You mentioned in the opening how life continues in Rome, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the street cleaning truck covered in graffiti 😂, but I digress… Is it typical, as you entered the Basilica at 1:15, for the bricks on the outside walls to be inscribed? I believe this has been the case at other places but I can’t recall where. I loved the entrance opening to the side rather than the main portion. It gives the worshipper a moment to catch their breath and make the mental transition from the outside world. Where do I even begin with all the art? I would need to be there for days to be able to take in the richness and history of this Basilica. Places like this truly evoke a spirit of worship and communion with God, asking us to return to the tradition of our Catholic ancestors. ❤🙏
Are they still “social distancing”?? Appears to be the case, given how the chairs are set up. Such a shame our beautiful, sacred churches have fallen into the clutches of these weak, ineffectual, and sometimes wicked leaders. Will pray for our Holy Mother Church.
Salve et venite adoremus Dominum qui fecit nos. I've just found you channel this Lent, and it is sort of a perfect accompaniment to the book Roman Pilgrimage by S. Weigel and E. Lev which I have been reading this Lent and which I have to assume you are familiar with. I plan on visiting Rome in 2025 and intend to visit the seven pilgrim churches. Are there any itineraries for doing so and, just as importantly, are there any particular prayers or actions one takes when visiting a church on such an itinerary? Peace
I love going inside this church.
Magnificent! ❤Ave Maria! 🙏Thank you Jacob! May you have a blessed rest of your day!
Amazing and so beautiful. Thank you for this glimpse inside.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. WERE EVER THE CAMERA ZOOMS ON.THANK YOU.JACOB.
The columns inside the church were originally from the baths of Constantine
According to E. Lev "[t]he interior granite columns, capped with matching Ionic capitals [are] from the Temple of Serapis on the Janiculum Hill."
beautiful yes....but there are also great spiritual treasures that should also be shown.

At night it is a very lively piazza!
I put the garbage trucks for my nephews
Those markings come from the catacombs
Belisdima e sancta
Surprised you did not remark on the Scavi.
Some of the churches of Rome merit multiple trips and therefore multiple videos :)
Beautiful video and also beautiful music! Oh where is the Fons Olei? I have never been to this church, but always read about this miraculous event.

Words cannot describe the beauty of the mosaics in that church. I believe there are some famous people buried there, is this correct?
I certainly need to make a further video to dive deeper into the riches of this Basilica.
Jacob do you know what relics are in the altar? Also does the fons olio to the right of the altar still exude oil?
I know Saint Callistus is in the urn of the high altar.
We’re the pews removed?
It’s quite common that Italian churches don’t have pews
Anglicans introduced pews to churches.
