I am super impressed you repainted. I am usually sick of my life after painting once and if I didn’t like it I’d just learn to live with it 😅. It might look nice to add some legs to your shoe storage to raise it a little and cover the radiator more.
Its actually really inspiring that when things don't turn out right, you just take the time to get it perfect, instead of just 'learning to live with it' and giving up. Thanks for sharing your process, the bad and the good!
I appreciate that you show the REAL side of home reno. We're going through a very similar renovation on a 70s ranch, DIYing nearly everything, and sometimes I get so down over all the parts of our house that are currently in disarray and have been for a while. Peeling paint, unfinished baseboards, missing walls, etc. etc. And all the boxes EVERYWHERE. Watching your videos makes me feel so much more like our situation is normal natural growing pains of buying a fixer upper vs. the before-and-after videos you usually see.
wow it turned out beautiful! You were the first person I ever watched on youtube (when I was maybe 12? so over 10 years ago) I have been away from youtube for a while so it makes me so happy to see you are still making videos! (and are married! and a homeowner!) I feel like I grew up with you and your videos :') so thank you
Ugh, it's BEAUTIFUL, green is my favorite color and while I don't personally usually gravitate towards floral prints this works SO WELL here! The space looks so bright and alive and yet still cozy enough to be inviting!! 💚
I've always had a dislike of wall paper, but a love of ferns and leaves. And the wall paper you have is so perfect. It brings nature inside and I love it so much.😉 Job well done.😊 As I said before , you have the knack for making a house, a home . And doing so beautifully. Love it!💚
Open stairs just give me the willies. I always envision my foot somehow going out through the back? I get a general feeling that they're not safe. I know I'm weird. the entryway looks great!
that warmer green is absolutely beautiful! so much better in that entryway than the turqouise (but im surprised that i feel like i would like that initial color also but maybe used somewhere else, its a very calming tone)
The entry is beautiful. Well done! I really liked the first blue/green paint, but I agree it did not go with your wallpaper. Have you thought about painting the powder room door green with white trim?
Me too. Loved that color in and off itself. It's so annoying, when you choose something you really like in the store and then it just doesn't fit into your home 😆
What a stunning transformation! I love the coat and shoe storage being tucked away behind the stairs; that is perfectly functional while looking wonderful!
great idea! If you add legs to the shoe cabinet to raise it up, add a piece of wood to make a shelf/counter going over the radiator and the shoe cabinet, and paint the cabinet and shelf the same color that would look like a custom job!
I hope your front door is blue like or maybe the carpet on your stairs when you switch it out has hints of blue to tie in the bench! Love the entryway its great.
I love that green and wallpaper is perfect, currently I'm doing my reno in my very small living room using sage green as accent wall. Thanks for sharing your home
it all looks so lovely and inviting. i do wonder, though, why you did not paint the black shoe cabinet to make it look more custom and less straight from ikea. also, i'm wondering if you will reupholster the nice bench so that it is in coordinating fabrics. i am certain that is something you could easily accomplish.
This looks lovely! 🌻 It fascinates me when people have such a good feeling for interiors. I always find it really hard to imagine something that actually looks good in real life, and make the best out of the features of a room.
I've never thought of the hidden potential of entryways before. When you first started I didn't see the vision, but boy did you prove me wrong. It looks AMAZING, nice job!
Exactly my thoughts!!! I dont think its a space i would have ever thought to renovate and yet shes so right to have dedicated time to it since it DOES give you a first impression on the vibe of the rest of the house for sure!!!
One of my favorite things about RUclips is finding inspiration from people you'd otherwise not find inspiration from! You and I have completely different styles, but your designs are stunning. I could totally see myself designing a room similarly but in my style. Your design elements are just delightful.
This turned out so beautifully charming! The color choices in the end turned out beautiful! Congratulations to you and Robbert and all your guests who will cross your threshold into your home!
Wow this is so beautiful! I got so hyped from your teaser on your IG stories. Clicked so fast on this video. We recently bought an older home (1973) ourselves and your videos give me hope that changes can be done. Beautiful and peaceful style as always.
I liked the turquoise with the wallpaper better but I understand you have browns (stairs, door) that clash with it. It they were black gray or dull sand color it work but those arent your color. Turned out great with your vision regardless
I feel your pain with the colors...I had a perfect color for the living room and then I looked at it in the light and instead of this dusty sand color, it was more of a golden sand. And it drove me insane, so back to the store until I found the shade match. :D
I am very slowly decorating my home after moving in in July. I think you’re much further than I am (holding painting until we replace our windows so several rooms are still packed) but I am getting so many ideas I’m excited!
oh man!! you have the typical ship style steep and narrow Dutch staircase, lol!!! my first experience with those kinds of staircases was at a family members near Lille France, in that part of France the architecture is similar to Dutch and Belgian buildings. Oh my gosh!! I was not expecting steps like that, hahahahhaha, it was just like being on a old sail boat, lol, I actually had to climb down backwards because I just wasn't comfortable enough to walk down the steps normally, lol
When you use different brands of white for the base and mix with a specific color code it not allways comes out 4he same because the white start don't look the same
Love the make over! It looks so inviting & cozy. Don't know think you showed this, but did you also switch out the light fixture as well or are you keeping the existing one? Just asking because it seemed a tad dark, but otherwise, is so lovely!
@@Loepsie I think the black works well! I was referring more to the amount of light, so perhaps a brighter bulb would fix that. Anyway, I think it all looks great! Have been really enjoying seeing the progress :D
Can I ask where your gold necklace you paired with the sweater in the intro/outro is from? I'm guessing Ana Luisa because I know you like them, but it's beautiful!
@@Loepsie Are you going to remove it when you redo the stairs down the line? I think it would look really good if you make them in wood that matches the bannister
Probably, but we might just add back a different carpet or at least a runner. We're a clumsy household, I've been saved from injury many times by nice plush carpeted stairs! 😂 And I like how it muffles footsteps
Turns out ikea kallax double depth fit beautifully under the stairs. And of course you can stagger them. I have cheaper cloth baskets in the back row and posh baskets at the front. Great for shoes and winter stuff. Although I confess one is full of chocolate and crisps……

I love your reno videos. Your entryway looks fabulous! Your idea for closing the stairs and and putting a closet under them is perfect.

A professional interior designer couldn't have done better. It's perfect 👏👏👏

This style is what’s on my Pinterest board!! Absolutely stunning!! Love the green and the wallpaper!!
Your Saga of the Greens is exactly, EXACTLY what happened to us a few years ago 😂

What a lovely space! It sets a calming and inviting tone for your home. Perfect!

We have a very similar radiator situation. After a little glove accident I cut a piece of wood to fit on top and now we have an additional shelf.

Absolutely beautiful and inviting. The entryway now is like.. “welcome home!”
The other green color that is warmer looks much better! Good job! I'm glad you found an alternative:) I love your renovation videos!
That looks lovely!
I love that you have your own home now and can try out various projects. Real nice outlet for your creativity.

Really well done, Lucy!!! The wallpaper is so dreamy and the green is so cozy!! 🌿
Holy Crap Lucy this looks soooo freaking good! Seriously I've loved watching your remodeling videos and this one is such a standout result!
It is beautiful. You have put together a very welcoming introduction to your home in this entry.
This looks lovely! 🌻

It looks great! You somehow made wallpapers look good :P

Just a tip: you can get the stairs closed off. That way the dust won't be a problem.

Hi I love wallpapering easier than folk think
Enjoy it is good

Beautiful! Absolutely stunning. ❤️
You did such a good job!!! The entryway looks wonderful!
It looks so good! You guys did such a good job on it. ❤️😁
I love it! And I LOVE your face when you did the outro and were so pleased! ❤️❤️❤️
This looks amazing! I have so enjoyed watching your process throughout the whole house. ❤
Thanks so much! 😊
It’s beautiful 😍 Great job!
It's so cozy and welcoming 🤍🤍
The brown-y greige color you used to "warm it up", looked really cool-toned to me.
Everything came out much cooler in this room than expected. I swear it was warm when I had it mixed, haha!
I feel your pain with the colors...I had a perfect color for the living room and then I looked at it in the light and instead of this dusty sand color, it was more of a golden sand. And it drove me insane, so back to the store until I found the shade match. :D
I was curious at how everything was going to look but I love it! I've definitely wanted to try wallpaper but never made the leap.

It is gorgeous Lucy!!!
Love this space. You have a great style!
Thank you so much!
Love your video! Very inspiring and so heartwarming.
Me encantó como quedó!!!
Voy a tomar inspiración de tu video!!!

I’m in love with the wall paper! Your enter way is beautiful! Stunning!
Thank you! 😄
Love it! Your dtil of naking videos is great!
It’s so beautiful! ❤️
You give me hope I can do this to our house one day ❤️
When you use different brands of white for the base and mix with a specific color code it not allways comes out 4he same because the white start don't look the same
love how it turned out! i was wondering where u get ur wallpapers from, both this and the one in the bedroom look stunning :)
Thank you! They're both from Summer Gray Amsterdam 😊
Ohh where did you get the wallpaper from which brand is it please? My kitchen has the same green color and I search a wallpaper like yours ❤
Omgggg it looksss amaizingggg💗💗💗
Thank you! I'm quite pleased with it myself 😁
Love the make over! It looks so inviting & cozy. Don't know think you showed this, but did you also switch out the light fixture as well or are you keeping the existing one? Just asking because it seemed a tad dark, but otherwise, is so lovely!
We put this one up when we moved in, I think it works well with all the black accents in the room 😊
@@Loepsie I think the black works well! I was referring more to the amount of light, so perhaps a brighter bulb would fix that. Anyway, I think it all looks great! Have been really enjoying seeing the progress :D
Are those stairs as crazy steep as they look in the video or is it just an optical illusion?
Haha yes, they are. Although they're actually very moderate for Dutch standards 😂
@@Loepsie I would fall down those on a daily basis. I’m not very coordinated.

zo prachtig!! op welke site/in welke winkel heb je je behang gekocht?? 😍😍
Summer Gray Amsterdam! 😊 (dat is een webshop dus, haha)
@@Loepsie Bedankt!
I just started the video, but pleaaase tell me you are going to take off the carpet from the stairs
🙈
Hahaha, It looks beautiful, love the wallpaper
Lol I know keeping the carpet is a controversial choice, but we actually don't mind it so we decided to save ourselves some money there

Bro those are some steep stairs!
I bought a beige paint once that was so creamy on the tester, but on the walls, IT WAS PEACH!!!! did NOT like! Had to repaint it ALL~
Lucy, please ask for a ratchet screwdriver for Christmas. It makes life so much easier.
Turns out ikea kallax double depth fit beautifully under the stairs. And of course you can stagger them. I have cheaper cloth baskets in the back row and posh baskets at the front. Great for shoes and winter stuff. Although I confess one is full of chocolate and crisps……
