An Infantry Fighting Vehicle that can effectively support the squad it carries
A recon vehicle that can zoom around, see what's happening, and if needed defend itself.
A versatile vehicle that can withstand heavy machinegun and light auto cannon, and strike back with a 25mm chaingun and TOW missiles.
Don't believe James Burton's lies. He doesn't seem to understand that a 30mm is not enough to kill modern tanks and that you can, actually, find tanks on radar.

If you think the Bradley sucks, the A-10 is the greatest plane ever invented, and the F-35 is useless, you have been misled by conmen.
I know. I was once, too. The Pentagon Wars wasn't based on reality. The guys who say the F-35 is useless thought the F-15 shouldn't be able to shoot missiles. The A-10 needs an upgrade package more expensive than a new F-35 to be able to even use the weapons its supposed to now.
They were, and are, a bunch of cranks who make their living going around and lying, creating an image of being bold reformers who challenged the old entrenched brass when they were the ones who thought all combat was going to be the same as WWII.

An IFV that can lug a squad into battle, with all the kit they'd need, under armor and with firepower to spare.
A recon vehicle that can ignore smoke, camoflage, darkness and distance up to 2-3km, with situational awareness brought by modern netbattle.
A light tank that can stand up to IFVs and APCs, while returning the favor with interest using antitank missiles and autocannon.

    Lyrics:
General Omar Bradley was no ordinary General, he achieved his rank on the battlefields of North Africa, Sicily, and Europe. During the harsh winter months of the allied offensive in Europe when the survival of the free world lay in his hands, the mobility and fire power he always counted on proved to be the edge that brought ultimate victory. Today, the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System takes mobility and firepower a leap forward, giving the United States Army a combined arms team, second to none. Developed and built for the United States Army by FMC Corporation, this single weapons system constructed of aluminum and steel armor is configured for either infantry of cavalry missions. The M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle carries: a commander and gunner in the two man turret, a driver, and 7 squad members. Identical in appearance, the M3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle carries: a commander and gunner in the two man turret, a driver, and two scouts, the additional space accommodates a greater compliment of ammunition. Working in combination with the Abrams Main Battle Tank, Artillery, and the Attack Helicopter, the Bradley significantly reduces the advantages of the enemies numerical superiority. The primary weapon, an awesome 25mm cannon by Hughs Helicopter fires both Armor Piercing and High Explosive fire at rates of up to 200 rounds per minute. A coaxially mounted 7.62mm machine gun provides effective anti personnel fire for close in engagements. The all electric turret drive and stabilization system by General Electric allows the cannon and machine gun to fire with accuracy even when the vehicle is moving at speed over rough terrain. Push button controls, located between the gunner and commander allow instant change of ammunition type, and firing rate. Elevation, Depression, Slew, and Firing, are all combined in a single control, so the gunner can focus his attention on target engagement, a second set of controls on the commanders side, provide him with an override capability, the integrated sight unit by Hughs Aircraft, enables the Bradley to detect enemy through heat differential, the system is so sensitive it can even see through smoke screens, camouflage, and even sparsely wooded areas. To support the Main Battle Tank in combined ground gaining offensive combat, the Bradley can destroy opposing tanks. This is the first armored fighting vehicle equipped with a proven long range TOW anti-tank missile. One switch automatically raises and synchronizes the twin tube launcher. The TOW anti-tank missile is effective against armor at ranges in excess of 3,000 meters. To keep pace with the main battle, move troops rapidly and for its own survivability, Bradley has outstanding mobility. Mobility that results from an optimum combination of engine power, powertrain efficiency, and suspension. The commercially proven Cummins 500-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine delivers rapid acceleration and battlefield agility. The hydromechanical transmission by General Electric combines steering, braking and gear selection as a single unit, resulting in outstanding maneuverability and the capacity to climb slopes of up to 60 percent. The suspension system with 14 inches of vertical wheel travel and high performance shock absorbers carries the vehicle over rough terrain with minimum shock and stress to troops and vehicle. The Bradley has maximum armor protection for minimum weight by using the FMC’s spaced laminate armor system, this protects the squad against the majority of weapons encountered. Quick reloading of the externally mounted missile launcher is accomplished under armor by the loader without leaving the vehicle. Unlike the BMP, the Bradley is human engineered with the soldier in mind, personnel and equipment positions assure adequate space for troops to preform with maximum effectiveness even after long hours of vehicle confinement. During mounter operations, six vision blocks and firing ports to the sides and rear of the M2 give squad members the capability to see targets and engage them with their 5.56mm automatic weapons. Many combat tasks can only be accomplished by dismounted infantrymen. The Bradley M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle brings troops to the main battle area with the option of fighting mounted or dismounted. Under the protection of terrain the lead squads maneuver ahead of their vehicles, their objective: and anti-tank position 400 meters ahead, following a terrain feature for protection, the vehicles move into position to provide fire support for the dismounted troops as they preform their traditional infantry tasks. With the ability to move forward at speed under attack in the combat area, the Bradley M2 had transformed the infantry squad from a team of riflemen to a well armed fighting unit capable of effective operation on a mechanized battlefield. Firepower, mobility and survivability make a potent weapons system. Operating on a mechanized battlefield with the Abrams Main Battle Tank, Artillery, and the Attack Helicopters, the Bradley fighting vehicle guarantees the United States Army has a combined arms team that is second to none

If there's a more adorable video promoting an IFV I haven't seen it.
OK but I've always wondered: who are these kind of "ads" for things like IFVs and tanks and missiles and fighter jets actually intended for? Like who is the target audience of this video? Lawmakers holding purse strings? Allied nations' procurement departments? The taxpayers at large wondering where their money's going? Mercenary outfits and/or eccentric billionaires with secret private armies? Geopolitical rivals who have to come up with their own new thing now? All of the above? Or is it more just that when people make a cool new IFV or MBT or fighter jet, they're real proud of it and simply want to show it off to whoever's listening (including just to promote the company in general and for internal company morale)?

@@NevadaGamingWedge Remember, Pentagon Wars, even the book, is at best a comedy, it's not an accurate recounting of the Bradley's development, and if James Burton had gotten his way, it would've taken far longer to work out the flaws of the M2 since instead of being able to dissect what each hit did to the Bradley in detail, we'd have to have been combing through the wrecks of hundreds of blown up Bradleys, and we'd be hitting it with ammo we already knew it couldn't withstand and would never be able to withstand.

@@thermalvision203dude, 30mm autocannons are mean little bastards. Even tanks will get their subsystems evicerated by lucky shots, and beyond that I highly doubt the people in the BTR were fairing any better if not significantly worse. That being said, the armor of the Bradley did what it was supposed to and protected the crew from the barrage and the crew (and vehicle) lived to fight another day even if certain things got busted up.

@@toastpuppy3491 The Blinded Bradley rolled over a mine a few minutes later which completely destroyed it after a fuel fire spread to the ammo, and while the crew did survive to give an interview to the Washington Post, they were all badly injured and only survived because there were no FPV drones operating in the area at the time.
Also, in the video you can see all of the BTR-82A's internal dismounts get out unscathed and enter a building while the BTR itself deployed a smoke screen and tried to hide in some bushes behind the building its dismounts entered. Only the 1-2 guys riding on top of the BTR were killed or injured.
