Here's a little tribute to our Hank Voight! He's so complex and he's been through a lot since episode 1. I really wanted to highlight his human and kind sides, even if there's some darkness in him. He has lost his loved ones, but he keeps fighting for Chicago, and to help those who need it. I hope you'll like the vid, I'm not entirely convinced myself haha, but I did what I did. The best characterisation of a police sergeant ever done. The balance between corrupt, violent, dishonest but with high moral standards is incredibly skilful. Jason Beghe is one of the best actors in US but seldom get credit for it. Everybody is talking about how tough he is. It's the balance between korrupt, scary and emphatic that is magical. He was in coma for three weeks with broken bones and he injured his vocal chords himself. Most people don't ever come back to normal life after so many injuries. Jason must be stubborn like hell. I adore him.👌👏🇸🇪
I love Hank. My son turned me on to this show mainly because he knew I would love Hank. Love the show but don't know if I would watch it without him. Love Love love you Hank.
I own only 2 seasons of this series on DVD, I honestly despite the the intense relentless, Hank Voight to me is a good guy determined to protect his city.

Hank of the first like five seasons was so friggen fine and then he went all soft and the show lost it's charme. Now it's a regular show with all that romance drama. It's not a cop show anymore
Soft? Did you see the season finale where Hailey killed a perp and Hank burned the body in a pit? The old psychotic Hank hath returned.
@@tacklecentralfishing1051 it was the only finale I liked. This comment was written before it. Btw Haley needs to finally choose which side she takes. Either it's the Hank's way of doing things or Jay's. I have a feeling she chooses the "right" one when it's convenient for her.

i think of george floyd then i see THIS guy. wouldnt the stuff he does to the bad guys be considered police brutality also?
Of course. Even though his character is deep and complex, his methods have always been questioned (including by his own team sometimes). He has evolved a lot since episode 1 though, and with what happened this year, the writers are focusing on bringing some changes in his methods and his way of handling cases and people. The point of the show was to question the lines, the morale and what it can be to be a elite cop. A lot of things that the team did in the first seasons disappeared with the years and I’m glad the cast and the crew evolve with what’s actually happening in the US and in the world.
I hated Voight at first but then he was written in a better way and well, we learned to know him but I’m glad he can evolve and I hope he’ll get new methods and a new mentality with time!
