Yes I do not add oil or water my box cake mix. I use butter instead of the oil and almond milk instead of water. Add other little hacks. I found that when I added flour to the box cake mix it helped it stand high like the ones from scratch. Lastly, you all are hilarious!!!! Your channel is the only one I can get my husband to watch! My mom is still a baker at age 95, and she worked for a famous bakery when I was a child. Years ago, she taught me how to make this cake with the box cake mix. I love it. I have never made a cake from scratch because she gave me this recipe. To me, it tastes just as good as a scratch cake. I used more eggs and I used milk instead of water. I also used butter instead of oil.
It's nothing wrong with making a cake from a box I do it when I don't feel like making a cake from scratch although I can do whatever makes you and your people happy.

I do box cake all the time it’s so good and moist, I use milk instead of water I use butter and oil I add Jell-O pudding mix in my. Yesterday I did a box Hennessy, pineapple cake I use the Duncan Hines pineapple cake mix. It came out moist and marvelous. I got seven orders after everybody taste 👅 that cake.

I’ve always made poundcake from scratch, and they always come out 100% but I do like my DH cake mix too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using a cake mix. Box cake mix has been pre-formulated to work just right if you don’t want to make a scratch cake and I think it’s good both ways.

Being a cake decorator myself I use and tweak box cakes all the time depending on the cake and trust me when I tell you. It’s fantastic. When u go to a bakery or stores to order a cake at least 85% of these places use box cakes. Simply bcuz the demand for cake is so much that it would be costly and timely for them to even make money bcuz to bake from scratch can be expensive and most customers either won’t pay the price or can’t afford too. Ms Donna I love both of ur channels I learn a lot from from you ☺️

I add an extra egg, milk instead of water, vanilla extract, vanilla pudding & real butter instead of oil. It's semi homemade. This looks delicious!

That’s exactly what I do and I constantly hear from ppl how good my cakes are . I add different ingredients to the batter I also switch water for milk and oil for butter it makes a difference. I also add flavor emulsion along with my flavor this gives it a burst of flavor 😊
Box cakes every is just measured out for you , the flour , sugar, baking powder levelers etc .When you add other ingredients to a box mix like milk ,, butter , sour cream etc it then becomes a scratch cake. ( From A Baker) 🥰

We honestly couldn't tell the difference. You could tell it wasn't a pound cake, but you also could not tell if it was a box cake either. She was just that good. So, I'm not opposed to this at all. I just found your channel - I loved it! You and your husband are a hoot! I am not a baker, so using a box cake mix is something that I would embrace! I really enjoyed watching you bake this cake. I would never attempt a scratch pound cake, cuz it would most likely flop!
There is nothing wrong with doing a "box cake" and adding ingredients to enhance the flavor. The old folks would say "I'm doctoring up the cake". It looked good and Dude #1 liked it. Thumbs up with this one!

It’s absolutely delicious. It’s made with a yellow cake mix, pudding and sour cream, not the extra flour. I also love homemade cakes from scratch. I don’t even think one is better than the other… they’re just different. That should be okay. I do share my baked goods a lot. I always tell people if you don’t like something I fix please tell me. Hello Ms Donna and Dude #1! You put me in shock with that box cake mix. I have a few recipes that call for box cake mix. I can usually tell a homemade cake from scratch. Box cakes have an odd taste no matter how you dress it up. You all be blessed with your young cute selves 💕🙏🏾

Hello Donna! Dude#1 is so funny, the expression on his face is hilarious. He dropped a piece of cake on the floor and he looked like he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.😂😂 I also use Duncan Hines cake mix to make a Mandarin Orange cake, it’s a layer cake and everyone enjoys it. Most of the time I bake my cakes from scratch. I agree when you’re getting something free enjoy it and don’t be negative, life is too short. My mom used to use box cake mix as her base. Then she would add her own spin to the recipe and that would be an AMAZING cake!
That’s exactly what I do and I constantly hear from ppl how good my cakes are . I add different ingredients to the batter I also switch water for milk and oil for butter it makes a difference. I also add flavor emulsion along with my flavor this gives it a burst of flavor 😊

Box cakes every is just measured out for you , the flour , sugar, baking powder levelers etc .When you add other ingredients to a box mix like milk ,, butter , sour cream etc it then becomes a scratch cake. ( From A Baker) 🥰

Heeeyyyyy there Ms. Donna!👋🏽 I don't think there's anything wrong with box cake mixes. Growing up, we always bought Duncan Hines and doctored it up. And one of my aunties was the very best at it. We honestly couldn't tell the difference. You could tell it wasn't a pound cake, but you also could not tell if it was a box cake either. She was just that good. So, I'm not opposed to this at all.
