Puccini said after hearing Wagner's Parsifal; "He makes guitar players of the rest of us." After seeing Tarkovsky, he makes most directors look like kids with an Instamatic.
I suppose it's very difficult to choose short excerpts from movies of this director who makes very long shots. For instance, you very briefly show the candle scene from Nostalghia. It's an extraordinary cinema moment whose beauty comes largely from the length of the shot. But don't you miss the impressive scene of Nostalghia where the madman burns? Very beautiful video that should make those who don't know Tarkovsky want to go see his movies. 👍👏
Thanks!🙏 Yes..it is slightly difficult as well as fun, to edit the long scenes. I immensely enjoyed creating the tribute videos of Andrei Tarkovsky, Michelangelo Antonioni, Wong Kar Wai and even Jacques Tati. They are some great filmmakers who use long sequences to create a fantastic atmosphere and to tell the story. And yes..I could have used that scene with the 'fire' sequences together.👍
@@ikmarchini Yes, it's a very pretty moment, but the birds don't fly out of the girl's belly (you wrote "her"), nor from a character but from a dress hanging on a hanger or something. But it's true that beautiful shots, there are many in the Tarkovsky's Movies .
My third congratulation. The music is a bit over dramatic, but who can deny the beauty of the images? Tarkovsky made only a handful of movies and all of them a masterpiece. Somebody somewhere pointed out that the first shot of his first movie, Ivan’s Childhood (he made The violin and the Steamroller as a student in his younger days, I don’t know anybody who has seen it) is a tree... and his last shot in his last one, The Sacrifice, also a tree! Is that coincidence or some kind of circular trip in this genius’ mind? Keep at the good work.
No words to describe Tarkovsky's film making.... Correct me if I'm wrong, but, have you made any video collecting Werner Herzog's most beautiful shots? If you haven't, I think, talented and sensitive as you are, it'll be a a really interesting/beautiful video....
Because of the Cold War, I saw none of these films. From 1950 to 1990 there were cultural sanctions. Viewing Russians as like ourselves was forbidden. The whole thing was foolish. I have just seen "Ivan's Childhood" I will see more... With a few exceptions, American cinema is in a CGI slump.. Action fantasy and 2D characters. Maybe after the crash we will become real again..
Sad for both nations. Many actors were invited to hollywood, but Soviet sect did not allow them to play in American movies. Chech Grogory Chuhrai's "Ballad of a soldier", it has brilliant operator work and beauty and "Cranes are flying" by Kalatozov.
You don't simply watch an Andrei Tarkovsky film... You live in it!
Absolutely magnificent! Pure beauty!
🙏👍
I feel art i sense masterpiece i amazed
What a genius and moving filmmaker. On the other side you did a great job editing this ❤️
Thanks!🙏👍
2:13- 2:35 has got to be my favorite scene from any movie

An under-rated film visionary who understands the medium. Modern cinephiles should know more about Tarkovsky.
Love and appreciate his excellent films
Beautiful
The effort that goes into ur videos is remarkable 👏
Thanks so much!🙏👍
The master of cinema. Excellent edit.

ベルイマンの映像とタルコフスキーの映像は似てるなあ!といつも思う。勿論二人とも大好きだけれど。

Great video 👍 great choice of shots how on earth did you whittle it down to 5 minutes 😊
Thanks!🙏 True. Every Tarkovsky frame is a piece of art.👍

Thanks so much!🙏 Sure, I will try to work on the video of 'Werner Herzog' soon.👍
Kubrick ,tarkovskij and ecc. Would had deserved at least an academy award
True!👍 But somehow, their films are way beyond any awards.
Not Kubrik definitely
Background music is awesome.....
👍
Brilliant work👍 keep going
Thanks.👍🙏
This video is a work of art. Stunning. What's the music you used in it.
Thanks so much!🙏👍
Music : Cinematic Piano - SilverHoof & Atmosphere Piano - cleanmindsounds.
@@Adyfilk Thanks for the info. There's a beautiful piano piece called Discovery by Marco Zannone which would go well in one of your videos. Stay safe.
Thanks for the suggestion.👍 Sure. I will try it.
Nicely done
Thanks!🙏👍
What is the background music?
Soundtracks used in this video-
1) Cinematic Piano - SilverHoof
2) Atmosphere Piano - cleanmindsounds.👍

When a see the shots from Emmanuel ¨chivo ¨Lubezki first thing to comes to mind is Tarkovsky
G.O.A.T.
I suoi video sono stupendi. Potrebbe realizzarne uno sul geniale regista polacco Walerian Borowczyk?
Le sarei molto grato.
Un cordiale saluto!

👍
Not a fan of the music. It makes this seem like a trailer for contemporary sci-fi or history drama, Tarkovsky has a different vibe though
No scenes from the sacking of Vladimir?
,quasi intellectual overlap ! ....Rubbish !!!
You are rubbish
Would be better to use Bach, he was Tarkovsky's favourite.
