I just rented a Genie TZ-50 from Sunbelt Rentals this past weekend to do some major tree trimming over my house. This machine is fantastic and I would not have been able to do any aspect of the job without it. The rental cost me $460 but if I had to hire a tree service to come out it would have easily cost me $4-5k. The TZ-50 is an amazing product!
I don't know what the circumstances are so I'm not judging this guy personally but I don't understand why all of these companies (not just this one) send a rep to these shows that apparently know very little about the products. This guy probably just saw this lift a couple of hours ago. Maybe the guy who designed this thing is a little bit too hillbilly for the cameras but I'd rather have him tell me about it rather than a well dressed gentleman who doesn't know what he's talking about.
Terrible job demonstrating this & very aggravating to listen to all 3 videos with all his mouth chuffs, clicks etc.. I operated Genie 80' to 30' man lifts and scissor lifts for many yrs almost daily all day long as a FAA Certificated Airframe & Powerplant Technician. You only showed us SOME of it's capabilities & features but you did not show us HOW to operate the controls at all & what buttons control what functions which is why I watched this video because I'm contemplating renting one for tree removal at my home. Yes I'm sure the controls are very similar to the man lifts & scissor lifts I've operated but what about the people watching this video that never operated a aerial man lift before? I really like Genie equipment & my life actually depended on them 60 feet in the air on Boeing 747 tail rudders & other aircraft. He should have practiced using this machine & read thru the operators manual thoroughly before making a product review video & live demonstration in front of an audience. Read the other comments; he did Genie a disservice & these videos Parts 1,2, & 3 should be re-done showing the audience thoroughly HOW to operate it & actually show what buttons do what in the videos along with the features and more specifications for us Technical Professionals. There's a better, outdoor, demo on RUclips and it includes a rotating 'basket'.
