What a privilege to watch and learn from people like Erik Paulson's -- People with this level of understanding and skills truly is a blessing. Very grateful for their generosity that they share some of their incredible knowledge. Kudos and respect
Guy is an encyclopedia of MMA. If you get a chance to train at a CSW affiliated school, I'd highly recommend it. The knowledge base is incredible. Chess on steroids doesn't do what he does justice. This guy has forgot more submissions than most active grapplers know, lol
4:55 Mental Note: NEVER throw a mid round house at Erik Paulson. Unless you want death by ankle lock. That scream says all we need to know. He actually yelled "Oh God!". Real Life. Great Vid and thank you Mr. Paulson for sharing with us.
I thought that Paulson was just a catch wrestler, but I just looked up his bio, and OMG!! This guy has done like every Martial Art known to man!!! What a beast!!!
I realized the grips for chicken wing and the toe hopd were the same and thought it was so so so cool. I love how he uses a stick to practice this also very vey cool
I like catch wrestling better than bjj for this reason. Catch is always about capitalizing off opportunities whenever they arise.. bjj is more about position, isolation, submission, and it just doesn't always work that way in the real world.
every situation requires a different strategy , so if you see the option to finish the fight ``even in a street fight´´ evaluate the consecuences ...well right, im agree in that but take the risk sometimes is the best
ovo nisamja Yep, i'd be asking to sleep on the mats and pay rent. The knowledge base you'd soak up training there would be crazy! Take advantage of it, and don't think about it. Turn off your phone and show up to class!
@jonny232323232323 You can! Come visit us at DamageControlMMA,com and get an online membership. We're training with folks from all over the world and having a great time!
What are you talking about? Do you really think giving an opponent the back of your head by going for a toe hold from bottom half guard is a good idea in a 'real world' scenario?
And he just walked away lol. Seriously this guy trained Brock for years and the still fought the same. You add subs to Brock's top game and he subs every HW. Passed tense

Yea I don't think their is anyone out there that wouldn't say Paulson isn't respected.
6 years and is still relevant. Tq
6? sure for the video but for grappling concepts that stuff has worked since the Greeks!
He is a Guru.
He is simply brilliant. One of the very best

Hahaha, Genius and madness go hand in hand:P

Who is still watching in 2020?
What are you talking about? Do you really think giving an opponent the back of your head by going for a toe hold from bottom half guard is a good idea in a 'real world' scenario?
@shulom1 I have even heard Guro Dan make this statement.. LOL
And he just walked away lol.
Seriously this guy trained Brock for years and the still fought the same. You add subs to Brock's top game and he subs every HW. Passed tense
@lusby16 Relax man. Notice that his "pupil" is laughing. It's all in good fun. Our sport is different from tennis or golf.
ITS THE SAME MOVEMENT. MOVEMENT IS THE SAME
Lol paulson doesnt believe in gradual pressure during demo's.
Im gonna go get a stick

BORING
