Hey, Wode a viewer from India here. It's so aspiring to see diaspora Ghanaians coming back to their roots armed with knowledge and making their motherland a better place
If you can perfect the Solar panels, you will do good. Some places have Solar panels that look like roof tiles. Much better looking. And the whole continent needs it. But you need to have Solar that totally replaces electricity for the whole house. Some places have that and you should look into it to see how it is done. I suggest a battery that is charged by the Sun and has at least a 72 hour operating life in case of no Sun, which is very rare there.
In times of crisis, the wise build bridges and the foolish build dams. Thank you, Wode Maya for building the between Africans at home and Africans in the Diaspora. You inspired me to start my channel.
Woda Maya you are doing the greatest job. Thanks for not complaining about Africa's issue, doing active things that changes our home land Africa. From here on it all Actions, Actions Actions and not talking. The Talking is over. It should be about doing things.
With out oil there is no Solar, the materials used in making solar panels are Oil based. Solar also has some nasty chemicals used in making them and left over after the solar panels are worn out, The key to great solar is responsible environmental management during production, replacement and disposal of the worn out panels.
These are the kind of success stories that I love to see. They inspire the youth to not depend on the system but to work for themselves. I hope you will do similar after the lockdown in other African countries

Africa is one of the last outposts for development, western economies have reached their maximum growth potential ,things have plateaued. Their economies may still grow but in tiny increments. Even Akon said Africa is the only place you can go to and make a fortune 500 company is 5 years. That is not happening here in North America.

Maya, thanks for bringing this eye opening to the diaspora. I definitely have to put some finance together snd go all in into investing into African companies
I am so motivated. Always thought of solar energy but was afraid of the monopoly of big electric companies in Ghana not wanting that to happen. I mean there is so much we can harness from our natural resources.
I am South African and I have this dream of opening up a solar company in Zimbabwe. Before the whole corona thing this year I was working for a solar panel manufacturing company and I was fortunate enough to get to interact with people from all over but I truly enjoyed interacting with my African brothers and sisters. I'd say what I enjoyed the most was how they would approach me with problems that I hadn't been exposed to before. I remember this Zimbabwean gentleman wanted me to design a solar system to run his irrigation system during the day with no backup or grid connection using a grid tied inverter with no grid to tie it to 😅. It's not impossible to do but what I enjoyed from the experience was applying all that I've learnt through my years studying and with the practical experience I have to help someone resolve an issue they have which would take years for the government to resolve. So I really want to start my own solar company in Zimbabwe, I don't know why but I love the people and I'm just drawn to the place. I feel as if it is the best place to use all that I've learnt.
@@passportready4466 of course. As it is right now I have a small company with only 1 permanent employee(me) and I do residential electrical installations. It's called Zungu Electrical & Solar Solutions Ltd.
In fairness, we also need to understand that not everyone in Ghana is in the economic class of people who can afford solar panels and battery packs. That's thousands of dollars. Tens of thousands if you want it to run reliably through the night and sequential cloudy days.
@@backtotheoldway6964The owner did say they were affordable so we shouldn't jump to conclusions. I do understand, but it is an investment for years to come. You pay for it once and years afte for maintenance or repairs should you need them.
If more Electricial and Electronic Engineers arrive in Africa to help in the infrastructure development of this technology throughout the country, thousand of jobs will be created, that will create profits & installations, and repairs needed can & will be done. It won't happen nationwide over night, but it can be done. There are couples in the world, putting these systems up on their property without an engineers physical assistance. Those who talk discouragement, don't want you to succeed. It's like a school counselor, telling you "Ohh, that's not an opportunity for you to look into" or "you don't have the brain power to do that". It's called attacking a person's self-esteem, a form of mental slavery, behind what some members in society try to instill in impressionable minds, what society feels, a person can, is allowed to, or cannot or is restricted to do.
Back to the Old Way start off with governmental and commercial entities build up cash reserves and subsidize. This along with government incentives could lead to powering the populace. From a 🇯🇲/🇺🇸 hoping to be back in 🇬🇭 doing business soon.✊🏿💪🏿
This is BIG for ALL African countries and for ALL Africans. Educate yourselves and get paid. This has been the new oil for the past 20 years. Here in the UK with 5% of African yearly sun exposure, people are already making money with this. Imagine what's possible at home.
Tema is an expensive place to live in. I don’t know if it is because of the harbor that is there. Much more an expensive place to live as compared to even Accra. Maya, load up before going there.
Please keep these stories (people of the diaspora) returning to Ghana to help improve things. Stories of people of African ancestry who have never been to the motherland coming to do the same are also important for all of us to know about. Africans have to understand that if we don't do it, no one else will.
This is good to see. The potential for solar power in Ghana and Africa is immense. You didn't ask where he is sourcing the components from and if any are locally made? - I wish I could afford them here in the UK
5:03, @wode maya, I like the way you insist on 'what kind of systems'. It is good we ask these questions so that we are aware of the challenges and know how to tackle them. Thank you wode for being our mouth piece.
As a British-Pakistani I want to congratulate all my African brothers and sisters for coming back and developing Africa. So happy to see Africans winning and succeeding compared to what the media shows us.
Did you know that only 1% of the continent use solar power and mind you we have the sun as commodity. There are more opportunities in Africa than anywhere else for Black people, the continent its an untapped market with 1.2 Billion market of people. i'm about to start my startup Tech company in South Africa building software for governments around the continent.

Are you seeking investors for this venture?
@@passportready4466 of course. As it is right now I have a small company with only 1 permanent employee(me) and I do residential electrical installations. It's called Zungu Electrical & Solar Solutions Ltd.
I'm PROUD Africans are making a difference in AFRICA.👍❤❤
Awesome Interview!!!
People need to understand how important solar panels are. I will be sure that my house only runs off of that 🙌
In fairness, we also need to understand that not everyone in Ghana is in the economic class of people who can afford solar panels and battery packs.
Same here
Awesome idea! Many African Americans would love to invest in something like this.
He can't open up too much concerning his stay in US because he is ex service man so people has to understand him.
This is BIG for ALL African countries and for ALL Africans. Educate yourselves and get paid. This has been the new oil for the past 20 years. Here in the UK with 5% of African yearly sun exposure, people are already making money with this. Imagine what's possible at home.
Ghanaian are really doing great.
Wode Maya come to Tema there are more places to visit, even MPS terminal is amazing
I'm replying you from tema community 25!
@@WODEMAYA hahaaa
Alot of Ghanaians in the Diaspora are doing so well
5:03, @wode maya, I like the way you insist on 'what kind of systems'. It is good we ask these questions so that we are aware of the challenges and know how to tackle them. Thank you wode for being our mouth piece.
Went to Ghana now I’m acting up💪🏾
Mrghanababy please how are you and Aunt Maggie , from kojokrom sekondi 🇬🇭
Auntie Maggie is doing well!
@@WODEMAYA we thank God
This is good. Maya you’re doing a great job 👍🏽
Great showcase Wode Maya of young entrepreneurs returning home setting up innovative business and employing other young people.
We need a company like this in Rwanda!
Omg!!! I was telling my father about starting a solar panel business in Ghana!!! Grats to you on your business!
Wode Maya great job brother for making us proud Africans are proud of you.
Mr Wode, I just started watching your videos last week cuz of a friend of mine out here in Minnesota forwarded it to me. But after watching few episodes from your channel, I'm extremely convinced you've got a great thing here and doing a marvelous job at it. You are definitely doing all of us a huge favor by opening our eyes. Please keep em coming
