nosedive.

    Landlord file evictions when rent is late, some might give a grace period. But when a tenant tells you straight up they don't have it, what is landlord suppose to do, say oh shucks. The checks in the mail, and I will pay you Tuesday for hamburger today. Landlord have heard this BS before. The women in story acts like landlords shouldn't file for eviction.

      @@Miakitty4233 A 300 hundred dollar raise, with no notice is cold, callous. What my comment was referring to was the reporter "landlords filing eviction after weeks, not months, of no rent" Experience tells me, once a tenant is weeks late, they might catch back up just when rent is due again. And then the song and dance starts again, before you know it there two months behind and move out in the middle of the night.

    In 2009 I lost my job at Boeing. Sold my 300k house after my wife died same year. During this time I was visiting town on return trip and I asked many American friends of mine if I could stay with them for a week because I was looking for a cheaper house . Nobody obliged, many did not answer my call or refuse me .
    I remember many years before that I let American families with children when family was homeless. Because of my Indian background I was nice and helped a Mormon family.
    In order to test him after they moved out after months of stay I asked him if I could stay at his place after he found his job for few days only.
    He flatly refused. He knew I was moving out for some time, I needed a place to stay.

    I always see these videos on rent hikes. The fact of the matter is people need to downsize , live within their means, quit vacationing, quit buying BMW and expensive F150 etc, quit buying and consuming alcohol.
    I used to live in 45 k house while my friends family lived in a 600k house, now they are bankrupt.
    So when I see all these videos I don't feel sorry. I used to have woman friend who was on food stamps. Looking into her refrigerator she had better food than me. I could never afford that expensive hamburger meat etc she had.
    So I don't care for all these youtube videos unless if it is a genuine case. But those are not many. The fact is in USA most are spoiled rotten.
    If you don't believe visit other poor countries than you will know how good you have it here
    Especially how Democrats hand out so much free money.
